je suis Français et j'envisage de plus en plus à partir m'établir dans la région de Montréal et avant cela j'aimerai avoir des avis concernant l'emploi et, une chose importante a mes yeux, la couverture sociale !
J'ai 21ans, un bac S, je suis actuellement étudiant, mais je compte arrêter les études, voyant que cela ne m'intéresse pas. Je n'ait donc pas de diplomes post bac, juste 3ans d'experience en tant qu'administrateur systeme/reseaux Unix/Linux.
À ce qu'on m'a dit, il n'est pas trop difficile de trouver un emploi à Montréal, même si dans un premier temps l'emploi ne correspond pas à mes compétences !
Par contre un certain nombre d'amis m'ont dit que niveau sécurité sociale ce n'etait pas au point. Que si je devais me faire soigner ce serait tout de ma poche ou alors aller se faire soigner chez des médecins pris en compte par l'assurance maladie, mais que le service serait assez mauvais (on serait mis sur une liste d'attente relativement longue avant de pouvoir bénéficier d'un soin qui n'est pas vraiment de qualité).
Donc en résumé, mes préoccupations sont :
Trouver du travail, un logement (la colocation me va, c'est courant à mtl ?) Et quels est le revenu minimum ? Cela permet-il de vivre (et non de survivre)
De quelles convertures dispose-t-on en tant que salarié ? (sécurité de l'emploi / assurance maladie (mutuelle ?) )
Si je me casse une jambe ou mes lunettes là bas, est-ce que je vais devoir vendre tous mes biens pour payer les frais ? (un peu carricatural là, mais bon...)

Ici, les logements à Montréal sont de plus en plus couteux ... Donc, les colocs deviennent chose courante !
Tu peux retrouver plusieurs annoncent dans les journaux de logement ou de gens qui recherchent des colocs pour pouvoir payer l'appartement ... !
Tu peux aussi regarder les annonces des Universitaires à la recherchent d'un coloc ! Malheureusement, le 1 juillet est passé ... c'est la fete du Canada .. mais ici au Québec c'est la journée du déménagement pour plusieurs .. et oui .. rare sont ceux qui fete le Canada au Québec ... Le salaire minimum est de 7.45 $ / heure en Canadien bien sur ... mais tu a 3 ans d'experiences en tant qu'administrateur systeme/reseaux Unix/Linux donc tu peux facilement envoyer ton Curriculum Vitae dans les diverses compagnies informatiques disponible à Montréal ... sinon comme tu la dit .. tu peux facilement trouver un emploi dans à Montréal pour débuter .. serveur, barmaid, cuisinier, hotel, agent promotionnelle et des millions d'autres ... exemple :
Pour ce qui est de la santé ... ouf ... tu peux facilement attendre des heures dans les hopitaux avant de rencontrer un médecin ... et certains attrape des maladies dans certains hopitaux insalubre ! Les cliniques privés t'assure de la rapiditée et de la qualitée du service .. mais $$$$ ! Les médicaments sont cher comparer à la France ... il te faudrait une assurance maladie de longue durée pour voyageur .. au moins pour amorcer ton voyage .. ensuite vaudrait mieux t'informer d'avantage ... ! Je ne peux pas trop t'aider pour le travail, mais je crois que dans ton domaine ça devrait se trouver assez facilement.
Pour la sécurité sociale, on est quand même en Amérique du Nord..donc c'est moins étendu qu'en France, ou d'autres pays d'Europe de l'ouest, mais tout de même en général plus étendu qu'ailleurs sur le continent.
Mais je connais pas ce qui est nécéssaire à un nouvel arrivant pas encore 'citoyen' officiellement. Peut-être une assurance voyageur longue-durée, comme mentionné?
Sinon, à peu près tous les soins sont couverts par l'assurance maladie du Québec. Oui les listes d'attentes sont longues, l'attente aux urgences des hôpitaux aussi. Mais c'est quand même pas le tier-monde, faudrait pas partir en peur.
Pour des consultations moins urgentes ou plus banales, il y a aussi les cliniques publiques sans rendez-vous, souvent l'attente est moins longue. (Enfin selon mon expérience personnelle.)
Il y a aussi les CLSC. Mais pour trouver un "médecin de famille", c'est devenu presque impossible.
Les lunettes par contre, comme le dentiste, c'est pas couvert. Il faut payer de notre poche, à moins de cotiser à une assurance privée offerte au travail.
Pour les médicaments, si tu n'es pas couvert par une assurance privée au travail ou autre, l'assurance publique est obligatoire. (la RAMQ).
Pour le salaire minimum, au Québec c'est 7.75$/heure, je crois. Selon moi ça permet plutôt de survivre que de vivre.. Mais avec un appart pas trop cher en coloc, pas de voiture, etc. ça peut aller, j'imagine. Si tu travailles dans un resto, ou un bar, il y a les pourboires en plus. Mais le salaire réel avant pourboire s'en trouve diminué, dans les 6$ et quelques l'heure je crois.
Les avantages sociaux comme salarié, c'est plutôt dans d'assez grandes entreprises que tu en trouveras. (Lunettes, dentiste, assurance-vie etc)
Et l'assurance chômage, là selon moi c'est pas terrible. Ça prend beaucoup d'heures de travail effectuées avant de pouvoir en retirer. Et ça ne couvre pas longtemps, 6 mois peut-être, à 55% du revenu brut..
Celle-là est du gouvernement fédéral (Canada).

