Après avoir fait un post concernant les USA et face aux difficultés que nous risquons de rencontrer, je vous interroge sur l'expatriation au Cambodge. Nous sommes un couple avec 2 enfants 3 et 11 ans, mon mari sera à la retraite cette année, je prends de mon côté une année sabbatique, nous ne serons donc pas à la recherche d'un emploi. Ce pays nous attire beaucoup, nous avons fait des courts séjours en Thailande et au Vietnam et nous avons étés subjugués par l'asie.
Nous pensons nous installer à PP, est il facile de louer une maison et quel coût pour un petit jardin avec 2 ou 3 chambres si possible dans le secteur du Lycee français ou un appartement également. Votre expérience sur le pays nous serait très utile 😉 Nous pensons ne pas nous séparer de nos deux toutous (petits gabarits) rencontrerons nous des difficultés. Voila nos interrogations
Je peu donner des impresion de voyageurs car j'y reviens mais pas sur les écoles et autres chose précise.
Moi je pencherait plus pour la côte mais la Ville est pratique. Pnom phen est surpernamment propre comparé à la campagne environante

Secteur Lycée Descartes, c'est assez cher, il y a des villas qui se louent à + de 1 000$/mois pour 2-3 chb+jardin, sinon, les appartements de 3 chambres abordables (5-600 $) mais il faut les trouver car à part les agences (très peu nombreuses pour le Cambodge) via le Net.
Le mieux est le bouche-à-oreille ... je sais que ce n'est pas facile ni pratique pour vous.
Roger a raison, malheureusement il faut oublier vos compagnons à 4 pattes.
Le Cambodge reste encore le pays le plus facile à vivre au niveau paperasseries, prolongation de visa etc... car on ne te demande pas d'avoir 400 000 baht voire 800 000 bahts pour 1 couple, gelés sur le compte bancaire thailandais par exemple si tu te décides de vivre en Thailande.
Le mieux c'est de trouver une GH pour 15j et faire vos recherches sur place. Une fois sur place, ça se trouve facilement...
Attention, demander le visa business pour tous les 2 à l'ambassade du Cambodge à Paris avant le départ, 25 ou 30€ (je ne me souviens plus) puis 3-4 jours avant la fin du visa, allez refaire prolonger sur place c'est dans les 270 $/personne et valable 1 an.
Pour info : 400 000 b = environ 8 000 € soit 16 000 €/couple

NON, le visa business ne s'obtient pas à l'aéroport.
Ils te disent OUI, ils te prennent 25$ au lieu de 20$ (visa touristique), il te donne un reçu sur 25$ mais sur le visa, ils ne te délivrent
pas le sésame "business"...un de mes amis en a fait l'expérience.
Alors, on pense qu'ils gardent les 5 $ et se les partagent entre eux.
Visa business à demander à Paris AVANT le départ, ça coûte + cher 25€ mais plus facile à faire prolonger sur place car attention au bout
d'un mois, tu dois aller le faire prolonger et régler les 270 $ ou environs.
Possible...les choses changent..Et ne sont peut etre pas systematiques ! Connais tu le cout officiel du renouvellement mensuel du visa tourisme (un mois seulement, après, il faut sortir...) ?

pour trouver une maison, un moyen qui peut être efficace est de copiner avec des expats qui sont là depuis un moment. Ils connaissent souvent les maisons qui se libèrent. Pour rencontrer ces fameux expats, il faut les chercher dans les bars et restau dont les patrons sont français, ils s'y retrouvent souvent boire un verre le soir. Mais voir aussi dans les écoles françaises.
Pour ma part, et ceci est un point de vue très personnel, je ne sais pas si j'aimerai habiter phnom penh. Par contre j'ai vécu 5 mois à siem reap, et c'est très agréable, ça à un coté plus campagne, moins stress. Il n'y a pas de lycée français à Siem reap, par contre il ya une école, mais pas homologuée par l'état français car trop petite.
J'avais à Siem reap des amis qui avaient emmené chien et chats, ça doit donc être possible.

la recherche d'une petite maison avec jardinet est surtout pour que nos filles aient un peu d'espace exterieur et également pour nos amis à quatre pattes car plus facile de les sortir sans problème, PP à retenu notre attention effectivement par rapport au Lycée, mais ne connaissant pas du tout la ville nous risquons peut être une fois sur place être déçu par l'environnement ou le bruit 😕 pas facile de se projeter à distance sans connaitre l'endroit. Donc votre avis est pour nous une bonne indication... Je vais essayer de voir si je trouve des infos sur Siem reap,
J'ai payé la meme chose en aout 2007 ...Alors qu'en 2005, j'avais payé 25 usd...je n'ai pas trouvé d'ecrit officiel sur cette question...j'ai exprimé mon mecontentement car je pensais avoir à faire à une arnaque...et le prix ne figure bien sur pas sur le visa! Regarde ton passeport!...😉 si les voyageurs ne restent que peu de jours après la fin de leur visa touristique de un mois ils ont interet a payer l'amende forfaitaire!😏😏😏

Tous les quartiers de PP ne sont pas bruyants, il y a encore des endroits tres tranquilles
Pour trouver une maison, s adresser aux agents immobiliers, il y en a des tonnes, ils ont des agences un peu partout, beaucoup dans le quartier beung keng kong. Ils vous feront visiter suivant vos critères.
Les maisons sont tres cheres maintenant. Les loyers ont quasi doublé en 5 ans, et aujourd hui c 'est difficile de trouver maison avec jardin et trois chambres à moins de 1000 USD par mois
Le lycée descartes qui fait classe de petite section a la terminale, est aussi très cher.
L'école de Siem reap n'est pas homologuée par l'éducation nationale française, mais un partenariat est officiellement en cours entre le lycée descartes et cette école, avec accompagnement des instituteurs, échanges pédagogiques etc.
Amener son chien ? il va avoir chaud, il doit etre vacciné contre la rage, mais ce n'est pas impossible, je connais plusieurs personnes qui sont venues avec des chiens.

Oui en effet pour une maison avec 3 chambres 1000 USD c'est couteux, nous pensions à 2 chambres éventuellement nos filles s'entendent bien 😉 concernant l'école notre fille n'est pas vraiment emballée à l'idée de quitter ses copines alors le compromis était qu'elle suive ses études dans une école française de façon à ce qu'elle soit rapidement intégrée ...

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
