Je compte prendre les billets d'avion sur le net parce que c'est moins cher, cela ne pose pas de problème par la suite ? J'ai vu qu'il y avait toujours au moins une escale, les bagages sont ils bien suivis ou faut-il faire attention... je sais pas comment ça marche, et j'ai peur qu'ils me les perdent 😕. Que fait-on pendant l'escale ?
Et concernant tous les papiers, comme la taxe d'aéroport, on la trouve facilement ?
En fait, j'aimerais connaitre le processus à suivre de l'aéroport de Paris à celui de Lima ...

Kelkoovoyage ou easyvols pour trouver ton billet d'avion. Essaie de trouver un vol ou il y a le moins de temps d'attente pendant l'escale... en general à Madrid pour des vols pas trop cher avec Iberria, donc pendant l'escale tu changes d'avion et tu te ballades dans l'aéroport. La taxe d'aéroport est inclus dans le prix TTC du billet d'avion; donc à l'aéroport tu n'auras rien à payer de plus, sauf si tu as de l'excedant 🤪🤪 Carte d'identité inutile à mon avis.TU pars quand?

J'ai l'intention d'attérir à Lima en Avril prochain pour faire 14 jours au Perou, puis 17 en bolivie, puis 5 à Buenos aires, puis 5 à l'ile de paques et 2 à Santiago puis retour Paris. Total 45 jours.

La taxe d'aéroport à Lima, c'est au retour qu'il faut la payer, avant de monter dans l'avion. Juste garder le montant nécessaire à la fin de ton séjour (en soles ou $US). Tu ne pourras pas louper cette étape incontournable après l'enregistrement de tes bagages.

Tes bagages, tu les enregistres au départ pour ton aéroport d'arrivée, et tu ne t'en occupes plus, tu les retrouveras à Lima.
A l'escale, tu n'as qu'à te laisser guider par les instructions. Quelques heures d'attente dans un aéroport, sans te soucier de bagages ou de billets (puisque tu auras tous les billets nécessaires en main dès le premier enregistrement normalement).
Si l'escale est très longue et que tu décides de sortir de l'aéroport pour faire un peu de tourisme, tu auras des formalités de douane à faire alors... mais il faut vraiment que l'escale soit longue (> 6h) ! car tout ceci demande du temps (même si tu n'as pas de bagages).

Totalement inutile. Range-la préciseusement chez toi. Tu pars avec ton passeport + une photocopie de celui-ci au cas où (rangée dans un autre sac que ton passeport).

Ce sont maintenant (généralement) des billets électroniques qui sont émis : pas de billets papiers reçus, un simple mèl à imprimer et emmener avec soi par précaution. Au guichet d'enregistrement de l'aéroport, la simple présentation du passeport suffit à vous retrouver et éditer vos cartes d'embarquement.

J'ai toujours acheté mes billets 2 ou 3 mois avant mon départ (sur expedia) et franchement j'ai toujours réussi à trouver des prix corrects!
Parfois même les prix étaient moins élevés 2 mois avant que lorsque je consultais 6 mois avant!!
En fait le logiciel de réservation est un logiciel mondial et les offres et prix varient d'un jour sur l'autre.......

Oui, je te conseille de prendre l'assurance bagages et l'assurance annulation (on ne sait jamais ce qui peut t'arriver d'ici ton départ) proposées au moment de l'achat du billet ; pour l'assurance santé-rapatriement, vérifie d'abord tes contrats d'assurance perso et de carte bancaire (si tu paie avec) pour voir si tu n'es pas déjà couverte.
Les problèmes de retards obligent normalement la compagnie à gérer ses passagers en attente (Conventions de Varsovie et de Montréal sur les transports aériens)... et va fureter dans la rubrique "compagnies aériennes" : certaines discussions sont centrées sur ces problèmes aériens (ex : http://voyageforum.com/v.f?post=968513#968513).....ou t'informer directement sur le site de la DGAC.
Ces problèmes de bagages ou retard existent sur la destination Pérou, oui, mais ils ne sont quand même pas quotidiens ni systématiques... 😇

