J ai une question concernant l obtention de visa au poste de Ha Tien : des employes d une agence de voyage a Kampot m ont dit que le visa vietnamien n etait pas necessaire si l on souhaitait seulement se rendre (de Kep) a Phu Quoc (sejour sur l ile inferieur a 15 j) ?
Auriez vous svp des infos a ce sujet ?
(en effet, je ne suis ni a PP, ni a Sihanoukville, donc impossible de faire une demande de visa).

Effectivement ici a Kep beaucoup d'agences mentionnent le visa free pour Phu Quoc, mais j'ai aussi eu des infos contradictoires par des expat, donc difficile de savoir ce qu'il en est !...

je suis étonné de la démarche commerciale des agences de voyages..la prudence s'impose..aller sur le site internet offciel du Vietnam et regarder les conditions..les visa free c'est pour les ressortissants de l'asean ceci dit..je n'ai jamais testé..et (possible vous pouvez peut être passer en douce dans certaine frontière et si vous devez repartir depuis Hochiminh ville pour Europe..sans le visa d'entrée et autorisation du Vietnam vous aurez peut être quelques soucis..à moins que les agences du cambodge connaissent les agences du Vietnam.et on vous fait un visa on arrival..mais celà je ne suis pas sur non plus par la frontière de Kep..

C est vrai qu il y a l exemption de visa pour les 15 jours a Phu Quoc. Mais, il vous faut venir par avion a Saigon/Hanoi/Danang, puis vol pour Phu Quoc. Quand vous arrivez a l 'aeroport international de Saigon/Hanoi/Danang, vous devez rester dans l aeroport pour attendre le vol de connection a Phu Quoc.
A votre arrivee a Phu Quoc, si vous souhaitez partir vers d autres provinces au Vietnam, vous pouvez demander le visa a Phu Quoc.
Mais pour votre cas, si je comprends bien, vous souhaitez prendre le bus/bateau pour arriver a Ha Tien avant de venir sur Phu Quoc, et alors, dans ce cas la vous avez besoin d un visa, je crois

Tu pourrais très bien te baser à Kep et faire une excursion de quelques jours sur Phu Quoc et dans le delta du Mékong . Décrire Kep , difficile avec des mots , mais c'est trés sympa, il y a plein de ballades à faire: Secret beach, Rabbit island et plein d'autres . J'ai mis des posts sur mon blog avzec des renseignements (guesthouse) tuktuk driver , mais il faut chercher un peu ! bonne ballade !

Kep , personnellement , j'adore, c'est un endroit " Coup de Coeur", bien sur c'est calme et reposant , mais combien agréable ! je compte y retourner cette année. Il ya deux ans , le visa vietnamiem pour aller à phu quoc n'était pas nécessaire, si le retour se faisait par le même poste de douanne . Je compte y passer 4 jours en Décembre ! Quand à répondre si cela est nécessaire? pour moi , étant né au Vietnam, j'aurai un petit pincement au coeur , mais tu trouveras au Cambodge, il me semble, des plages aussi jolies.

