Nous sommes 6 et nous souhaitons faire une excursion sur une journée au départ de La Palmeraie. L'année derniére nous avons fait la vallée de l'ourika. cette année nous envisageons Aït Benhaddou en passant par col du Tichka puis Télouet pour la visite de l’ancienne Kasbah du Pacha Glaoui.Le parcours classique du parfait touriste. Mais d'aprés les infos du net cela parait pas mal. Peux-t-on trouver 4X4 correct avec chauffeur départ Palmeraie vers 21 h et retour en soirée Palmeraie pour un budget de l'ordre de 1500 DIRH pour la journéee derniére semaine de janvier 2009. Merci à vous tous. tous les bons plans les bonnes adresses seront toutes les bienvenues.

C'est faisable sur une longue journée ; peut-être sans passer par Telouet, détour long (route étroite et sinueuse) ; ou alors, garder Telouet pour le retour, si vous avez encore du temps ou du courage

belle journée, mais en janvier les jours sont courts, et cette excursion nécessite A/R 7 à 8 heures de route, sans Telouet ! Rajouter 2 h pour Telouet visite très rapide comprise. De plus à cette époque, il est plus sérieux de passer le Tizi n'Tichka de jour, soit avant 17 h !

Je suis désolé pour cette erreur sur le titre qui m'a été fatale. J'ai bien compris qu'un 4x4 semble inutile le minibus ets plus approprié et moins polluant. Tu n'as donc lu que des niaiseries ! il est effectivement utile à tous les rabatteurs de faire croire qu'il y a des dangers pour vendre leurs services.
Le col est dégagé 99 % du temps! et le 1 % restant il l'est rapidement. meme en hiver! mais la nuit, il peut y avoir un peu de verglas ! et un 4x4 n'y fera rien de mieux !

Je confirme qu'en cas de verglas un 4x4 ne fera pas mieux en descente qu'un autre véhicule mais nettement mieux en montée ( sachant qu'aprés une montée il y généralement une descente on se retrouve avec le même problème ) . La solution étant un 4x4 équipé de pneus cloutées, mais là on délire un peu pour l'utilisation marocaine . Par contre ce qui me choque dans les conversations précédentes c'est de comparer la pollution d'un 4x4 avec celles des minibus circulants au Maroc ! Un moteur pollue plus ou moins en fonction de son avancée technologique . La pollution est avant tout le signe d'une combustion incomplète du carburant dans les cylindres . Les moteurs récents et particulièrement ceux sophistiqués des nouveaux 4x4 sont incomparablement moins pollueur que ceux de la majorités du parc automobile bas de gamme . Au maroc on trouve de vieux 4x4 qui polluent, ni plus ni moins que les minibus de la même époque, et on trouve également en location des 4x4 de dernière génération ....Un 4x4, lui, permettra au moins d'aller à télouet !

Pour aller à Telouet, il y a du goudron, la piste n'est pratiquement plus utilisée par les excursions, les pluies d'automne l'ont rendue très peu praticable. Et il faut 3 h pour la faire, à rajouter aux 7 h de route déja comprises, alors qu'ici il est question d'une journée d'excursion en janvier.

Pour ce qui est de la comparaison de pollution, j'entendai un minibus et un 4x4 d'ancienne génération, il est certain que les monospaces récents sont moins polluant que la plupart des 4x4 ( notament les hzj 105) que l'on trouve en location avec chauffeur. On trouve cependant des toyota Prado à la location sans chauffeur qui, ayant des moteurs récents, sont tout à fait "propres" et sont donc une bonne solution pour qui veut s'aventurer sur les pistes avec un souci de respect de l'environnement.
Quant à la piste de Telouet, c'est une confusion de ma part car comme ces personnes envisageaient un 4x4 j'ai aussitôt pensé qu'ils désiraient se rendre à Telouet par la piste Tamdakht -Animiter aprés une visite à Aït ben Haddou .

