Nous sommes un jeune couple dans la vingtaine vivant en Chine depuis bientôt 2 ans. Travaillant dans le domaine du web, nous avons l'opportunité de venir nous installer 6 mois en Thaïlande à partir du 7 avril et avons du mal à nous arrêter sur un choix. En effet après ces longs mois à supporter la pollution chinoise et la surpopulation, un peu d'air frais ne serait pas de refus Pour l'heure donc nous serions davantage tentés par le Sud et ses plages même si le Nord est moins cher et les gens y sont plus accueillants...
Concernant le logement, notre budget s'articule autour de 10 000 Bahts par mois hors charges, mais peut être étendu à 12 000 s'il s'agit vraiment d'un coup de cœur. Habitués aux petits espaces, nous n'avons pas de grandes exigences hormis une cuisine équipée et la possibilité de disposer d'une bonne connexion Internet pour le travail.
Pour le moment nous hésitons entre ces différentes possibilités :
1/ Koh Phangan : que des avis positifs sur cette île / possibilité de trouver des coins calmes malgré les soirées mondialement connues / moins urbanisée que Koh Samui
2/ Koh Lanta : grande île magnifique et encore préservée / commence à se développer / possibilité d'y vivre ?
3/ Krabi (Railay ou Ao Nang) : idéalement situé près des îles / bien développé / cher ?
4/ Ko Chang : magnifique mais pas beaucoup d'avis sur la possibilité d'y vivre
5/ Koh Tao : plus petite que Koh Phangan / plus tranquille ?
6/ Chiang Mai : extrêmement appréciée des expats apparemment / au Nord donc moins cher / pas la mer :(
Nous recherchons avant tout la tranquillité tout en découvrant les coutumes de ce fabuleux pays, c'est pourquoi nous avons décidé de fuir Phuket !
Étant donné que nous arrivons en saison creuse, certains nous ont dit que nous n'aurons pas trop de mal à trouver un appart ou une maison d'une chambre mais les avis semblent diverger.
Quel serait le choix le plus judicieux selon vos expériences personnelles et nos critères précédemment établis ?
1// fuir phuket pour aller a Krabi LohLanta Koh Phangan .. ??? tous ces lieux sont blindés de touristes ( et vous allez retrouver 20 a 30% de chinois )
2/ liaison internet haut debit sur K Tao Phangan Lanta Koh Chang - j'en doute fort
3// climat de mousson pour la partie sud de mai a novembre sur Phuket Krabi Lanat .. pour le bord demer il faut aller plutot sur l'archipel de Samui ( et ses 30% de chinois et 25 % de russes )
5// bord de mer et destination touristique === vie artificiellement plus cher qu'ailleurs
6/ liaison internet haut debit impose souvent centre ville et ville ( donc plutot centre de Phuket ou centre de ChiangMai
On veut fuir les touristes mais pas non plus se retrouver sur une île déserte. On sait très bien qu'on s'installant au sud nous seront confrontés aux touriste mais une chose est sûr, il n'y aura jamais autant de monde qu'en Chine.
Pour le haut débit nous avons eu des confirmations sur l'île de Koh Phangan donc cette destination reste encre notre premier choix, nous avons ensuite Kamala que beaucoup de personne nous ont conseillé et en troisième option sera donc Chiang Mai.
je viens probablement comme un cheveu sur la soupe car votre demande date de + d'1 mois🙂 et vous avez (je l'espère!)déjà trouvé l'endroit qui vous convienne.
Pour info, étant partie de mars à septembre il y a quelques années, j'ai complètement craqué sur Koh Phangan ou j'y suis restée 3 mois. J'ai trouvé une petite maison près de Tong Sala, pour 300 Euros en dehors de l'endroit hypra-touristiques de Hadrin (full moon) qui me permettait malgré tout d'y aller quand j'en avais envie, j'ai du acheter une cuisinière, casseroles et autres objets indispensables (Etait compris l'eau, l'electricité, le frigo, le lit). Aucun problème pour les connexions Internet (haut débit) mais à Tong Sala...pas dans la maison !. J'ai profité de visiter l'île en toute tranquillité avec mon moteur-bike et je peux vous assurer qu'il y a pleins d'endroits encore en dehors du temps. En restant plusieurs mois, on a la possibilité de rencontrer des Thailandais qui nous drivent sur des sites encore préservés. Allez au temple, sur les hauteurs de l'île, les moines m'ont fait rencontrer des gens exceptionnels. Je ne connais pas Koh Lanta, ni Krabi. J'ai également adoré Koh Tao, beaucoup plus tranquille, un paradis pour la plongée. Pour Ko Chang, j'y suis allée l'année passée en tant que touriste et je ne sais pas les possibilités de locations à long terme (Egalement haut débit !). Par contre Chiang Mai est un enchantement, les gens sont adorables, il y a de nombreuses possibilités de vous baigner dans les points d'eaux aux alentours (mais pas de mer, effectivement 😐) Vu votre age, je vous conseillerai Koh Phangan si vous voulez vraiment vous poser, sinon profitez de visiter tous ces endroits 😎 (ci joint la maison louée) Amicalement.
tout a fait d'accord avec vous - partout en thailande il suffit de faire 5 km de plus que les autres pour trouver des coins superbes , des gens sympas ..
par contre je suppose que dans votre belle maison ( exactement ce que j'aime quand je suis en vacances ) l'internet haut débit ne devait etre top ?
je reside a ChiangMai depuis plus d'1 decennie - a 10 km du centre ville - depuis 2 ans le haut debit arrive dans la boite de répartition a l'entrée du lotissement
et vu q'il y a un km de fil tel entre l'entrée et ma maison - le débit utile est limité, dans les meilleurs jours, a 10 Mbps en download et à 500 K en upload -
Concernant internet à Koh Phangan, forfait adsl de base TOT j'ai en moyenne 4-5 Mbps en download et - pas terrible ... 0.5 en upload. Mais ça reste suffisant pour du web.
Tu trouve pas mal de maison à louer dans tes prix et en dehors de Thong Sala (le village principal) avec une ligne adsl en place que tu n'as pas à partager (penser à changer le mot de passe du wifi).
Boah j'imagine que ça dépend ce que tu fais. Du code ça pèse pas grand chose. Images, à moins d'en avoir 800 à uploader dans la minute, pareil. Tu peux bosser en local et uploader sporadiquement pour du matos plus lourd (vids). Enfin, j'imagine ... ;)

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
