Je rêve depuis des années d'aller en Russie, je prévois d'y aller dans un an (oui je sais j'ai de la marge), je me renseigne déjà sur les visas et formalités, et j'ai lu qu'ils demandaient le nom de l'employeur, notre activité professionnelle...
Il se trouve que je suis actuellement au RSA et en attente de l'AAH car mes problèmes de santé m'empêchent de travailler normalement. Ce n'est donc pas une situation qui changera l'année prochaine. J'ai donc peur qu'on me refuse le visa parce que je ne travaille pas!
J'imagine que je ne suis pas la seule à avoir été dans ce cas donc je trouverai peut-être des témoignages ici.
Quant à mon ancien travail, s'ils le demandent, c'était à mon compte donc pas d'employeur même si j'étais rattachée à une société (travail en autro-entrepreneur) alors bonjour le bordel!
Est-ce que cela peut poser un problème ? Quels justificatifs peut-on me demander ?

J'ai pu discuter avec un ami qui a été plusieurs fois en Russie, comme il est journaliste il n'a pas donné son vrai métier donc en fait ils n'ont pas vérifié et il n'a pas eu de soucis et en effet il demandait à chaque fois un visa 15 jours.
Je pense finalement faire la Russie en deux fois: Moscou en janvier (pour le noël russe, et Moscou sous la neige c'est typique) une semaine et Saint-Pétersbourg en juin (ça semble être dans une éternité!! enfin j'attends depuis longtemps je suis pas à ça près) pour 15 jours donc visa 15 jours à chaque fois.
J'y vais avec un ami qui a été plusieurs fois en Russie, il ne travaillait pas à l'époque mais bon il était invité chez quelqu'un et avait indiqué étudiant je crois, il n'a pas eu de soucis après c'était il y a 12 ans...
Je vais indiquer mon ancienne profession à mon adresse vu que je bossais à mon compte je pense.
Donc les informations se rejoignent .....deux beaux voyages en perspective .
Pour le deuxième, en juin prochain ( c'est loin 😕 ) , nous nous retrouverons peut-être encore sur ce forum car je pense y aller aussi . J'ai très envie de voir ces longues journées où le soleil ne se couche jamais vraiment , et de marcher le long des canaux au milieu de la nuit ....

Par contre j'ai peur d'avoir trop froid à Moscou en janvier, je suis frileuse et je trouve ça dur de trouver des vêtements très chauds en France, en plus si je pars ce sera avec wizz air donc petit sac seulement (limitations de bagages un peu excessives mais bon ce sont les seuls low-cost à aller là-bas et je peux pas me permettre plus)
Mais Moscou sous la neige ce doit être tellement typique!!😉

Le métier n'a pas d'importance. Tu peux marquer "consultant" et mettre l'adresse, n° tél de celui qui te paie. Tu mets par exemple R.S.A. (initiales)
Pour le visa de 30 jours, il demande les preuve de paiement de l'hôtel et le trajet que tu comptes effectué en Russie, en principe. pas pour un visa inférieur à 15 jours.
Noël à Moscou c'est bien, je te conseille principalement le nouvel an russe (le 14 janvier). Pour info, ils sont en congé la première semaine de janvier, mais tout est ouvert.
Pour la neige, les routes et les trottoirs sont dégagés, normalement, et la neige récupérée pour l'eau.
Pour l'entreprise qui te délivrera le "voucher", ce sont des entreprises agrées. L'ambassade contrôle le numéro d'agrégation. et c'est renouvelé tous ans.

Que je te comprends . Je suis très frileuse , moi aussi .
Tu peux porter les chaussures et la veste pour partir plutôt que de les mettre dans ton bagage en soute . Ainsi tu les as tout de suite sur toi pour sortir de l'avion . Dans ton sac -cabine , tu peux ajouter les gants . Ainsi dans ton bagage, il n'y a plus que les vêtements de change qui iront sous la veste : plus ou moins les mêmes qu'ici pour l'hiver , beaucoup de fins pulls en laine , ça me paraît bon .(non ?)
Et puis, pour une semaine , il ne faudra pas énormément de vêtements de change .

Oui j'ai des gants écharpes bonnet, mais je crains surtout pour les jambes car je suis très frileuse à cet endroit en fait... ici l'hiver je mets des robe (d'hiver!) avec des collants épais mais je pense pas que ça suffise en Russie, faudra que je me trouve un pantalon bien chaud. J'ai une doudoune mais je sais pas si ça suffira. Ah quelle galère d'être frileuse!!
Par contre de ce que je sais le nouvel an c'est le même que chez nous, l'ami avec qui je pars avait fêté l'an 2000 là-bas et c'était bien fin décembre! il était resté jusqu'au noël russe (c'était son anniversaire en plus). A l'époque ils ramassaient pas toute la neige, il a bien failli se casser la gueule!
Je n'ai pas de bottes chaudes, j'ai de grosses chaussures de marche, j'espère que ça suffira (avec de supers chaussettes!!)

