Je me rends prochainement au Burkina / Togo / Bénin.
J'ai cru comprendre qu'il était possible d'obtenir le Visa de l'entente à Ouagadougou. Mais j'aurais besoin d'informations à jour si par hasard quelqu'un les a :
- Est-il possible en ce moment de faire le visa de l'entente à Ouagadougou ?
- Est-il vrai que ce visa n'est délivré que si l'on dispose AU MOINS de 2 mois sur son visa Burkinabé (ce qui oblige à prendre un visa de 90 jours en France, plus cher qu'un visa de transit...) ?
- Savez-vous si la durée du visa (2 mois si je ne me trompe pas) commence à s'écouler dès sa date de délivrance ? Grosso modo, si j'arrive au Burkina avec un visa de 3 mois et que je compte rester plus de 2 mois au Burkina / Togo / Bénin, ai-je intérêt à attendre quelques semaines avant de demander mon visa de l'entente ?
Perso j y ai tellement rien compris, les infos recues pas evidences et sur place c est pareil , finalement j ai pris les visas normaux...

Une amie a réussi à l'obtenir à Ouaga il y a un an, mais visiblement, ce ne fut pas simple, car personne ne savait vraiment comment lui délivrer ça avec nombre d'informations contradictoires. Je ne saurais malheureusement en dire plus, faute d'info, mais conclusion, c'est possible, mais pas simple et s'armer de patience !
Non j ai renonce et pris mes visas de facon "normal" ... Sur place j ai joue la facilite pour la paperasse. Comme dit onechai, c est pas simple, le personnel concerne .... Ne l est souvent pas, concerne, et pire on peut se heurter a de la desinformation et a l applicaton tres restrictive des textes.
Donc basta, j ai reserve mon energie pour autre chose. 🙂
Mais les visas sur place sont moins chers que pris en france.

Oui je confirme on peut faire le visa de l'entente pour Togo Bénin s'il te reste 60 jours sur ton visa BF. ça se fait à la sureté vers Goughin et c'est 25000
ce visa de l'entente n'est plus valable pour la côte d'ivoire.

Nous arriverons à Ouagadougou à 9h15, direction la Sûreté où nous devons faire faire les visas de l’Entente pour poursuivre notre petit tour de l’Afrique de l’Ouest.
Tout va bien, il nous reste encore 60 jours sur le visa du Burkina. Avec 2 photos, 25000 cfa par visa et le passage par plusieurs bureaux (c’est nouveau cette année), retour à la case départ : nous aurons nos visas demain à partir de 16h ! Parfait.

Petite précision/info: Les visas sur palce sont bien plus cher que pris en France:
En France: 70 euros pour un visa 1 entrée 3 mois (court séjour)
Sur place: 90 000f pour la même chose ! (137 euros !!!) Renseignements pris auprès des services concernés

Je n'ai pas parlé du Bénin, mais du Burkina. Ce sont les services des douanes qui m'ont informée du prix. Mais tu es obligé d'avoir un visa pour entrer au pays, que veux tu dire quand tu dis je ne prends pas de visa d'avance ?

ça m'intéresserait beaucoup d'avoir un contact, des coordonnées avant de partir, pour pouvoir les appeler et être sure que ça n'a pas changé, car la surprise une fois sur place n'est pas très agréable.... Ce n'est pas que je n'ai pas confiance, mais je viens d'avoir des infos au téléphone, des consulats à Paris et à Ouaga, et tous me disent que ceci n'existe pas, et que le seul visa possible est à 33 000 à Paris et à 40 000 à Ouaga !!

Comme la discussion date un peu et que la dernière question n'a pas été répondue, je relance un peu le fil car ça m'intéresse énormément ! Je suis en train de pré-construire autant que raisonnable mon voyage du mois d'août : je commence par un Paris - Dakar par avion, puis Dakar - Abidjan par avion toujours. Une fois à Abidjan, je prends la route (via les bus) pour Ouagadougou. De Ouaga, je compte descendre le Benin, passer par le Togo puis remonter le Ghana avant de reprendre un vol de Ouaga à Paris.
Du coup évidemment, après 1200euros de billets d'avion et le coût de 3 visas (CI / BF et Ghana), j'avoue qu'un petit visa de l'entente à 25.000 FCFA serait le bienvenu pour le Togo et le Benin !
J'ai envoyé des mails aujourd'hui aux ambassades du Bénin, du BF et du Togo avec un tout petit espoir d'avoir au moins 1 réponse. Je me rends demain matin à l'ambassade de Côte d'Ivoire pour voir si mon visa précédent peut-être rallongé (prolongement d'un visa qui expire le 5 août... alors que je re-rentre sur le territoire le 9 ^^), peut-être auront-ils aussi des infos. Peut-être qu'une visite aux ambassades du BF et/ou du Ghana vont s'imposer aussi.
Bref, je m'égare, tout ça pour dire qu'un update sur le VTE s'impose =)

Nous confirmons les renseignements donnés précédemment. Nous avons pris une nouvelle fois notre visa de l'Entente à Ouaga au mois de février 2018 : Toujours le même prix dans les mêmes conditions au même endroit.