si tes bagages ne sont pas là a ton arrivée, n'oubli pas de faire une declaration de perte avant de sortir de l'aeroport, tu verra ils ont l'habitude(une fiche avec plein de photos de sacs a dos, de voyages, de toutes formes et couleurs...tu signale celui qui ressemble le plus au tien)
si tu as pris ton billet avec ta carte bleue (master ou autre)tu es assurée, sinon tu peux prendre une assurance en achetant ton billet d'avion.
tu dois attendre 48h avant de declarer ton bagage perdu(corps et ame!!!)et le declarer a ton assurance, au bout de ses 48h l'aeroport de Lima te donne une indemnité de 80$(en 2005, c'etait le cas) mais pour ton assurance tu ne dois pas depasser 10j, pour acheter ce dont tu as besoin
gardes les factures de tes achats et a ton retour fait une declaration en y joignants ttes ces factures.
en 2005, il ns manquait un sac a dos que ns avons retrouver au bout de 6 semaines(a notre depart)j'ai reclame les 80$, mais n'ayant rien acheter ds le laps de tps de 10j (a part une brosse a dents) ns ns sommes assis sur les choses acheter apres ....
du coup, ns avons fait une partie de notre voyage super leger..

Je vois que tu n'as pas trop l'habitude des voyages internationaux.
Bon il n'y a que le 1er pas qui coute.
Tu vas sur Google et tu tapes "vols Paris-Lima". La taxe d'aéroport est payée en même temps que ton billet, tu n'as pas à t'en soucier.
Et là tu essaies différents liens et tu trouveras forcément. J'ai trouvé il y a 3 semaines un vol pour le 23 juillet 2007 retour le 14 aout pour 1500€, toutes taxes comprises. Escale à Atlanta (USA).
Tu n'as pas besoin de ta carte d'identité, ton passeport est obligatoire (valable 6 mois après ta date de retour). pas besoin de visa, sauf peut-être sur place à Lima (30$ environ)
Dans la ville d'escale, tu ne peux pas sortir de l'aéroport, sauf si tu as une journée, ce qui est rare. Tu repasses à la police de transit (pas à la douane), et tu ne t'occupes pas de tes bagages. Bien sûr à cause de l'escale, tu n'es pas sûre de retrouver toujours tous tes bagages, sauf ceux de cabine, que tu as pris avec toi dans l'avion (généralement une petite valise ou un sac au dos pas trop important, + ton sac photo, ton sac à main ou autre petit sac). Bon heureusement, il n'y a pas trop de perte, ou de retard, sur les millions de bagages qui voyagent, mais quand ça nous arrive pour notre bagage, on s'en fout des autres millions (en 2005, sur 4 valises 3 n'ont pas suivi, et on les a eues sur 3 semaines (British Airways, Paris-Londres - New-York), on a été indemnisé, mais c'est rageant de commencer ses vacances comme ça.
C'est la rançon du voyageur aérien, mais si ton bagage est perdu, tu dois être indemnisée.
Avec la carte bleue tu as 2 ou trois jours pour déclarer le retard (maxi 5 jours), mais pas à ta banque, à VISA Assistance (ou CB Assistance, regarde le livret qu'on t'a donné avec la carte). On te donne un numéro de dossier et ensuite tu reçois une somme (de l'ordre de 250 € avec Visa Premier), je ne sasi pas combien avec la CB. C'est en plus de ce que te donne la compagnie d'aviation. Elle te donne environ 80$ en dépannage pour acheter les produits de 1ere nécessité.
Si ton bagage est définitivement perdu, l'indemnisation peut aller jusqu'à 4000 euros (voir site DGAC), il me semble.
Je me rends compte que je t'ai écrit après tout le monde, mais je maintiens mon message, pour le plaisir de participer.
J'ai concocté un circuit en recherchant des choses classiques et d'autrs qui sortent (un peu) des sentiers battus.
Ne te biles pas, tout va marcher comme sur des roulettes. Une chose, tout de même : si tu as le sommeil difficile, je te conseillerai d'aller dormir dans un hotel aux alentours, mais pas trop près de Roissy (chers), puis taxi, et tu profiteras mieux de ton voyage, fatigant : 18h de vol, avec escale, ce n'est pas terrible, surtout qu'on tourne avec la terre, et la 1ere journée est très longue. Alors si tu n'as pas dormi la nuit précédente, tu peux dire que tes deux premiers jours sont gachés parce que tu es fatiguée. Alors dors mieux avant pour profiter pleinement de ton séjour. Conseil de vieux voyageur !
pour info, il y a des bus de nuit qui vont a charles de gaulle. j'en suis sure, car cet été je l'ai pris dans le sens cdg/paris vers 4h00 du mat. ce n'est pas cher, et il te suffit de chercher les horaires sur internet, il y en a au moin un par heure. ne surtout pas croire les chauffeurs de taxi qui te feront croire qu'il n'y en a pas, en te faisant un "prix" a 40 euros... je peux même te trouver le numéro du bus si tu veux, mais tu l'auras oublié dans un an je crois!!!
La taxe d'aéroport au départ de Lima est de 30, 25$ ou si tu paies en soles de 100, 13s. Ne me demande pas pourquoi ils n'ont pas fait des prix ronds...
Je reviens tout juste du Pérou, donc voici des infos toutes fraiches sur les aeroports.
J'ai pris me billets sur internet, le moins cher que j'ai trouvé quand j'ai reservé c'etait avec American Airlines avec une escale a Miami.
Si tu fais toi aussi escale a Miami, il te faudra recuperer tes bagages apres le passeage a la douanne (tres long, un peu tatillons les americains...) et tu les redonnera quasiment tout de suite pour qu'ils partent dans lavion suivant. Ils auront ete enreistrés pour tout le voyage à l'aeroport de depart, donc ce n'est pas trop contraignant.
A l'allee j'ai eu 2 heures d'escale, un peu juste, j'ai du ourir dans l'aeroport car ils vaient changé la porte dembarqument plusieurs fois... Mais finalement l'avion pour Lima a eu du retard...
Au retour, 5heures d'escales à Miami... La en effet on a bin le temps de visiter l'aeroport, et meme de s'ennuyer... Du coup j'en ai profiter pour commencer le nouvel Harry Potter sorti samedi !
Les taxes d'aeroport etient comprises dans les billets, meme celle au depart de Lima. Si jamais elle n'et pas payée dans ton billet, a Lima tu trouveras facilement où la payer, c'est sur le chemin pour l'embarquement. Et tu peux aussi demander à la personne qui t'enregistre te bagages, elle t'expliquera tout ça.
Tu peux laisser ta carte d'identite en France. Un conseil, on ne sait jamais ce qui peux arriver, scan ton passeport et envoie le sur ta mesaggerie, comme ça si jamais tu le perd, tu auras une photocopie sous la main.

