Koh samui c'est l’ile la plus familiale que je connaisse.

Je suis actuellement a Koh Samui ou je finis mes vacances.
En voulant s'etablir en Thailande, Koh Samui et autres places, c'est long de ne rien faire.
L'ile fait 90 km de pourtour. Si l'on a pas de permis de travail (il faut creer une societe pour exploiter un business ce qui donne droit a 1 permis de travail et chaque fois que l'on engage un non thai il est OBLIGATOIRE d'engager 3 ou 5 (je ne sais plus) thai, ce qui leur evite le chomage.
Donc faire des vacances c'est une chose, vivre en permanence c'est une autre.

Nous pensons nous y installer pour un an au depart voir plus si ok .c'est plutot la source de revenus qui inquiete. Je partirais avec 150k€
J ai ouvert un commerce pour ma femme, et ça a plutôt bien marché.
Moi je me suis lancé dans la construction de villas car il y a de plus en plus de francais qui viennent s installer et investir en Thaïlande Ils achètent des terrains et font construire des maisons soit pour y vivre à l année ou par période, soit pour les louer aux touristes, soit pour les revendre. L immobilier et la construction marche très bien en ce moment, surtout pour des constructions moyennes.
Je pense qu il faut faire ce que l on sait faire au départ, et ensuite il faut voir sur le long terme.
150K€ c est deja un bon budget pour bien démarrer ici, mais il faut faire les bons choix...

Si vous ouvrez une guest house, vous devez forcément ouvrir une societe, et donc vous obtiendrez un visa d un an avec un work permit. La plus part des visas nécessite de sortir de thailande tous les 3 mois, mais certain comptable peuvent vous en dispenser a condition de leur payer un peu plus leur service.
Sortir chaque 3 mois n est pas forcément une corvée, cela peut etre l occasion de visiter une ville ou un pays voisin durant quelques jours.
Par contre pour votre mari , s il a un visa retraité , il ne pourra théoriquement pas travailler en thailande mais juste profiter de sa retraite.
Pour les locations, c est vrai qu en général les prix sont chers sur internet , mais il y a certains sites comme www.samui-location.com qui ont des logements a prix corrects et qui peuvent vous trouver des logements a la demande.

Pour trouver un travail en thailande , c est tres difficile car un thai est payé en moyenne 250 euros/ mois alors qu un etranger veut bien plus...
Pour se lancer dans la construction, il faut avoir des soutiens thailandais, soit avoir sa compagne thaie, soit avoir un ami thai, soit parler le thai.

En ce moment il y a deux activités qui marchent bien , c est soit ouvrir un commerce pour travailler avec des toursites ( bars, boutiques, resto etc..), Ma femme tient une boutique et ça marche plutot bien; soit investir dans l immobilier comme le font beaucoup d etranger ( achat/vente de terrains ou construction de villa pour mettre a la location).
Sinon la vie est assez facile ici, il y a tout ce que l on veut sauf la mauvaise ambiance de la france !

Comme déjà dit plus haut dans ce forum et vraisemblablement dans les autres aussi, il faut créer une société à 51% (sauf erreur) en main thaï, ce qui permet d'OBTENIR UN PERMIS DE TRAVAIL . Sinon pas de permis = pas de travail.

Je pensais plutôt venir pourquoi pas, travailler dans un premier temps, pour des français qui auraient montés leurs propres commerces, et non pas en ouvrir un, de cette manière là, peut-on obtenir un travail "reconnu" par l'état thaïlandais...?
Pas tout à fait exact ! 😄 Pas de permis = pas le droit de gagner de l'argent en Thaïlande, tu peux par exemple travailler pour une société étrangère à la Thaïlande avoir des revenus venant de l'étranger, dans ce cas tu travailles en Thaïlande mais pas besoin de Work permit, ... Ok c'est éloigné de ce cas !
En revanche, pas de Work permit = pas de Visa B (visa Travaille)

Je paye mon work permit c est 1000 b par mois. Puis mon comptable c est 1000 b par mois.
Ce n est pas de l impot sur le revenu.
Alors ton dossier n'est pas monté correctement, ton visa est de 3 mois ou 1 an ? Tu dois sortir de Thaïlande tous les 3 mois ? Dans tous les cas tu es dans l’illégalité.... ton comptable ne te déclare pas 50 000 Thb de revenu ! 😕

Tu dois déclarer 50 000 Thb. après un an pour le renouvellement, donc si tu as déclaré 30 000 Thb. la première année, c'est ok si tu continu a déclarer 30 000 Thb. la deuxième année, c'est que ton comptable à clôturer la demande jamais complète pour en ouvrir une nouvelle d'où pourquoi je te demande la durée de ton visa😛... mais au fond c'est sans importance.... pour moi ! 😏
Ps Si ton comptable déclare 30 000 Thb c'est bien pour payer moins d'impôts sur le revenu, impôts que ton employeur a la gentillesse de te payer, ... car c'est toi-même ! 😏 😏

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

I’m looking for info on villages around Aix, like Fuveau, Bouc-Bel-Air, or even Éguilles and Venelles?
We’re a couple with a child living in the Paris region, and I’ll be relocating to Aix-en-Provence in spring 2026. We’d love to swap our apartment for a house with a pool within 20-30 minutes max of central Aix, with a budget of around 650k €.
In terms of climate and geography, I’ve read that Aix is in a basin where it can get really hot. What about the surrounding villages that are a bit more elevated, like Venelles? Is it just as stifling?
Starting this spring, we want to settle near Aix-en-Provence. We're tired of living in the mountains with all the snow—we really need some sunshine and a fresh start. Is it hard to find a house to rent there? What about prices? If you have any great tips or useful info about the area, we’d love to hear it. I work in education and want to do prevention work in Marseille or Aix—are there jobs in the social sector?
Anyway, we need tons of info, but we’re sure we’re going to take the leap—no hesitation, adventure is adventure!!!

Ideally, I’d like to work part-time in a private hospital as an osteopath. I’m thinking that in Thailand, the medical field is much more open than in Europe!!! Has anyone seen an osteopath or chiropractor working in a Thai hospital? Do you know the price of a consultation?