STATUTE REGULATION ON FOREIGNERS’ ENTRY INTO, EXIT FROM, AND RESIDENCE IN PHU QUOC ISLAND KIEN GIANG PROVINCE
(Issued together with the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 229/2005/QĐ-TTg of September 16, 2005)
Chapter I ENTRY INTO, AND EXIT FROM PHU QUOC ISLAND
Article 1.- Phu Quoc island (excluding areas exclusively planned for public security or defense purpose) shall be eligible for entry and exit preferences specified in Clause 1, Article 3 of the Prime Minister’s Decision No, 53/2001/QD-TTG of April 19, 2001, on policies toward border-gate economic zones.
Article2.- Foreigners and Vietnamese holding foreign passports (hereinafter referred collectively to as foreigners) who enter, exit from, and reside in Phu Quoc island, for a stay period not exceeding 15 days shall be exempt from visas; foreigners who enter an international border-gate of Vietnam and stay in its transit lounge before traveling to Phu Quoc island shall also be exempt from visas.
Citizens of countries entitled to visa exemption shall observe current regulations.
Article 3.-
1. Foreigners arriving at the island by the sea through Phu Quoc international border-gate shall carry out entry procedures with the entry and exit management body right at the border-gate; foreigners traveling to Phu Quoc island by air shall carry out entry procedures at Vietnam ‘s international airports, then stay in transit lounges of these air ports before taking domestic fights to Phu Quoc island.
2. When carry out entry procedures, foreigners shall have to produce their passports which are still valid for at least 45 days.
Article 4.- In cases where, after coming to Phu Quoc island, visitors wish to travel to other localities, the entry and exit management body shall consider and grant visas to them right in Phu Quoc island; if they wish to stay in Phu Quoc more than 15 days, the entry and exit management body shall consider and extend their sojourn period.
Article 5.- Crew members holding valid foreign crew members’ books or crew member’s passport may enter, exit from, and reside in Phu Quoc island during the period when their ships anchor at Phu Quoc island.
Article 6.- As from the effective date of this Regulation, the Ministry of Defense shall, after reaching agreement with the Ministry of Public Security and the People’s Committee of Kien Gaing province, report to the Prime Minister on the demarcation of Phu Quoc island areas exclusively planned for public security or defense purposes, publicize these areas and put up specific direction and no-entry signboards for each area.
Chapter II RESIDENCE IN PHU QUOC ISLAND
Article 7.- Foreigners entering Vietnam through Phu Quoc international border-gate shall be granted right at the border-gate by the entry and exit management body certificates for a sojourn period corresponding to the visa-exemption period; foreigners who are lawfully sojourning in Vietnam, when arriving at Phu Quoc island, shall not have to carry out procedures for sojourn certification but report thereon according to current regulations.
Article 8.- Once in Phu Quoc island, foreigners may freely reside and travel there in accordance with the registered entry purposes, except for no-entry areas and areas exclusively planned for public security or defense purpose; if they want to enter such areas, they must obtain permission of competent agencies according to the Provision of the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 160/2004/QD-TTg of September 6, 2004, no-entry areas and locations.
Article 9.- Foreigners who apply for the extension of their sojourn period, change in registered sojourn purposes, grant supplementation or amendment of visas, or grant of sojourn cards or residence cards, shall carry out procedures with the entry and exit management body of Phu Quoc Police in person or through other agencies, organizations or individuals. The order, procedures and time limits therefore shall comply with the Ordinance on Entry, Exit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam and the Government’s Decree No. 21/2001/ND-CP detailing the implementation of the Ordinance on Entry, Exit and Residence of Foreigners in Vietnam.
Chapter III UPGRADING OF MATERIAL FOUNDATIONS IN SERVICE OF ENTRY AND EXIT ACTIVITIES IN PHU QUOC ISLAND
Article 10.- The People’s Committee of Kien Giang province shall coordinate with relevant ministries and branches in submitting soon to the Prime Minister a plan on upgrading Phu Quoc border-gate airport into an international airport and An Thoi Port into an international seaport. The Ministry of Public Security shall arrange personnel and means for the entry and exit management at the two international border-gates of Phu Quoc island. In the immediate future, the entry and exit management body of the Ministry of Public Security and local relevant agencies shall arrange personnel and means for the carrying out of entry and exit procedures of foreigners according to regulations applicable to international border-gates.
Article 11.- The People’ Committee of Kien Giang province shall coordinate with relevant ministries and branches in investing in material foundations and providing funds for entry and exit management work so as to meet the requirements for foreigners’ entry into, exit from, and residence in Phu Quoc island.
Chapter IV MECHANISM FOR COORDINATION IN MANAGEMENT OF FOREIGNERS
Article 12.- The Ministry of Public Security shall have to guide the implementation of this Regulation; and coordinate with the People’ Committee of Kien Giang province and relevant ministries and branches in organizing the implementation of this Regulation.
Article 13.- The Ministry of Defense shall have to settle entry and exit procedures for foreigners entering or leaving Phu Quoc island by sea; and ensure public security and defense for Phu Quoc island.
Article 14.- The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism shall have to direct and perform the specialized management over companies organizing tours to Phu quoc island; these companies shall have to manage tourists, ensuring that tourists enter and stay in the island in compliance with the permitted entry purposes and residence period, and coordinate with functional agencies in settling problems related to tourists.
Article 15.- The People’s Committee of Kien Giang province shall, within the scope of its tasks and powers, have to coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security in directing Kien Giang Police to perform the state management over foreigners entry into, exit from, and residence in Phu Quoc island.
Article 16.- Agencies, organizations and individuals that invite or guarantee guests to Phu Quoc island shall have to ensure that their guests enter and stay in the island in compliance with the permitted entry purposes and residence period ensure funds and coordinate with state agencies in settling issues related to their guests.

