Pour l instant, je pense acheter une invitation chez http://www.russianconcept.com/fr/services/visa-russie.shtml pour 30 euros. J aimerais ensuite obtenir un visa, mais j aimerais bien trouver a quel prix il s eleve. Etant en allemagne, j ai essayé de joindre le consulat a strasbourg, mais pas de reponse. Donc si qqun puvait me donner une estimation.....
Je passe probablement via les pays baltes et j ai entendu dire qu il etait moins onereux d obtenir un visa a partir de l ambassade russe en estonie ou lettonie. Qqun a des infos sur ce "tuyau" ?
Est-il simple d obtenir un visa pour la mongolie a partir de la russie (par ex : a irkoutsk) ou vaut il mieux s en occuper a partir de la France ?
De meme entre la mongolie et la chine ??

Russie et mongolie je te conseille de les faire avnt de partir vu que genre le mongole tu peux entrer sur le territoire et le faire démarrer 4 mois apres la délivrance, ca me semble plus simple.
Chine il faudrait appeller l'ambassade savoir en fonction de tes dates et tout combien de temps avant tu peux te le faire délivrer, sinon c'est géreable a Ulaan Baatar.

J'ai laché un petit sourire lorsqu'au téléphone de l'ambassade russe de Belgique j'ai entendu une voix m'annoncer que l'estimation de votre visa sera effectuée au consulat lors de votre demande de visa. Tête du client ?
J'ai entendu de tout pour le visa russe.
Ce qui est sûr c'est qu'il faut un voucher de confirmation d'une agence de voyage ou d'un hotel reconnu et agréé par la Fédération russe.
Par contre, je ne sais pas si, pour un visa touristique d'un mois, il faut également présenter un ticket retour. Je compte partir de Moscou en transmongolien pour rejoindre UB et par la suite la Chine. Je ne prends donc, de Belgique, qu'un aller simple vers St-Petersbourg (à 143 Euros en plus !!, la fête 😉)
avec ma couz on veux partir aussi mais en septembre, Moscou, Transsiberien, Mongolie, Chine... Inde.
Nous ne sommes encore qu'a l'étape "je recherche du concret et des contacts, afin de mieux cibler notre parcours". Notre but est de meler baroudage et de vivre le quotidien local par le biais d'assos, de particuliers, de locaux... Si tu as qq infos, adresses ou autres à nous faire partager...
Par contre une info qui peut t'interesser, que j'ai trouvé sur ce forum (pe pas te dire +) qui disait qu'il n'y a pas forcement besoin d'une invitation, pour l'ambassade, mais qu"une attestation d'assurance suffit!! et que bien sûr ils se cachent bien de le dire trés fort!

il y a deux ans pour avoir facilement un visa pour la russie on a contacte une agence de voyage en finlande qui fut tres efficace et pas beaucoup plus chere que le consulat
a la liste de visa-bidule, j'ajoute visa-house, j'ai croise un type passe par eux, c'etait ok
l'histoire de l'attestation d'assurance au lieu d'une invit, Pacotte, c'est pour la MONGOLIE, PAS LA RUSSIE
je conseille le baikal si une seule halte a faire sur le transib
visa russe, faite gaffe aux soucis d'enregistrement avant de choisir votre visa support invitation letter, il faut qu'il ait une agence a moscou (ou st pet si vous arrivez par la) pour s'occuper de votre visa a l'uvir
visa mongol : ATTENTION, 3 mois de validite, ie si tu le prends aujourd'hui, il faut que tu entres dans le pays dans les trois mois !!! duree 30 jours renouvelable sur place, possible de se le procurer a irkutsk et oulan ude
visa chinois : a oulan bator sans pb

Au final, je suis passé par une agence en allemagne (c plus simple pour moi qui suis en allemagne en ce moment) qui me l a facturé pas trop cher....
Par contre, j ai une question d'ordre plus général - n ayant jamais fait de voyage nécessitant un visa auparavant - : est ce qu on peut gerer l obtention d un visa par courrier directement avec l ambassade de mongolie (etant aussi eloigné de paris que de berlin, köln ou munich ....bref la ou ou il y a representation diplo de la mongolie) ?
Apres les visas, on continue le combat: les tickets pour le transsib ? au mois de juillet, y aura un afflux de touristes...combien de temps d attente faut il compter pour acheter un billet arrivé a moscou ?
Pour les visas, j'en sais rien parce que je compte aller le chercher à Bruxelles, à l'ambassade de Mongolie pour 43 €.
Pour les tickets du transsib je me pose la même question que toi. Le Lonely Planet dit qu'il faut "impérativement" réserver plusieurs mois à l'avance entre la mi-juillet et la mi-septembre. Ca me fait peur de lire ça mais vous pensez vraiment qu'il risque de ne plus y avoir de places ? L'afflux est-il tellement important en cette période ?

