Je pars voyager en août en Espagne et je compte emporter une tablette (style Asus Nexus 7), n'ayant pas de smartphone.
J'espère m'en servir pour avoir des infos pratiques sur le web : réservations, météo, horaires, cartes & plans , ...etc.
Mais qu'en est-il des bornes wi-fi (hotspots gratuits) dans ce pays ? S'il n'y a pas trop de souci à se faire dans les très grandes villes ou les grandes chaînes d'hôtels , je me pose la question concernant les espaces moins peuplés et/ou moins touristiques.
Des forumeurs auraient-ils une expérience dans ce domaine?
Je ne trouve pas d'annuaire de hotspots wifi sur l'Espagne.
Heu .... il n'y a plus personne ?

Non pas Mac Donalds en Espagne alors qu'il y a plein de cafés sympas, de petits resto typiques qui proposent de la wifi gratuite y compris dans les petits villages. Il y a même parfois dans certains villages des spots wifi.
Je n'ai eu aucun problème pour en trouver l'année dernière. Il suffit de demander ou de tester avec son smartphone.
Il y a des Mc Do, des Starbucks en Espagne mais quel dommage d'aller en Espagne pour aller dans ces établissements. Je peux comprendre l'intérêt d'un Starbucks aux USA mais en Espagne... On a du super café dans des endroits beaucoup plus authentiques. Idem pour Mc Do avec des tapas à grignoter dans un ambiance espagnole.
En plus une société comme Starbucks s'arrange pour ne pas payer des impôts dans les pays où elle investit. Il y a eu des appels à boycotter en Angleterre. Ils se retrouvent avantagés par rapport aux établissements locaux.
Je voulais juste mentionner ces points d'accès pour une "urgence" . Surtout pas pour consommer. Mon expérience en Europe , mais pas en Espagne me fait dire qu'avant d"être rendu au café sympa , tu n'est pas certains d'avoir le wifi .Au Mc Do , oui .
Dans mes périples , j'avais la lites des McDoo sur ma route et je programmais mon GPS en conséquence . De ces Mcdo , j'allais à la toilette et je réservais mon hôtel par wifi etc et ensuite je visitait la ville et là je profitais des cafés sympa.
Pas sûr que j'aurais pu faire tout ça dans un café sans consommer. Je me trompe ?

tu trouveras du wifi un peu partout en espagne.
en tout cas j'ai souvent remarqué que les accès gratuits/non protégés étaient bcp plus courant qu'en France par exemple.
Le moindre hôtel/auberge/restaurant, même perdu dans la pampa, possède le plus souvent un accès wifi étonnement non protégé par un code de securité.
les stations services commencent à s’équiper ( Repsol c'est gratos, Campsa aussi, Cepsa ils passaient en gratuit il y a environ deux ans ).
les grandes chaines de fastfood c'est comme en France, accès gratuit.
Dans les zones industrielles et artisanales (poligonos) il suffit de tourner un peu et on trouve aussi des connections non-protégés.

Ce sont des site internets de monsieur et madame tout le monde , je les craindrais pas plus que le café . Site non protégé c"est le propriétaire du site qui n'est pas protégé si tu télécartes pour lui occcasionner des frais ..... Toi tu ne risque pas grand chose à mon point de vue.

Je vais 4 ou 5 fois par an en Espagne , et surtout dans les villages , je n'ai jamais eu de problèmes pour me connecter en général dans les petits café/restaurant/hôtel .
En Grèce je ne sais pas , mais en Espagne je trimballe mon netbook partout , et je n'ai jamais eu de problèmes et pourtant je suis plus village que ville .
je n'ai pas de smartphone et finalement quand je vois tous les gens qui mangent au resto en regardant chacun leur smartphone , sans s'adresser la parole , ou ceux qui font la balade du soir en bord de plage branché sur le dit smartphone , ça ne ma fait pas trop envie, trop peur de devenir autiste .

Je ne me souviens plus où tu vas en Espagne , mais pour l'Andalousie je suis une fan du parc de Cazorla , Ségura y las villas avec la naissance du Guadalquivir . Nombreuses possibilités de pistes . (province de Jaen) .
J'aime aussi les vastes étendues de l’Estrémadure , la vallée ???? là où il y a des cerises ( je retrouverais le nom) .
Le bas Aragon moins connu que la sierra de Guara , mais avec des canyons splendides et des petits villages de toute beauté , même en Août on y est tranquille .

L'autisme est un problème de santé qui est très mal reconnu en France et la manque de soins et d'hébergement est criant .

C'est simplement l'usage abusif et systématique de l'adjectif "autiste" aussi bien dans les forums, que dans les médias par exemple, pour parler de choses qui n'ont rien avoir avec l'autisme.

We're heading to Genoa and the Cinque Terre in mid-October for a full week. We're planning to spend two and a half days—three nights—in the Cinque Terre. We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?
- Is the road through the narrow valley of the White Lütschine toward Lauterbrunnen and beyond still worth it in terms of views and scenery?
On the way back, if we have a little time to explore Bern’s historic old town, what’s the best parking plan for a 1- or 2-hour stop?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.