Je pense que mes amis qui comparent le systeme de santé du Quebec avec celui des USA sont un peu alarmistes, vu ce que vous me dites ! Concernant l'emploi et le prix de la vie, je pense qu'étant jeune, sans obligations familiales, je n'aurai pas trop de mal à m'adapter !
Le seul problème étant que je n'ai qu'un BAC général spécialité mathématiques (l'équivalent de votre DEC si j'ai bien tout compris) et 3ans d'experience en tant qu'administrateur reseaux/systeme a temps partiel ! Si un employeur me demande des diplomes en informatique je suis mal barré ! Est-ce qu'une recommendation de mon employeur actuel peut servir ? Enfin je pense que c'est toujours bon a prendre !
Mais à ce qu'on m'a dit, chez vous l'experience, meme sans diplomes peut compter, ce qui serait pas mal... pas comme en france où les employeurs sont des fanatiques des diplomes !
Une lettre de ton employeur va beaucoup t'aider...et de ton propriétaire de ton logement en ce moment pour ton futur loyer à montréal.
En passant, comme tu dis, nous avons pas le système de santé des états-unis, y faut pas capoter!! on est quand même chanceux de ne pas payer < chaque fois que nous allons dans une clinique ou à l'hôpital.

Ici ton Bac, n'est pas un DEC, juste un diplôme de fin d'études secondaires. Ici le DEC est un dîplôme de 2 ou 3 ans aprés la fin du secondaire.
C'est sûre que le salaire minimum permet plus de survivre, même en étant seul, à 40h00 semaine, il va te rester clair dans les poches par semaine environ $200, 00....la vie à Montréal est assez chère..
As-tu ton visa d'immigrant ? Première démarche à faire si tu veux être en régle.
Pour information le systeme de santé au Québec est le meilleur d'Amerique du nord mais... n'a rien à voir avec le systeme Français. On doit attendre et... attendre... pour le reste c'est tout aussi gratuit qu'en Europe.

C'est moins cher que l'hotel et ca permet d'avoir rapidement un contact avec la population locale !

5) Construire des logements gratuits pour expatriés à la retraite en échange de leurs participations gratuite dans leurs domaines respectives.
Ceci étant un projet dont j'y crois , j'invite toutes personnes intéressées à apporter une touche personnelle, sous la forme d'un conseil, une orientation et enfin une implication.
NB: projet à l'échelle nationale et internationale au niveau de l'emplois.
