J'ai en projet, une mutation à Kourou, plus précisément au Centre Spatial Guyanais.
Grâce à ce forum, j'ai déjà récolté de nombreuses informations sur la vie générale dans cette ville.
J'ai remarqué que la majorité des questions vient de couples, qui emménagent ensembles. Mais qu'en est-il d'une personne seule et célibataire? L'intégration est-elle facile dans cette ville (en dehors des connaissances professionnelles)?
Il existe de nombreuses associations, ce qui permet de faire des rencontres. Y'a-t-il une grande population de 20-30 ans?
Je me pose pas mal de questions à ce sujet, car il n'est pas abordé...
Je suis arrivée seule à Kourou à 24 ans, mais j'y ai rapidement rencontré mon compagnon. Je ne serai donc pas forcément objective, mais je ne crois pas que ce soit très compliqué de rencontrer du monde. La vie associative est en effet riche, et les connaissances professionnelles peuvent t'aider à rencontrer du monde extérieur...
La difficulté est qu'en fait une grande partie de la population reste peu de temps (3-4 ans...voire moins), les connaissances sont donc toujours à refaire.
La vie nocturne n'est pas, en revanche, des plus exaltantes, et on croise presque toujours les mêmes personnes aux concerts (rares, mais plutôt de qualité par rapport au nombre de Guyanais- dernièrement, Ayyo, Wiclef Jean...).
La population est beaucoup plus jeune dans l'ensemble que 20-30 ans (je crois que seul 25 % de la population a plus de 25 ans, et 50 % moins de 15 ans), tu feras donc figure d'ancêtre par rapport au reste de la population- mais pas par rapport aux travailleurs du centre spacial, bien sûr.
Ce qui est sûr, c'est qu'en tant que jeune travailleur du centre spacial, tu seras très courtisé, notamment par de (très) jeunes filles: sois vigilant. Certaines sont effectivement adorables et sincères, d'autre s'intéressent surtout à un statut et à un porte-monnaie. L'expérience parlera...
De toute façon, je trouve (c'est peut- être un avis personnel) qu'en Guyane, les gens se mélangent plus niveau âge qu'en métropole (on subit aussi moins la pression du modèle de vie: couple puis mariage puis achat de maison puis enfant puis deuxième puis divorce 🤪). A 30 ans maintenant, j'ai des amis de 21 comme de 55...et presque aucun de mon âge. Mais je m'en fiche...
Si j'ai bien compris, la majorité de la population est constituée de couples + enfants... va falloir que je me mette au boulot alors !!

Je ne connais pas kourou mais je souhaiterai travailler au cnes (j'ai une thèse en informatique, spécialisée intelligence artificielle, planification diagnostic) meme si je suis déjà en cdi à paris.
j'ai regardé le site du cnes, je vais faire une candidature spontannée mais j'ai l'impression qu'il n'y pas trop d'offre pour mes spécialités (ce qui parait étonnant). Dans quel domaine travailles tu ?

Je travaille actuellement dans l'aéronautique, et cette mission à Kourou serait un détachement. Je n'ai jamais regardé les offres sur le site du CNES, mais ça me surprend aussi qu'il n'y ait pas d'offres pour tes spécialités.
Tu souhaites uniquement travailler au CNES, ou tu es ouverte à d'autres sociétés du CSG? EADS, Arianespace, Air Liquide... sont aussi de bonnes boites 😉

En fait, tout dépend dans quel "milieu" tu te places. Attention, je vais être très caricaturale, j'en suis consciente, mais il y a aussi du vrai dans ces caricatures...
Si tu es au milieu des pompiers de Paris, des militaires (ils sont nombreux ici), la norme est en couple avec enfants. Sauf du côté des très jeunes légionnaires, célibataires. Si tu es au milieu des "missionnaires" (comme on les appelle ici, c'est à dire ceux qui viennent au CNES pour de courtes missions), la norme est célibataire en pointillé (car il y a l'occasion de rencontres...qui ne débouchent pas forcément sur une histoire...). Si tu es au milieu des saramakas, la norme est une femme, plein d'enfants, et un homme, avec souvent plusieurs femmes...etc...etc...
Mais si tu veux te mettre au boulot, hein, n'hésite pas...😏

En fait, en début de carrière, j'avais le choix entre Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyane, et Réunion... Ma soeur, qui connaissait la Guyane et vit en Martinique, m'a déconseillé de venir en Martinique: j'aime trop bouger pour me satisfaire d'une vie sur une île, d'autant que la plage, j'aime bien, mais ce n'est pas non plus une passion...
Elle m'a dit: "Va en Guyane, tu t'éclateras...!". Deux longues ballades et pleins de petits voyages en Guyane et en Amérique du Sud plus tard, je dois bien reconnaître qu'elle a raison...🙂
Ma fille a décidé d'aller travailler en Guyane à KOUROU en pharmacie. Elle ne connait pas du tout ce pays. Elle est donc à la recherche de personne allant travailler là bas et ayant son âge 24 ans afin de ne pas se sentir seule. Pour le 1er mois elle sera logée en colocation mais après elle recherche un logement. Elle sera sur kourou fin aout Jusqu'à fin novembre.
Quel est votre profession et êtes vs déjà intallé là bas. Je partirai avec elle pour 10 jours puis vogue le bateau.

Je compte travailler au centre spatial. Pour le moment je suis à kourou pour 10 jours, afin d'y découvrir la vie et le poste en question. Si cela se concrétise, je viendrai habiter à kourou en septembre-octobre. Je serai ravi de faire la connaissance de votre fille... Vient-elle faire un stage?

D'après la semaine que j'y ai passé, pour se plaire à Kourou, il faut apprécier la chaleur humide, les gros insectes, la nature, le sport (course à pied et cyclisme en majorité), les ballades en pirogue, la pêche au gros... bref les activités sont très "nature".
La ville est assez petite, il y a quelques commerces, et beaucoup de restaurants. Les plats locaux sont excellents, il faut aimer les viandes sauvages; tout se mange.
On croise régulièrement les mêmes têtes, et aussi de nombreux militaires en uniforme, jusqu'en boite de nuit !
Il y a quelques bars et boites de nuit, de quoi sortir et prendre l'apéro. Sinon une soirée sur la plage est vite organisée. Il faut savoir qu'il fait nuit entre 18 et 19h toute l'année. Par contre l'eau n'est pas belle, et les fond sont vaseux à cause de la rivière Kourou. Il faut aller aux iles du salut pour se baigner avec plaisir dans un cadre merveilleux.
La population est très variée, et tous sont très accueillants si on prend la peine de s'adapter à leurs conditions de vie. Il y a de la pauvreté visible, et tous les immeubles et maisons sont protégés par des barreaux aux fenêtres, balcons... il y a donc quelques consignes de sécurité à respecter.
Je pense que le meilleur moyen avant de prendre une décision, est d'y aller et de voir par sois-même. Certains y vont uniquement les primes d'expatriation, d'autres pour la Guyane en elle-même.
N'hésites pas si tu as d'autres questions.

En fait elle vient travailler à la pharmacie pendant 3 mois pour commencer puis peut-être plus longtemps si cela lui plaît. Donc elle y sera en septembre-octobre. Avez vous trouvé facilement à vous loger pour 10 jours?

Il n'est pas si difficile que ça de se loger à Kourou mais c'est très couteux et de plus souvent vétuste. Ma fille à prospecté par internet. BLADA.COM