Pour le Machu Picchu, il y a d'autre moyen que le train pour rejoindre le Machu Picchu. En cherchant un peu dan le forum, tu trouveras... Dautres français rencontré à Cusco on fait une partie en bus puis le reste à pieds.

We’ve planned our road trip in Chile, and the only thing left is to book the TABSA ferry from Punta Arenas to Puerto Williams.
Problem: the ferry that leaves Punta Arenas at 1 AM isn’t available for booking, no matter the day or month. All the other departures can be booked, though.
On top of that, Tabsa isn’t responding to any messages.

We’d leave Cusco on Day 1 to arrive at the site in the morning, then stay in Aguas Calientes or Ollantaytambo, and on Day 2 return to Cusco while visiting the Sacred Valley.

We’re thinking of one or two "escapes" from Rio—3-day trips to get away from the city (so not too far, max 3–4 hours by car or bus). We’re all ears for suggestions! We love beautiful nature and authentic experiences, not so much the touristy spots... even though those spots are often in beautiful places, we’d rather avoid them.

I’m planning a trip with my partner (no kids this time—thanks, Grandma!) for two weeks to celebrate her 40th birthday. I’ve been thinking about Chile. We’re looking at leaving around September 18, 2027, starting in the south and returning in early April.
Here’s what I had in mind:
8 nights in a van in the Lake District and the start of the Carretera Austral (up to the Chaitén area). We’re set to arrive in Puerto Montt around 2:00 PM. We don’t want to go too far south since we’re planning to explore the heart of Patagonia (Chile and Argentina) with the kids when they’re older. The idea is to spend 3 nights discovering the lakes (up to Cochamó) and 3 nights in Pumalín Park. I’ve also added two transition nights.
7 nights in the Atacama to experience another side of Chile (San Pedro), taking a domestic flight from Puerto Montt to Calama in the early afternoon. We’ll depart for France in the early evening from Santiago.

