Je viens de me procurer un forfait vacances au Caracol hoteles C de Santa Lucia Cuba avec TMR pour la modique somme de 448$ je capote tellement c'est peu dispendieux pour de la chaleur, la mer et du repos. Je pars seul le 2 décembre 2010, si y en a qui vont là bas en même temps et bien bienvenue et au plaisir de faire votre connaissance. Je vais là pour du repos mais un bon gars ne dira pas non à un bon daiquiri da fresa en bonne compagnie. 😉
Bref, s'il y en a qui reviennent de cette hôtel, qui ont des commentaires à partager, des choses particulières à savoir sur cette endroit allez-y pas de gêne je suis prêt à tout commentaire.
Questions: Y a t'il des chambres avec vue sur la mer?
Est-ce qu'il y a quelques employées qui parlent français?
Quel est particulièrement le genre de clientèle à cette hôtel?
Le coffret de sureté est-il gratuit?
La meilleure place pour changer son argent en argent cubain c'est où?
Tu vas adorer le Caracol. On y est allé en mars 2009 et ma foie, j'y retournerais.
On avait eu une chambre directement sur la plage alors oui il y a des chambres avec vue sur mer.
Bon quel genre de clientèle, de tous les genres et bien des québécois en mars en tous cas.
Beaucoup de gens y vont pour faire de la planche à voile.
Le matin il y a bien des algues sur la plage mais ils la ramassent tôt le matin.
C'est bien, de belle grande chambre non c'est vraiment bien.

Le casse-croute sur la plage fait de merveilleux hambeger et des filets de poisson...mium!
Va voir aussi sur youtube et tu y verras des vidéos.
Moi dans le temps ( parrait que cela aurait changer ) les spectacles étaient nuls mais on pouvait aller sans problème voir le spectacle à l'hotel à coté ;-)
Est-ce compliqué et risqué de louer un scooter là bas?
Avez-vous trouvé risquer de vous promener seul là bas?
Est-ce que le personnel parlait un peu français au Caracol?
Si tu es habitué de faire de la moto ou du scooter, pas de problème. C'est que les routes sont en mauvais état et les motos tombent souvent en panne ou ont une crevaison. Ça peut être long avant qu'on vienne te chercher! On est à Cuba... et y'a pas beaucoup de circulation à Sta Lucia.
Tu peux louer un scooter à l'hôtel pour une heure ou deux pour faire le tour et t'orienter, tu verras si tu as vraiment besoin d'un scooter pour quelques jours si tu veux. C'est vraiment pas cher. Par contre, j'ai vu plusieurs gars se blesser par manque d'expérience, du sable sur la route, à cause de l'alcool, d'erreurs de jugement, voire à cause d'un idiot qui les a coupés, etc. Un taxi aller-retour pour se rendre au village coûte à peine 2 ou 3 CUC, et il y a des vélos à louer gratuitement à l'hôtel jusqu'à 17 h.
Pas de problème de sécurité là-bas! Par contre, le gars soul à 4 heures du matin qui marche tout croche sur la rue risque de se faire faire les poches sans s'en rendre compte par t'attachantes demoiselles cubaines à la recherche d'argent facile, iPod, mari, etc.
Il y a beaucoup plus de monde au Caracol de janvier à avril qu'en basse saison. Attends-toi à ce que ce soit plus tranquille début décembre. Rien ne t'empêche d'accéder aux autres hôtels, sans y consommer évidemment.
Pas certaine que le staff puisse s'exprimer aisément en français, à part le gars des relations publiques qui s'appelle Telman s'il est encore là. S'il y a quoi que ce soit, tu peux communiquer avec ton rep si c'est important.
Si tu as des questions, n'hésite pas. Je suis allée à Sta Lucia une vingtaine de fois.
Les animateurs Ramone et Georgito parlent bien le francais (tu les salueras de Yugo de Mango) et plusieurs serveuses se débrouillent bien aussi.
Parle Avec Ramone, si tu lui paie ses dépenses il pourra te sortir dans les clubs des environs, plaisir garanti !
Comme dit plus haut, Jorgito et Ramon (les gros bras!) parlent français. Telman n'y est plus... L'hotel va ré-ouvrir le 1er décembre (il est fermé depuis le 1er juillet) et les employés ne savent pas encore qui sera de retour à cette date. D'après moi, Jorgito y sera. Il parle très bien français et vous sera d'une grande utilité!
J'y étais une semaine avant que l'hotel ferme et il n'y avait pas assez de clients. Ils en ont aussi profité pour changer de gérance! C'était la rumeur de l'époque! Un des gérant de l'hotel m'a confirmé la semaine passée alors que j'étais à Camaguey que ce ne sera plus un Hoteles C de gérance espagnole... Pour l'instant, ça devient Hotel Caracol géré par Cuba probablement par Cubanacan! Asi es Cuba! 😉

