Je suis en ce moment en deuxième année de langues étrangères appliquées anglais-espagnol avec mandarin comme troisième langue. L'année prochaine, je vais devoir effectuer un stage d'une durée de 4 mois à l'étranger.
La majorité des élèves de ma promo vont se tourner vers les USA ... Pour ma part, j'ai envie d'être un peu plus original, et surtout de découvrir une zone du globe et un pays qui me font VRAIMENT très envie. Déjà, je suis passionné par l'Asie qu'il s'agisse du moyen ou de l'extrême orient. Un de ces pays tout particulièrement m'intéresse de plus en plus, il s'agit de Singapour. De l'idée que j'en ai, il s'agit d'une zone de rencontre de multitudes de cultures. C'est aussi, à mon sens, un état "semi-totalitaire", ce qui à l'avantage de maintenir l'ordre.
J'aimerais vraiment y effectuer mon stage de Licence. Grâce à ma formation, je pense plutôt cibler les secteurs du tourisme ou des affaires. J'aurais donc souhaité avoir le maximum d'informations de la part de personnes qui ont visité ce petit pays, voire même, pourquoi pas, de personnes qui y resident. J'ai déjà connaissance du caractère restrictif de la législation du pays, mais n'étant ni homosexuel, ni libéral, je ne pense pas avoir trop de difficultés sur ce point Je suis également un peu au courant des prix (Astronomiques) de la vie dans la ville (Mais si quelqu'un avait des valeurs chiffrées pour les éléments de la vie courante du style bouffe et loyer, je les veux bien. Car en réalité, c'est surtout sur les aspects financiers et administratifs que je me pose des questions ^^)
Enfin, j'aurais souhaité avoir des informations relatives aux offres de stage. Quelqu'un qui s'y connait jugerait-il crédible d'effectuer une demande de stage et si oui, plutôt auprès de grosses sociétés, ou serait-ce plus prudent de cibler des entreprises moins importantes ? Voire même des entreprises françaises implantées sur place ? Pour terminer, beaucoup parlent de Singapour comme d'une terre d'opportunités, est-ce crédible d'envisager d'y trouver un emploi durant ma période de stage, avec comme bagage une licence de LEA, une bonne pratique de l'anglais, un niveau correct d'espagnol, un niveau débutant de mandarin et bien sûr, une maîtrise totale de la langue de Molière ? Je me pose la question car je sais que certains élèves de ma promo ont évoqué l'idée de profiter de leur stage aux USA pour y trouver un emploi.
En dehors de Singapour, d'autres pays attiraient mon attention : Hong Kong (Mon numéro 2, mais le seul défault qui me rebute, c'est la pratique du chinois traditionnel ), l'Australie et la Nouvelle-Zélande (Mais je cherche surtout un changement de culture, et je ne pense pas que c'est là que je le trouverais), ou l'Inde.
Voilà, si quelqu'un peut me répondre. Ça ne presse pas, j'ai encore plus d'un an avant de devoir partir. Néanmoins, je pense envoyer mes premières demandes au début de l'année 2014, donc je souhaite être certains avant de me lancer et disposer de toutes les informations.
Pour ton stage, je te conseille de viser des entreprises françaises implantées sur place. Si tu sais précisément ce que tu recherches, tu peux aussi viser des entreprises spécifiques locales ou étrangères implantées sur place si tu penses avoir des compétences ou connaissances de niche recherchées et où tu sais qu'il y a un manque de main d'oeuvre (pour les compétences activement recherchées, voir : http://www.mom.gov.sg/skills-training-and-development/skills-in-demand/Pages/skills-in-demand.aspx). Le tourisme est un secteur en pleine croissance à Singapour. À toi de convaincre que tu vaux plus qu'un autre et que ça vaut la peine d'aller dégoter quelqu'un à 11.000 kilomètres. Je ne sais pas si un working holiday visa pourrait s'appliquer dans ton cas (voir : http://www.mom.gov.sg/foreign-manpower/passes-visas/Pages/default.aspx#fut). Pour la taille des entreprises, peu importe tant qu'il y a de la demande. C'est envisageable de trouver du boulot sur place pour après ton stage si tu montres que tu sais bosser et que tu sais te rendre indispensable. Le mandarin peut te donner un certain avantage par rapport à d'autres Occidentaux, évidemment pas par rapport aux Chinois. L'espagnol ne te servira à rien à Singapour : s'il y a un besoin, les entreprises préfèreront recruter un espagnol qui parle mandarin. Ou mieux, un Chinois parlant espagnol ! Mais bon, si tu fais l'affaire pour le job et qu'en plus tu parles espagnol, personne ne t'en voudra. Dans tous les cas, garde à l'esprit que les conditions pour embaucher des étrangers sont rendues de plus en plus difficiles depuis quelques années, donc rien ne sera jamais gagné ni facile.
Pour le reste, Singapour est effectivement un endroit assez ordonné et où il y a moins de libertés qu'en Occident mais cela ne se voit pas du tout au jour le jour. Enfin c'est pas du tout comme si en te balladant dans la rue tu te disais toutes les 5 minutes "houlala, faut que je fasse attention à ce que je fais et ce que je dis". Pas du tout ! Tant que tu ne t'amuses pas à aggresser autrui, vandaliser son bien ou à verser dans l'activisme politique, tu ne te rends pas vraiment compte de ce "semi-totalitarisme" pour reprendre tes mots. L'homosexualité y est effectivement interdite (mais plus punie), mais un homme et une femme se roulant des grosses galoches en plein métro sera de toute façon assez mal vu également et gare s'y quelqu'un s'en plaint.
Pour les prix, le loyer peut varier de moins de 500 dollars par mois en partageant sa chambre dans un HDB loin du centre à plusieurs (dizaines de) milliers de dollars pour un condo hype dans un quartier branché. Pour la nourriture, tu peux manger pour 3 dollars voire moins en foodcourt. À-partir de 7/8 dollars en restaurant. Manger français, tu peux trouver pour 20/25 dollars dans certains resto. Mais y'a pas vraiment de maximum, certains restaurant te factureront 100 dollars pour une chips. Ton camembert coutera 15 dollars en supermarché. Un ticket de métro varie d'environ 0.75 dollars à environ 2 dollars selon la distance. 10 dollars pour une course en taxi d'un bout à l'autre du centre-ville. Compte 12 ou 15 dollars pour une bière dans un bar, 20 dollars le pack de 6 en supermarché, 40 à 50 dollars pour commencer à trouver un bon vin. 12 dollars le paquet de clopes, 11 dollars la place de cinéma. Pour donner un ordre d'idée.