Article2.-des Étrangers et le Vietnamien tenant des passeports étrangers (ci-après attribué collectivement à comme les étrangers) qui entre, la sortie d'et résident dans Phu Quoc l'île, pendant une période de séjour pas excédant 15 jours sera exempts de visas; Les étrangers qui entrent dans une porte de frontière internationale du Viêt-Nam et le séjour dans sa salle de transit avant le voyage à Phu Quoc l'île seront aussi exempts de visas. Les citoyens de pays ayant droit à l'exemption de visa observeront des règlements actuels.
Article 3.-1. Les étrangers parvenant à l'île par la mer par Phu Quoc la porte de frontière internationale effectueront des procédures d'entrée avec l'entrée et quitteront l'organe de direction directement à la porte de frontière; les étrangers voyageant à Phu Quoc l'île effectueront par avion des procédures d'entrée au Viêt-Nam ' s des aéroports internationaux, resteront ensuite dans les salles de transit de ces aéroports avant la prise de batailles domestiques(intérieures) à Phu Quoc l'île.
2. Quand effectuent des procédures d'entrée, les étrangers devront produire leurs passeports qui sont toujours valables pendant au moins 45 jours.
L'article 4.-Dans des cas(affaires) où, après l'arrivée à Phu Quoc l'île, les visiteurs veulent voyager à d'autres environs, l'entrée et l'organe de direction de sortie considérera et leur accordera des visas directement dans Phu Quoc l'île; s'ils veulent rester dans Phu Quoc plus de 15 jours, l'entrée et l'organe de direction de sortie considéreront et prolongeront(étendront) leur période de séjour.
L'article 5.-Membres d'équipage(équipe) tenant les livres des membres d'équipage(équipe) étrangers valables ou le passeport du membre d'équipage(équipe) peuvent entrer, la sortie d'et résider dans Phu Quoc l'île pendant la période où leurs bateaux ancrent à Phu Quoc l'île.
L'article 6.-Comme de la date d'entrée en vigueur de ce Règlement, le Ministère de la Défense fera(sera), après l'accord s'étendant avec le Ministère de Sécurité publique et le Comité Des gens(Populaire) de Kien Gaing la province(le domaine), le rapport au Premier ministre sur la démarcation de Phu Quoc des zones(domaines) d'île exclusivement planifiées pour la sécurité publique ou des buts de défense, rendre public ces zones(domaines) et lèvera la direction spécifique et sans entrée des enseignes pour chaque zone(domaine). On accordera II RÉSIDENCE au chapitre DANS PHU QUOC l'Article d'ÎLE
7.-Étrangers entrant dans le Viêt-Nam par Phu Quoc la porte de frontière internationale directement à la porte de frontière par l'entrée et les certificats d'organe de direction de sortie pendant une période de séjour correspondant à la période d'exemption de visa; les étrangers qui sont légalement sojourning au Viêt-Nam, en parvenant Phu Quoc l'île
merci encore! Dans ce cas, je trouve une petite agence dans les rues de kep et le tour est joué! Comment équilibrer un petit séjour entre Kep et Phu Quoc sachant que nous disposons de 3 semaines sur place? 2 nuits + 2 nuits? un peu plus?
Perso cette année, je compte rester 4 jours à Phu Quoc , histoire de passer Noël tranquillement , par contre , je trouve les prix des hôtels et des bungalows relativement chers et je n'ai pas du tout envie de reserver sur internet même s'ils proposent le remboursement en cas d'annulation ! I’m planning a trip to Laos from France with a transit through Thailand involving 2 entries. I might spend up to 7 days max in Thailand (round trip).
The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."
How do you think the counting is done?

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’m heading to Seoul in September, and to do that I need to get a travel authorization that we apply for through K-ETA....... turns out I can (barely, I admit) fill out the form up to the address of our "stay location," but every address I’ve entered has been rejected by the system. I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

We’ll soon be moving to Madagascar long-term.
As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).
If you have any info on this, I’d appreciate your replies.

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

There are rumors going around about the ETA: it must absolutely be on your smartphone in the "ETA" app.
Paper documents might not be accepted.

We need to apply for a B2 visa because we visited Iran in 2018. It currently costs $185, but they’re planning an additional $250 fee per person for the same visa—it’s been approved but not yet implemented. Does anyone know when this fee will take effect?

In November, we're heading off on a 4-month trip. We'll be landing in China and plan to leave the country via a land border into Vietnam.
I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.
Has anyone here been in this situation recently?
Did the airline ask for an exit ticket before boarding?
Did Chinese authorities require proof upon arrival?
Is a train/bus ticket to Vietnam sufficient?
Is a cancelable or flexible reservation accepted?
