Hi there,

We’re boarding a Costa cruise on the Deliziosa next weekend at 11:30 AM. Our flight lands at 10 AM at Trieste Airport. Unfortunately, there’s no train before 11 AM, so we’ll arrive around noon, later than the time indicated on the boarding pass. Could you confirm that we can easily arrive 30 minutes later? I imagine there must be quite a wait to board.

Thanks so much!

Hi there, Where are you boarding? In Venice or in Trieste?

Hi, and what if the boat leaves without you? 🤪 🤪 This schedule is impossible. If the boat sails at 11:30, it sails at 11:30. Isn’t it possible to arrive the day before, stay overnight in a small hotel in Trieste, and board the next day stress-free?

Hi there,

The previous reply wasn’t very friendly, and it doesn’t seem like it came from someone with cruise experience.

If Costa is like other cruise lines, arriving half an hour late for the boarding call isn’t a big deal. The ship usually doesn’t set sail until later in the day.

That said, having little wiggle room can be risky if there are transport issues, strikes, breakdowns, or other delays. It’s better to arrive the day before—plus, it gives you a chance to explore the embarkation city. Especially Trieste, which is a really beautiful city.

Have a great cruise! !

Do you even know who you’re talking to? 🤪 I’ve spent way more days at sea than you have...
