je voudrais savoir comment est la vie en guadeloupe ? est-ce que les choses ont changé ces dernières années ?
un membre de ma famille y a travaillé il y a une dizaine d'années et m'a raconté beaucoup de choses, son employeur lui faisait un pont en or pour travailler mais la vie était impossible, elle subissait trop de racisme au quotidien :
en tant que femme tu ne peux pas sortir la nuit tombée, seule dehors pour aller à la pharmacie par exemple, tu te fais agresser à 100%.
tu payes le bus plus cher.
tu fais la queue à la poste et quand c'est ton tour le guichetier prends sa pause.
dans les magasins tu on te sers en dernier.
tu te fais beaucoup harceler par les hommes...et pas toujours gentillement.
Aussi, pourquoi les maisons ne sont pas chères ? visiblement d'après les sites internet elles coûtent moins chères que sur la côte ouest de la métropole par exemple.
Pour avoir vécu à la Réunion et en Guadeloupe (Basse-Terre), la vie quotidienne est bien plus facile à la Réunion (au niveau administratif par exemple). En ce qui concerne le racisme en Guadeloupe, nous n'en avons pas souffert directement : nous avons toujours été servis comme les autres à la Poste ou dans les magasins ! Sauf une ou deux fois, où on nous a bien fait comprendre que nous n'étions pas "chez nous". Cela reste des cas isolés et on ne peut pas généraliser. Je parlerais plus d'une "ambiance" de racisme, mais bien sûr c'est subjectif (mais je n'avais jamais ressenti cela à la Réunion.)
L'insécurité est comme partout, il vaut mieux éviter de sortir seul le soir. Mais les gens sont d'un naturel calme, et si tu peux te faire accoster, ce ne sera jamais agressif. Voilà, j'espère avoir un peu éclairé ta lanterne. Cordialement.
On habite avec ma femme en Guadeloupe (à Saint-Claude) depuis 6 ans (nous sommes métros).Sans vouloir mettre en doute la bonne foi de ton amie, je suis pour le moins surpris par ce qu'elle décrit:On ne se fait pas agresser à 100% mais il peut y avoir un risque par exemple dans un quartier mal famé (surtout la nuit) de Pointe-à-Pitre que je connais et que tous les locaux connaissent, mais bon, il ne faut pas chercher les problèmes non plus.
Pour le bus, sincèrement, les prix sont affichés, donc si tu payes plus cher c'est qu'il y a un problème.
Le guichetier prend très souvent sa pause entre midi et deux mais pas forcément quand c'est mon tour ou celui de ma femme, même si c'est déjà arrivé, il ne faut pas être parano non plus.
Dans les magasins, ma femme et moi sommes servis comme tout le monde, quand c'est notre tour.
Par contre pour la drague, il est vrai que les risques (ou les chances😎) de te faire aborder sont plus élevés que dans d'autres régions de France, (j'ai pu le constater) mais bon ce n'est pas non plus systématique et puis faut pas s'énerver, c'est le folklore, et surtout, ce n'est pas agressif, ils sont respectueux dans la grande majorité.
Maintenant il y a des cons partout et la Guadeloupe n'échappe pas à cette règle, tu peux tomber sur des cons, et même des racistes (comme partout), une fois je me suis engueulé avec un gars et il m'a dit clairement en créole que les métros lui cassaient les c........, mais bon ce sont des cas isolés, ça ne m'est arrivé qu'une fois, et la majorité des gens sont sympathiques et drôles, même s'ils ne sourient pas de manière spontanée lorsqu'ils ne te connaissent pas bien, mais lorsqu'ils te connaissent et qu'ils t'ont "adopté", PA NI PWOBLEM.Par contre pour le prix de l'immobilier je ne connais pas tes sources, mais je ne trouve pas ça donné du tout.Tu devrais venir faire un tour en vacances, je suis sûr que ça te plaira, maintenant peut-être qu'en comparant avec la Réunion, tu préféreras la Réunion, c'est tout à fait possible.

En 1 mois tu seras si tu es chez toi.
Apprends le créole et parle le plus possible, pas pour faire style-genre, mais parceque tu comprends que c'est une composante des relations locales à ne pas négliger.
Bonne chance, tu vas voir que c'est très simple.
PS: évite de discuter les prix, surtout avec les garagistes, pas tellement dans les moeurs.
Je suis une jeune professionnelle de 21 ans, titulaire d'un diplôme d'assistante de service social, vivant en Métropole et originaire de Martinique.
L'année prochaine si tout ce passe bien avec mon copain je le suivrais en Guadeloupe pour y vivre définitivement. En effet, il est né là bas et n'est venu en métropole que pour ses études.
Mon problème est le suivant : je ne connais pas le contexte de la guadeloupe au regard de l'emploi, je comprends le créole mais je bloque pour le parler (mon créole n'est pas spontané), je ne connais personne là bas (bon jvé y aller 2 semaines en décembre mais ça ne va pas suffir pour me faire une idée.), et je devrais trouver un appart...

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