The Rodoviária is leaving the Iguatemi area and will now be located in ÁGUAS CLARAS (about twenty kilometers from downtown Salvador).
A brand-new station (the most modern in Brazil) has just been set up there, accessible by car/taxi/Uber/metro.
Allow for much more transfer time (especially during rush hours), so leave early if you're heading to Chapada Diamantina or other Brazilian cities by bus.
Remember, there are also private transfers (even French-speaking ones) that can take you directly from your hotel in Salvador to your hotel in Chapada. Sure, it’ll be more expensive, but you’ll save on transfer time and comfort.

We're planning a trip to southern Chile in November. Here's our tentative itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Santiago, then a flight the next day to Balmaceda where we'll pick up a rental car to reach Coyhaique.
Day 3: Walk in the Coyhaique National Reserve, then continue to Puerto Chacabuco. Return to Coyhaique for the second night.
Day 4: Drive to Villa Cerro Castillo for a hike in the national park. Continue to Puerto Tranquilo and stay there for 3 nights.
Day 5: Boat tour on Laguna San Rafael.
Day 6: Day trip to Monte San Valentin Glacier.
Day 7: Excursion to the Marble Chapels, then drive to Puerto Guadal. We'll stay there for 3 nights.
Day 8: Walk along Lago Carrera and return to Puerto Guadal.
Day 9: Rio Baker Valley and, if possible, a glacier excursion.
Day 10: Drive to Cochrane and hike in Tamango National Reserve. We'll stay 2 nights in Cochrane.
Day 11: Walk in the Chacabuco Valley.
Day 12: Drive to Caleta Tortel. We'll stay there for 2 nights.
Day 13: Cruise in the Rio Baker delta.
Day 14: Return to Cochrane.
Day 15: Return to Balmaceda in two stages.
Day 16: Continue the return journey.
Day 17: Return the rental car and head back to Santiago.
After this, we're also planning to explore northern Santiago. I'll post about that part once I have a clearer idea of the route.
What do you think of this itinerary? Is it doable in 17 days?

I’ve sketched out a rough itinerary but I’m not sure how to arrange it—considering the climate, year-end holidays, and Carnival.
Basically, I’m thinking of the Amazon, the Northeast coast with Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (but skipping Chapada Diamantina),
Ouro Preto, Paraty, and Ilha Grande—but no Rio visit.
Is this doable in 3 months?

After lots of research and quotes, it’s the only one offering Uyuni at a reasonable price while meeting all the criteria: transfer to the border, private-room accommodation, and a very fair rate. Hi everyone, French travelers in Chile—what credit cards do you use for your various car rentals in the country? I’m traveling in September and was planning to switch my regular debit card (a VISA PREMIER in deferred debit mode) for the deposit guarantee.
My rentals are with Figal in Punta Arenas, Econautos in Arica, and Chilean Rent a Car in Temuco, and all of them want the deposit on a credit card. For me, deferred debit *should* work, but I’ve read comments saying the opposite.
How’s it actually working on the ground with these rental companies right now? Will a deferred debit card work, or not at all?
In France, banks don’t issue credit cards, right—or am I mistaken?

