Nous cherchons des infos sur la ville de Kandi, dans le nord-est du Bénin en vue d'une possible expatriation en famille (3 enfants de 1 à 7) : conditions sanitaires, scolaires, présence ou non d'autres occidentaux...

Kandi je connais assez bien puisque j'ai passé une année à Malanville (à 90 km plus au Nord) sur la route qui va au Niger, donc j'y passait très souvent (pour changer de taxi brousse notamment :-) et y'a un bon restaurant de cochon grillé !)
C'est une ville bcp + calme que Malanville (trop calme ??) mais avec TOUS les trucs de base et même plus.
Côté sanitaire, pas bcp d'infrastructures, ça suffit pour la plupart des bobos (y compris palu traité à temps) mais c'est qu'à 2 heures de Parakou (la "capitale" du Nord) où là vous trouverez un très bon médecin et de bons centres de soins (c'est qd même toujours l'Afrique...).
Scolairement parlant, des écoles locales mais bien sûr pas de lycée, encore moins français :-) Les écoles privées ont meilleur réputation, il doit y en avoir. Pour un petit de 7 ans ça doit encore suffire. Côté nounou, pas de problème !
Pour les autres expatriés, à l'époque (2003) y'avait le projet UICN du Parc du W avec un couple de biologistes italiens très sympas et quelques volontaires du Peace Corps. Ca se compte sur les doigts d'une main...
Y'a pas trop d'activités mais c'est sur le principal axe de circulation du pays, Niamey n'est qu'à qq heures, Parakou ou Malanville ne sont pas loin, et surtout la "brousse" permet qq balades sympas (parc du W etc..).
je ne vous cache pas que c'est un peu sauvage et loin de l'ambiance de la capitale mais le Bénin est un pays vraiment formidable !!

Merci Marcel pour ta réponse complète mais hélas le plan sur lequel j'étais s'est fait mais avec d'autres. Il s'agissait d'un job de chargé de mission développement local et communal ouvert par l'association du Centre international de développement et de recherche située à Autrêches (60... et quelques). Volonté de rupture avec le confort de nos vies françaises et de se rendre utiles ailleurs, et en famille (Karine, Laurent et les trois filles Sarah, Juliette et Ludivine).

Ca fait 2 ans (merci à ce forum qu'on puisse encore répondre après 2 ans 😉) que vous m'avez répondu. Je doute que vous reveniez sur ce thread mais sait-on jamais... Voilà je suis à la retraite et je vais aller faire un tour au Bénin. Pour une quinzaine de jours pour voir. Je resterai à Kandi pour essayer de trouver l'endroit où j'ai habité il y a 50 ans (j'ai peu d'espoir mais miracle...). Mais surtout je vais visiter la ville et les alentours. J'aimerais savoir quelle est la meilleure saison et éviter la saison des pluies. Je me passionne aussi pour les langues (en amateur car j'étais juste informaticien) et j'aimerais savoir quelles sont les langues parlées à Kandi. Et puis l'histoire du Bénin et du royaume du Dahomey...

Actuellement entrepreneur dans l'immobilier, transport, je cherche un(e) associé(e) / partenaires/ fondation pour un projet dans l'agriculture donc je suis propriétaire de 10 hectares de terrain.
Les hectares étant inexploités durant des années faute des moyens financiers car le projet nécessite un apport je dirait considérable , acteur principal que je suis je dispose d'un apport minimal.

2) Un mini super marché+une boulangerie moderne en utilisant la farine pour pâtisserie etc...
3) Construire un service de santé
4) Construire une école maternelle et primaire
5) Construire des logements gratuits pour expatriés à la retraite en échange de leurs participations gratuite dans leurs domaines respectives.
Ceci étant un projet dont j'y crois , j'invite toutes personnes intéressées à apporter une touche personnelle, sous la forme d'un conseil, une orientation et enfin une implication.
NB: projet à l'échelle nationale et internationale au niveau de l'emplois.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