A part passer par lome Cotonou on a une possibilité de route au nord pour passer du bénin au Togo ? ( niveau securitaire on nous déconseille de passer directement du bénin au burkina). Merciiiii

La seule chose que l'on peut vous dire c'est ce que l'on a vécu cette année et les autres années d'ailleurs : visa de l'entente pris à Ouaga (voir notre blog) puis passage au Togo, Bénin et retour au Burkina. Circuit que nous avons fait dans les deux sens .....
Question sécurité, nous n'avons jamais eu de soucis et nous sommes de retour ..... simplement de nombreux contrôles puisque avec notre propre véhicule depuis la France.
Maintenant chacun fait comme il le sent et prend ses responsabilités.

Alors : je suis entrée au Burkina par la CI le 12 août dernier (attention pour un multiples entrées j’ai payé le visa burkinabé 122.000 FCFA !!! Le visa de transit n’existe plus, faites votre visa burkinabé depuis la France !) et une fois à Ouagadougou j’ai bien pu faire le visa de l’entente, contrairement à ce que les ambassades du Benin, du Togo et du Burkina m’avaient répondu par mail ! Avec ce visa à 25.000 de mémoire, j’ai pu arriver au Benin et rentrer au Togo sans problème (même si Franchement à la frontière ils n’aiment jamais ça, font mine de pas connaître et te posent 1 million de questions pour te faire ch***^^).
Attention néanmoins si mes souvenirs sont bons le visa de l’entente n’est valable que pour 1 seule entrée dans chaque pays !
Pardon j’ai oublié de préciser je suis rentrée du Burkina au Benin par la route Fada - Natitinqou. C’est effectivement une zone considérée comme dangereuse et de facto il y avait des attentats pendant cette période contre les forces armées burkinabées sur les terrains militaires de la zone. D’apres ce que j’ai compris rien à craindre en tant que « particulier ». Pas de frayeur particulière sur le chemin, mais je n’ai pas non plus trop pris le risque de me balader seule de nuit pendant mes escales.
Ah et tant que j’y pense, ceux qui font CI -> Burkina, attendez vous à des dizaines de contrôles même en bus !! Sérieusement de la frontière Ivoirienne à Bobo j’ai du descendre 8 fois pour un controle d´identité en pleine nuit... aaaah l’Afrique !

Car si tu as bien lu tout le fil de discussion les informations qui proviennent de mes messages datent d’il y a quatre mois donc c’est plutôt récent. En ce qui me concerne j’ai fait par la route Côte d’Ivoire Burkina Bénin Togo et Ghana. J’ai pris mon visa pour la Côte d’Ivoire par Internet ( validé à l’arrivée à l’aéroport ) puis celui du Burkina Faso à la frontière ( ce que je déconseille fortement voir mes messages précédents ) une fois à Ouagadougou lors de la validation de mon visa Burkinabé j’ai demandé le visa de l’entente pour le Bénin et Togo. J’avais déjà fait le visa pour le Ghana à Paris car ils sont très compliqués à l’immigration dans ce pays. Avant de partir au mois de juillet j’avais envoyé des mails aux ambassade du Bénin Burkina et Togo concernant le visa de l’entente , j’avais aussi demandé la formation À l’ambassade de la Côte d’Ivoire à Paris et à l’unanimité tous m’avaient répondu que les visas de l’entente n’existait plus. Fort à parier que ça ne les arrange pas du tout cette histoire de visa commun et qu’ils font tout pour que les visas soient pris individuellement pour chaque pays. Donc bon courage pour trouver des informations à distance^^ J’avais sillonner les sites Internet les forums avant de partir mais c’était aussi sans succès donc j’ai du voir par moi-même une fois sur place.
Nous partons à 4 personnes au Burkina du 21 novembre au 10 décembre. Plusieurs interrogations: Tout d'abord le prix du visa serait de 70 euros maintenant, mais…

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

The information I’ve found about whether an international permit is required is contradictory. Some sources say you need one, others say you don’t.
Could anyone let me know if an international driver’s permit is necessary to rent a car in Australia (Perth), or if a French license is enough for a 7-day rental?
I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

Is a train/bus ticket to Vietnam sufficient?

Just a question that’s probably been asked before (though usually the other way around for my situation :))
My wife and I are heading to the US.
On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I’m spending a few days in San Pedro de Atacama (Chile) and would like to cross the Argentine border to make a loop toward Salta and then return to Chile to drop off the rental car.
I’ve heard that crossing the border can be tricky!
Is it possible with a rental company’s authorization? Which company, and at what cost?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
I read on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that it’s possible to apply for a temporary driving permit in China, valid for 1 month.
I’m planning to rent a car (without a driver) to explore part of the country next August, so I was wondering:
Has anyone here already gone through this process upon arrival?
How long do the formalities take on the spot?
Is it possible to handle these steps in advance, before arriving in China?