I wanted to share a great discovery in the Marakele area because, in the end, this park doesn’t get talked about much compared to Kruger, even though it’s really worth the detour.
We discovered Cypiro Leopard Lodge, right next to Marakele National Park in the Waterberg. It’s a small property with just a few villas and suites, so it’s nothing like the big, crowded lodges. What we loved most was the feeling of being truly at the end of the world—lots of space, silence, and almost no one around.
And yet, it’s only about 3 hours from Johannesburg. Once you leave Joburg, the road is pretty straightforward, and you quickly find yourself in a much wilder Africa.
Marakele National Park was a huge surprise for us. There are plenty of animals, the Big Five are present, but best of all, very few people. At times, we drove for quite a while without seeing another car. It’s such a change from parks where you sometimes end up with 15 cars around one animal.
The landscapes are also stunning, with the Waterberg mountains, plains, and beautiful views from some of the trails.
We also learned on-site that Marakele is known for its very large Cape vulture colony—around 800 breeding pairs. When you climb into the mountains and see them soaring above, it’s pretty impressive.
The entire Waterberg region is actually a UNESCO-recognized biosphere reserve, and you quickly understand why once you’re there.
As for Cypiro, it’s a lodge that was recently taken over by French owners—really nice and approachable. The place is quite exclusive since there are very few accommodations. The villas and suites each have their own private pool, a wood-fired hot bath (like a KolKol), a braai, and an outdoor fireplace.
Evenings are especially lovely, especially with the peace and quiet all around.
Another thing we found really convenient: you can organize your stay however you like.
You can come self-catering and cook for yourself. There’s a supermarket in the nearby small town, practically on the way in, so you can do your shopping before arriving without making a big detour.
Or you can ask them to organize everything with breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Their chef, Ernest, cooks really well, and it lets you completely unwind for a few days.
We liked being able to alternate: some quiet meals on our own and others prepared for us.
That’s actually one of the things we appreciated here—it’s not an ultra-formal lodge where everything is scheduled at fixed times. You can head out early to Marakele, come back for lunch, enjoy the pool, go back out in the late afternoon, then have a braai or a relaxed dinner in the evening.
In terms of price, we also found the value for money really good for this level of accommodation and especially for the very private feel of the place. Sometimes it feels like you’re in a much more expensive lodge.
If you’re looking for lots of activity and dozens of people around you, this probably isn’t the right spot.
But for peace, wildlife, nature, wide-open spaces, and that feeling of being a little alone in the world, we absolutely loved it.

And if anyone knows Marakele or the Waterberg well, I’d love to hear about other spots to discover in the area.
While digging through the archives 🔍, we discovered a 19th-century journal 📜 bearing the name: "Le Petit Baigneur, weekly journal of beaches, spa towns, and thermal resorts in the South of France", published as early as 1886. Its motto? "All for the baths and by the baths" 🏖️ — what a program!
We found the name so amusing that we chose it to rename our hotel: Hôtel Le Petit Baigneur!
140 years later, we’re carrying on this seaside tradition of the South of France in our own way 🏊♂️ — with a few fewer crinolines, but just as much love for the seaside. 😊

I found a hotel, the Kappa Club Crystal Bay Resort, and online reviews for this hotel recommend a guide named Omar. I contacted him via WhatsApp, and he's offering a 2-day, 1-night safari in Tsavo East, a "blue safari," and a Marafa Canyon day trip for 400 € per person.
I’m asking for help from people who’ve already done these excursions because I have no idea what these offers entail.

Hi everyone, I’m writing here because I’m really torn—I want to go on a trip. A vacation? 10 to 12 days, maybe 14 days. Starting March 14th. I’m in a wheelchair but completely independent. I was thinking of going to Martinique, but apparently, the hotels aren’t all-inclusive, which might be a hassle. If you have any advice, that’d be great. 6. A nice hotel (3 or 4 stars) but no need for an ultra-palace

Is the latter one reliable?

Bonjour nous arriverons dimanche 5 mai ( à partir de 16h25) à l'aéroport de Punta Cana pour profiter d'un séjour que mon amie à gagner à l’hôtel Gran Bahia Principe La Romana.
L'avion est offert par la compagnie aérienne, l'hôtel je pense par la chaine hôtelière, mais aujourd'hui je m’inquiète du transfert car aucune info et j'apprends que rien n'est prévu.
D’après ce que j'ai vu le dernier car expreso part de Punta Cana à 16h00
Y-a t'il d'autres moyens de transports collectif (guagua) qui puisse faire le trajet ou au moins nous avancer jusqu'à La Romana ou San Pedro de Marcoris et je pense qu'on finira le trajet en taxi.
Si c'est trop compliqué ça sera navette privée mais on est plus "lonely planet " que navette privée et hôtel tout inclus.