I’m desperately looking for info on the schedules and routes of (shared) boats to visit the islands of Lake Titicaca.
From what I’ve found, there’s a *combi* (bus) that leaves from Puno to go to Llachon. Where do you catch it? What are the schedules and frequency? Does it take about 1 hour?
Then in Llachon, you can take a boat to Amantani (45 min). Same question—where do you check for frequency and schedule?
After that, from Amantani, boats go to Taquile and then Uros. Do you have enough time to visit the islands between two boats? Frequency and schedule?
The goal is to do this tour independently (no agency) over 2 days. Thanks for any tips you might have!
I just got back from a trip to Bolivia and wow—what a wake-up call. It’s not the easiest country, but it’s absolutely stunning.
I started with Isla del Sol, perfect for easing into the altitude at a relaxed pace. Try to stay in the northern part of the island—it’s quieter and the views are insane. And the trout there? Unreal. Quick tip: bring cash in small bills; they almost never have change, and cards are rarely accepted.
Next up, La Paz. The city’s pretty wild, built in every direction. I did a few hikes in the area, including the famous Charquini Lagoon (the blue lake) at over 5,000 m—let’s just say I struggled 😅 but it was so beautiful it was totally worth it.
After that, I headed to Sajama. It’s cool, especially for the hot springs, and I stayed in Tomarapi. But honestly, if you’re short on time, you can skip it without too many regrets.
The highlight of the trip: the Salar. I did it starting from Tupiza, and I *highly* recommend going Tupiza → Uyuni. Way less crowded at the start and the landscapes are super varied. For the tour, I used SplitYourGuide to find a group, and it worked out great. Super handy for splitting costs and meeting people.
I wrapped up in Sucre—this city is gorgeous, all white, with such a chill vibe. And the salteñas + ice cream? Next level 😋
Bottom line: Bolivia’s a bit rough around the edges, sometimes exhausting (shoutout to the altitude), but it’s 1000% worth it.

I was planning to go to Réunion and stay in half-board accommodation with non-professionals, but it seems that’s not really the custom there—or maybe my budget isn’t big enough.
So, since I’ve already traveled around Ecuador and Peru, I’m now looking at Argentina, especially for its mountains (like the ones in Réunion that tempted me, even though—frustratingly—I could only admire them from below).
I plan to get around by bus and don’t know in advance where I’ll sleep, so I won’t book ahead. If I like a place, I might stay for several days.
I know that in Chile, it’s easy to find half-board accommodation, but what about in Argentina?
I’d like to stay with locals in half-board without it being a professional setup. I’m not sure if this is common practice there. It’s up to me to find someone willing to host me.
What do you think?

We’re heading to Patagonia for three weeks in November, starting from Coyhaique in Chile.
We won’t have a car, and I’m struggling to find information about transportation options for a few parts of the itinerary we’d like to do:
1) From Perito Moreno (the town, near Los Antiguos), we’d like to travel down Ruta 40 to visit Perito Moreno National Park and then cross into Chile via the Paso Roballos (at the latitude of Bajo Caracoles) to reach the road to Cochrane. Without a car, it seems we’ll need to use private agencies to get to the national park—do you have any recommendations or suggestions? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to cross into Chile via Paso Roballos (from Bajo Caracoles) without a rental car? That is, without having to go all the way down to El Chaltén or back up toward Perito Moreno/Los Antiguos, etc.?
2) The second stretch that seems a bit tricky (though still easier, in theory) is from Caleta Tortel to Villa O’Higgins on the Chilean side. Do we have to go back through Cochrane, or are there ways to get directly from Tortel to Villa O’Higgins?
3) Finally, we’d like to hike into Argentina (El Chaltén) from O’Higgins. Any recommendations for this? Do we need to go through an agency? What’s the estimated duration of the trek?
As you’ve probably gathered, we want to visit some off-the-beaten-path spots but don’t have a car, so we’re looking for the best possible compromises.

we’re planning a round trip from San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, to Salta, Argentina, in two months. On the way there, we’ll take the northern route via Susques, Route 27, then 52. But for the return, we were thinking of taking the southern route via San Antonio de los Cobres, Route 51, then 23. Is it similar to the northern route in terms of road surface? How busy is it, and are there gas stations? Basically, should we be worried about doing it in an SUV that’s supposedly 4x4 but has regular road tires and no second spare wheel, obviously...
I’ve seen that we can stop over in San Antonio de los Cobres.

we’ll be in Calama at the end of March 2026, and I’m looking for a reliable car rental there for a 7-day road trip to Salta, Argentina. But I’m struggling with the car rental agencies in Calama because the reviews can be scary. I saw Gyg, which has great ratings, but I’m a bit wary (5/5 from 59 reviews—either the guy’s amazing or it’s fake...), but I can’t find any recent reviews on VF in general.
For Punta Arenas, I booked with Dachelet and didn’t have any issues with email exchanges.