Très nombreux voyages ' en routard 'dans le monde entier, mais mon coeur penche pour les pays du Bassin Méditerranéen que j'ai visités de nombreuses fois . Sinon, ailleurs, coups de coeur pour l' Inde, le Pérou, l'Ouest Américain.

Pour cette excursion, et surtout pour faire telouat en piste, il vous faut un 4X4 et ca serre a rien d'aller a Telouat en goudron, le paysage c'est pas la meme chose, par contre il faut faire attention aux rabateurs qui te donne une liste d'agence dont la moitié est hors de jeux et l'autre moitié fait la gueguere avec ses concurents sur les forums, il faut chercher ailleurs .

tout a fait d'accord avec toi pas besoin de 4x4 pour faire tellouet la ville, mais pour la piste c est clair il est indispensable Mais je ne vois pas ce que vient faire la pollution sur ce site, mais s'il faut en discuter je suis la, j ai un 4x4 de1995 bien regle avec cata et dautres capteurs (voiture suisse) donc arretez de dire n importe quoi une mob au maroc pollue plus que moi de plus si le gasoil etait plus net les vehicules pollueraient moins du moins la bas c est sur!

Je n'ai jamais mis en cause la polution des 4x4, je ne faisais que répondre à un intervenant, qui lui par contre traitait les 4x4 de pollueurs. Si tu relis complètement le sujet tu devrai certainement te rendre compte de ton erreur de cible !

I’m looking for the start of a trail in the Picos de Europa in Spain that I used over 30 years ago in a 4x4.
It began by passing under a house, and there was a café nearby.
I know it’s not much to go on, but that’s all I’ve got. The fact that the trail started by going under a house isn’t exactly common!
If anyone has any ideas, I’d really appreciate it.

After that, we’re planning to visit Gorongosa National Park before flying back to France from Beira. We’re planning a 4x4 trip from Belgium to Central Asia, passing through Georgia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
For these countries, our national insurance obviously doesn’t cover the vehicle, so we’ll need to get local insurance.
Will it be a problem if the vehicle is registered under person A and the national insurance is under person B? Both A and B will be in the vehicle, and both will be listed as drivers on the insurance.
When we get the local insurance, if we again list A and B as drivers, does the order matter? Could we get stuck at the border for this reason?

For those who’ve driven on Iceland’s gravel roads in their own or a rented Duster, could you tell me what tires were fitted on the vehicle?
Were they All Terrain tires or more "standard" ones like all-season tires, for example?
Follow-up question: if they were "standard" tires, did that cause any issues on the gravel roads and rough terrain?

I'd like to know if I need to book overnight stops in advance or if I can just wing it and stop wherever I feel like it?
Some evenings, we'd like to stop and make use of campsite facilities (restaurant, shop, showers, toilets).

We’ll also have the option to sleep in the car without pitching the tent. Does that give us the flexibility to stay outside a campsite for a night here and there?

I’m planning a road trip in the Middle Atlas, starting and ending in Fez and heading down to the south of Midelt, the Assoul Massif.... We’ll be traveling with two small 4x4s.
I’m looking for detailed maps of this region that include small roads and tracks.
Last year, we had a fantastic road trip in the Anti-Atlas and High Atlas using Erfahren maps, but unfortunately, they don’t cover the area we’re interested in this year.

Here’s the planned route (in this order):
Marrakech → Ouarzazate → Draa Valley → Zagora → Erg Chegaga → Lake Iriki → Foum Zguid → Tata → Tafraoute → Aït Mansour → Tiznit → Mirleft → Taroudant → Back to Marrakech
Our goal:
Atlas Mountains + desert + dunes + plateaus + valleys + a bit of coastline. We’ll cover about 1,700 km in total.
We’re planning:
Bivouacking in the Chegaga/Iriki area Flexible for the rest (booking the day before or same day) Sand gear: traction plates, compressor, tow strap, roof rack
Questions:
Is the Zagora → Chegaga → Iriki → Foum Zguid crossing in July doable on our own (single vehicle, no guide)? Are there any truly technical or risky sections between Chegaga and Iriki? Does the overall itinerary seem manageable in 13 days without rushing? Any suggestions for great bivouac spots or particularly interesting stops along this route? The points on the route are provisional overnight stops. Some spots will include two nights in the same area.

