je vais peut etre vous surprendre (pour ceux qui ont déjà lu certains de mes posts) mais ma boite me fait encore changer de destination: un poste serait peut etre ouvert en Colombie !
Je ne connais pas ce pays, peut etre parmis quelqu'un pour me décrire rapidement la vie locale ? Je précise, le projet serait situé dans Atlantico, entre la ville de Barranquilla et Cartagena... J'ai cru comprendre que Cartagena et très agréable, touristique donc plutot sure, avec une vie nocturne renommée... Toutefois, mon employeur semble plus enclain à me loger à Barranquilla, je n'ai que très peu d'info sur cette ville qu'on dit sans intérêt particulier... Pouvez vous m'en dire un peu plus sur ces deux villes ?
Pour préciser, j'aime les sorties nocturnes, mais aussi les sports. Je sais que l'on peut grimper dans le PN de Tayrona, il me semble que ce n'est pas très loin de Cartagena, 2 ou 3 heures de route ? Est il possible de se déplacer de façon autonome dans ces régions ?

Si je suis votre employeur, je vous placerai à Barranquilla qui est une ville plus sérieuse, travaillante et offrant des services plus près de la "normal". Cartagena est une ville où les gens sont plus relax et aussi plus dangereuse. Barranquilla est entre Santa Marta et Cartagena et quelques plages sont accessibles, cependant pour faire la fiesta, alors Cartagena.
Barranquilla est une ville industrielle et Cartagena et santa marta des villes touristiques.
Est-ce que votre projet est celui de l'aéroport nouveau ou bien avec Microfsoft ?

Si tu aimes les sorties nocturnes, le sport, la nature je te conseillerai plus Cartagena, ville coloniale absolument magnifique bien située
pour partir soit sur les Iles en face, je pense notamment a Playa Blanca ou un peu plus bas Isla Mucura en face de Tolu, soit prendre un bain de boue vers Totumo !!
La region de l Atlantico n est guere tres touristique et Barranquilla (qui est a 3-4h du parque Tayronna) n est vraiment pas la ville
charmante et accueillante qu on peut imaginé. Meme Santa Marta ds le Magdalena est plus jolie.
Tu peux te deplacer avec autonomie ds ces regions, évite de trop t éloigner ds le Tayrona et Ciudad Perdida parcontre.
Si tu vas vers la Guajira, le premier village de cette region appelé Palomino est un excellent endroit pour ne rien faire, se relaxer et profiter
de la plage generalement vide (demande Eugenio), Quebrada Valencia aussi est a voir.
De mon point de vue je te conseillerai Cartagena, apres les avis different....

Effectivement, moi aussi je penche pour Cartagena (jolie ville, ambiance fiesta) ... mais j'ai appris récement que mon chef sur place envisage plutot Barranquilla...alors bon je verrais bien. Saurais-tu ce que donne la communauté expat dans le coin ?Tu connais cette ville ? J'ai entendu dire que c'est une grande ville assez moche, mais on y trouve les inconvénients et avantages d'une grande ville...
Sinon, je ne connais pas du tout le pays, l'ambiance...ma seule expérience en amérique latine se situe plus au nord, 6 mois au Mexique. Tu penses qu'on peut comparer l'ambiance de ces 2 pays ? On entend souvent dire que Mexico est très dangeureux...une fois sur place on se rend compte que c'est simplement une grande ville, et que niveau sécurité c'est un peu comme chez nous...
Tu me disais que les déplacements autonomes sont possibles...je peux donc envisager d'avoir un véhicule et de bouger le WE soit à Cartagena soit grimper dans le Tayrona ?
Enfin, tu as l'air de connaitre un peu l'amérique Latine, tu conseillerais quoi comme destination pas trop loin (autre pays ou non) pour un congé d'une ou deux semaines ???

Je suis un québécois marié à une colombienne de Barranquilla. Alors cette ville, je la connais très bien et c'est pleinement recommandable. Sa modernisation au cours des 10 dernières années en fait d'ailleur un choix par excellence pour y vivre en permanence. Les salles de cinéma, les centres d'achats, les nouvelles résidences, etc, tout est comparable à ce que se fait ici. Biensûr il y a le centre-ville et certaines infrastructures vieillottes pour te dépayser mais c'est sympa au fonds. C'est même ce qu'on souhaite à la rigueur. Quant à Cartagena et Sta Marta, ça demeure des petites villes touristiques qui valent la peine d'être vues et revues de temps à autre mais sans plus. Quant au Parc Tayrona, fais attention. Dès qu'on sort des villes, il faut être prudent car la délinquence et la guérilla restent un problème majeur dans ce pays. Même les colombiens évaluent toujours les risques lors de leurs déplacements. Ils ont leurs us et coutumes à cet égard et on ne s'en rend pas vraiment compte mais ça fait toute la différence. En somme, il faut toujours être accompagné par quelqu'un qui connait l'endroit et on a plus à s'inquièter. Pour ce qui est de la fête, je n'ai pas beaucoup d'expérience sinon en famille et je peux t'assurer que l'ambiance est plutôt festive à longueur d'année. Je crois qu'ils ont même le double de congés feriés qu'ici et toutes les raisons sont bonnes pour ouvrir une bouteile de "agua ardiente" et se payer quelques chansons par un groupe de musiciens locaux qu'on appelle "vallenatos", sorte de Mariachis colombiens. Finalment, il y a beaucoup plus de femmes que d'hommes. Alors Bon voyage!

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