Moscou ce n'est pas la Sibérie. Il ne faut pas mettre de vêtements d'été. c'est tout.
De bonnes chaussures c'est suffisant, on peut toujours mettre des collants sous le pantalon.
Les robes sont assez rare en hivers. mais les femmes restent coquettes.
C'est le vent qui est embêtant.
Faire attention quand on marche, il y a toujours des stalactites qui tombent.
Le nouvel an le plus fêté est celui du 14 janvier. (pour moi). et c'est légèrement différent de la France.
Noël est fêté le 25, la journée, en principe. rare le réveillon
Pour l'employeur, reste honnête, marque celui qui te paie. soit C.A.F. et son adresse; c'est rarement vérifié.
Bien remplir sa demande de visa, signer dans la couleur demandée. etc.
Ton assurance doit couvrir l'intégralité de ton séjour, ton voucher aussi. les dates doivent concorder.
Pour 15 jours; tu ne devrais pas avoir de problèmes.
En appartement, si tu passes par une société, demander si elle enregistre la carte d'immigration. Dans l'hôtel, c'est fait automatiquement. Ne pas la perdre, il faut la remettre quand on s'en va. à la douane.

Oui les vestiaires, mais je voulais dire si on met des pulls bien chauds on ne va pas les enlever quand on est à l'intérieur (enfin je fais pas de strip-tease) donc c'est juste valables pour les manteaux, gants, écharpes, bonnets.
Je n'ai plus de pantalons faut vraiment que j'en trouve un chaud (avec collants en-dessous bien sûr), et oui je sais ça parait dingue de nos jours une fille qui ne met que des robes à toutes saisons 😎
Certes j'ai des "revenus", faibles, mais apparemment ils demandent bien le métier et "être au RSA" n'en est pas un et apparemment il n'y a pas la case "chômeur", je sais même pas s'il y a la case "handicapé" ou "arrêt maladie"...
Je ne sais pas encore où je logerai, si c'est un appart par particulier j'imagine qu'il faudra trouver un voucher autrement, ou alors un appart géré par un organisme qui peut en faire un, mais bon ça à la rigueur c'est un peu du détail...
Mon ami qui est allé récemment en Russie est passé par une agence qui a fait le visa et lui a trouvé un appart, mais j'ai peur que ce ne soit un peu cher (déjà Moscou tout court parait que c'est cher)

rien ne vous empêche de déposer un gilet et les chaussures aussi. Les Russes ne gardent pas leurs grosses bottes d'hiver en intérieur.

il n'y a pas non plus de case "retraité", mais rien n'empêche les retraités d'aller faire du tourisme en Russie. Et les pensions d'invalidité, ça existe aussi en Russie.
En fait, il y a juste une case où on vous demande "Lieu de travail ou d'études, fonction, adresse, téléphone". A part si vous avez un métier qui attire l'attention des services de contre-espionnage, ce qu'ils veulent surtout savoir, c'est si vous avez des revenus suffisants pour subvenir à vos besoins pendant tout votre séjour en Russie. L'attestation d'assurance est demandée pour les mêmes raisons : pour savoir si en cas de pépin, vous pourrez régler les frais médicaux ou de rapatriement.
Si tu portes toujours des robes et jamais de pantalons , je pense que tu peux faire pareil à Moscou , tu seras plus à l'aise en restant toi-même :
un manteau en doudoune jusqu'aux genoux, un fin pull en laine sous la robe (chaude) et un cardigan par-dessus , un collant chaud (avec pieds) et sur le collant, un legging chaud , et des chaussettes en plus , avec des chaussures chaudes .
Je crois que tu devrais être confortable ainsi , c'est important pour se balader .
Et des boissons chaudes pour les pauses .

(en principe confirmation de paiement fait d'office pour les vouchers inférieur à 15 jours. un cachet en russe.)

La société qui délivre un voucher est agrée. Si l’hôtel ne l'est pas, il passe par une société.
Oui, Moscou est cher, mais on peut trouver à manger bon marché sans problèmes. Les transports en commun, métro, bus, microbus, trolley ne sont pas chers.
Pour vous habiller, éviter le style "babouchka". rester coquette et maquillée.
Si vous êtes invitée dans un appartement ou une maison chez quelqu'un, ne pas oublier d'enlever ses chaussures.
Quand vous rentrer dans une église, chapelle orthodoxe, ne pas oublier de mettre un foulard sur la tête. sauf peut-être les églises touristiques.

Quand je parlais de "cher" je pensais surtout à l'hébergement, vu que Moscou est une des villes les plus chères du monde en ce qui concerne l'immobilier. Mais pour le moment j'ai pas encore regardé les prix en détails. Et oui parait que pour manger dehors, boire un café ou un thé, c'est pas très cher.
On ne cherche pas à être forcément en plein centre car on va payer plus cher. Si certains ont des adresses/sites pour trouver un petit studio à bon prix, je suis preneuse!
C'est sûr que c'est important d'être à l'aise, donc être en mode Bibendum c'est pas le mieux pour marcher!! J'ai une bonne doudoune, des robes chaudes, je mettrais un sous-pull Damart que j'ai (un truc tout fin donc qui ne prend pas trop de place sous les vêtements) un gilet, et pour les jambes j'ai le temps de réfléchir! Je pensais même acheter des trucs là-bas, par exemple un collant polaire super épais qu'on ne trouvera jamais en France. Pour les pieds je pense que mes bonnes chaussures de marche suffiront.

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
I read on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that it’s possible to apply for a temporary driving permit in China, valid for 1 month.
I’m planning to rent a car (without a driver) to explore part of the country next August, so I was wondering:
Has anyone here already gone through this process upon arrival?
How long do the formalities take on the spot?
Is it possible to handle these steps in advance, before arriving in China?