However, the rental agencies we’ve found prohibit driving on the tracks to Omalo (Tusheti) and/or Ushguli (Svaneti). Do you know of any agencies in Tbilisi (local and reliable) that allow rented 4x4s to drive on these tracks? If so, which ones?

I’d love to visit Gonarezhou National Park—I see there are two sectors: the Mwenezi Region in the south and the area around the Runde River in the north. Should I cover both sectors or just focus on the northern region?
For the parks along the Zambezi River, is it better to visit Mana Pools on the Zimbabwe side or Lower Zambezi on the Zambia side?

For our trip to Georgia in July, I’d like to rent a 4x4 starting from Tbilisi. Do you have any rental companies to recommend? The traditional rentals like Hertz, Avis, etc. seem way overpriced compared to local companies—what do you think? Are they properly insured?
Has anyone here tried Geo Rent Car, Auto 4 Rental, or Sur Price?
Also, I’m looking for info on the condition of the Ushguli–Lentekhi track—is it passable?

I’m leaving in November for about a month with the goal of reaching Senegal via Mauritania. I’d love to share this trip with someone who wants to discover Mauritania and a bit of Senegal... and also experience life on board a 4x4 in the desert or bush, sometimes sleeping in the vehicle or in hostels/small hotels for comfort. I want to share this rediscovery because two’s better than one!

I’m looking for a rental company (or several) that offers single-cab 4x4 pick-ups with a fitted camper cell for two people. I’m specifically after a vehicle with an indoor shower for extra comfort ;) So, no vans—at least not from the rental companies I’ve seen so far.
While browsing the forum, I came across the Chilean rental company Holiday Rent. But do you have any recommendations for Argentine rentals? Because, if I can’t return the vehicle in the same city as pickup, I’d prefer—and it’d likely be cheaper—to at least return it in the same country.

Could anyone tell me if the local diesel is suitable for its engine, or if I need to take any special precautions (like adding an additive, for example) for these countries? I’d also like to know if driving at high altitudes is possible, and up to what elevation—or if I should worry about the vehicle going into limp mode? If that happens, what should I do?

My trip to South Africa is starting to take shape.
However, I'm struggling to figure out the route through Kruger Park. I can't seem to find the information I need about getting around.
Coming from the south, I plan to arrive on Day 1 in the early afternoon at Malelane or Crocodile Bridge.
Do some shopping in Malelane (or Crocodile Bridge main area) and stay overnight outside the park.
Leave on Day 2 at 5 AM for the park. Explore the southern part of the park.
Stay overnight around Skukuza or Lower Sabie. (We don’t want to stay in one of the park’s big camps. We’re looking for a lodge around 200 €.
Head out on Day 3 for a self-drive safari, maybe as far as Orpen.
We’d like to stay in a private reserve on nights 4 and 5.
We’re not sure which one or how to get into a private reserve. Do we need to exit Kruger Park?
On Day 5, we’d like to leave to visit Blyde Canyon (on Day 6).
Could you help us with these different locations?

Does anyone know of people or companies that handle long-term parking (preferably secure) in either place? Once the car is parked, what’s the best way to get back to France using public transport? Is the nearest airport Tanger from Ceuta?... How do I get there easily, etc. etc.

Is the drive doable with a good 4x4 in a day? We’ll spend 2 nights in Khwai, then 2 or maybe 3 nights in the Moremi area (Third Bridge/Xakanaxa/Mboma) before heading back to Maun to wrap up our journey. Is that too much time to spend in each place?
We’d also like to do one or two boat excursions in the delta. Any suggestions for the best options and operators?

Have you traveled from Morondava → Tsingy between May 1st and 5th? Was the journey doable and safe? Did you have access to the Grands Tsingy, or just the Petits Tsingy?