A moins de passer par une agence qui te le facture le triple du prix (et encore, je suis gentil), je pense qu'il faut prendre le risque d'aller à Moscou et de prendre les tickets sur place.
Je me pose une autre question. Qui sait quand circulent les trains vers Ulan Bator depuis Moscou au mois de juillet ? Normalement, durant l'année, j'ai cru comprendre qu'ils circulaient le mercredi. Maintenant, sur un site assez intéressant j'ai vu qu'il y avait des trains les mardis (les 12 et 19 juillet en tout cas).
J'ai trouvé un site qui propose des billets MOW-UB en express à 170 € en deuxième classe :

Bref, c'est là dessus que j'ai vu ça, ils s'occupent des réservations. Maintenant, je pense que c'est plus cher que sur place mais moins que par une agence qui peut monter facile jusqu'à 300 €
Sinon il y a http://trainline.ru/index.php qui indique un train Moscou-UB le 12 et le 19 juillet mais qui ne donne pas les prix (il faut réserver et payer après ce qu'ils demandent... à la russe quoi 😕 )

alors plusieurs choses
le consulat de paris accepte les demandes de visa par correspondance pour la mongolie, j'avais vu ca sur leur site, a verifier au telephone, mais c'est dur parce qu'ils ont 2 de tension...
ensuite, 150 euros, c'est franchement un bon prix, voire meme surprenant peu cher, surtout pour une deuxieme classe, mais je continue a preconiser la troisieme classe
enfin, prendre un ticket depuis moscou, ca doit etre possible, mais faut pas etre presse, et il y a tout plein de trucs a faire a moscou, histoire de prendre un peu la temperature du pays avant de le traverser, d'autant plus que c'est toujours possible (et c'est plus facile si on parle un peu de russe, mais on se debrouille toujours..) de prendre des billets successifs enfonction de l'affluence, en fractionnant son voyage en plusieurs troncons, prevoir du temps quoi, les vacances !! mais attention, plus tu fais d'arrets, plus le prix grimpe, et vite, en doublant vitevite !
et si tu comptes poireauter sur moscou, faire attention a la registration, je ne le dirai pas assez..

J'ai trouvé des billets 2e classe à 198 USD, MOW-UB en express (pas d'arret d'une journée à Irkoutsk ou ailleurs, à part les arrêts "normaux").
Si y en a qui sont intéressés je peux leur filer l'adresse de l'agence en Russie qui me les réservera.
Réservera !! Car j'ai eu la confirmation qu'il N'EST PAS POSSIBLE de réserver les billets de train plus de 45 jours avant le départ !! c'est une information très importante.
Autre question : l'enregistrement. Si je reste moins de trois jours dans Moscou avant de prendre le train, dois-je tout de même m'enregistrer une fois après mon arrivée sur le solle russe ? Autrement dit, y aurait-il deux principes à l'enregistrement : il faut de toute façon s'enregistrer à l'arrivée ET s'enregistrer dans toutes les viles où l'on reste trois jours ouvrés ?? Je comprends rien 🤪

nous nous sommes arrive le vendredi soir a moscou, on a voulu ce faire enregistre le lundi, on a ete dans un hotel en expliquent que l'on repartait le mercredi et ils nous ont dit que c'etait pasla paine... du coup on s'est enregistre a irkoutzk via la guest house ou nous etions (ils nous l'ont fait pour 300 roubles)... l'adresse de cette guest house est sur le forum
en fait je pense que s'enregistrer une seule fois suffit, en tout cas nous personne ne nous a chicaner et pourtant avec ma gueuele de tchetchene (brun mal rase) je peux te dire que je me suis fais controler plus d'une fois ... ils m'ont meme piquer mon pognon ces salops de flics russes, profitant de mon ivresse ( ca va j'avais pas grand chose mais tout de meme) ... c'est le monde a l'envers
pour ceux qui prennent le transsiberien, franchement n'hesitez pas a aller en 3eme classe, c'est super la boheme dans le wagogon, les gens super sympa, on partage la bouffe on joue, on baragouinne quelques mois en s.aidant des mains et super secure ( 54 paires d'yeux qui surveillent ton sac, dur d'y toucher) les russes sont super chaleureux et prevenants
perso, j'ai paye 1700 roubles soit environ... 46 euros pour moscou-irkutsk
pour l'enregistrement, j'ai ecrit un message la dessus : soit tu t'enregistres dans les hotels officiels, qui tamponnent pour la duree de ton sejour chez eux, ie une nuit, deux nuits... apres ca, tu dois retourner dans un autre hotel si tu restes plus de trois jours dans une meme ville, ou bien dans les trois prochains jours ouvrables (pas reussi a savoir laquelle des deux versions est la bonne), le but est de te faire passer par les hebergements controles, pas vraiment pratique si tu comptes loger chez des amis, chez l'habitant (qui a autre chose a faire que de poireauter a l'ovir pour toi pendant des heures) ou bien camper, comme je l'ai fais les 8 derniers jours au baikal ; soit, tu t'enregistre une bonne fois pour toute, en indiquant la duree totale de ton sejour, et en payant un supplement, de l'ordre de 10 usd, dans les hotels comme la gh a irkutsk, j'ai fais pareil que loic

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

The information I’ve found about whether an international permit is required is contradictory. Some sources say you need one, others say you don’t.
Could anyone let me know if an international driver’s permit is necessary to rent a car in Australia (Perth), or if a French license is enough for a 7-day rental?
I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?
I read on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that it’s possible to apply for a temporary driving permit in China, valid for 1 month.

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.
