Je serai au Tadjikistan du 6 juin au 20 juin et je me déplace en moto.
Voici en gros mon itinéraire:
- Entrée par Oybeck - Buston
- Route M34 puis A377 direction Pendjikent. Visite des 7 lacs de Marguzor puis arret vers Artush pour 1 journée de rando à pied vers les lacs Kuli Kalon et un col au dessus si possible (si pas trop de neige). A ce sujet, est ce que je peux laisser ma moto au bout de la piste carrossable le matin et avoir de grande chance de tout retrouver le soir (le sac polochon qui sera dessus + mon casque et mon blouson attaché avec un antivol de vélo) ?
- Retour sur la M34 direction Dushambé (est ce qu' on est obligé de passer par le tunnel de Anzob où le Anzob pass est encore ouverte ?)
- Ensuite Khorog avec détour dans la vallée de Tekharv puis un autre dans la vallée de Bartang (suivant le niveau des rivières).
- Ensuite Pamir Highway en passant par Ishkashim puis Murgab et Sary Tash en visitant la vallée de Rukhch.
Sur ma carte (Reise how know asie centrale), il y a une route/piste qui fait le tour du lac Karakul. Est ce qu' elle est praticable en moto version voyage ?
Les différentes sources d' eau chaude sont elles faciles à trouver ?
Est ce que vous me conseilleriez de petites modifications, en particulier pour les monts Fan pour faire de jolie rando à la journée ?

il n'y a aucune certitude en la matière, mais a priori, peu de risques. Le gens du coin avaient plus tendance à fourrer des pastèques ou des abricots dans nos sacoches qu'à les vider... Au pire, demandez au Alplager (un refuge alpin, au bout de la piste carrossable) si vous pouvez leur confier la moto, moyennant quelques somonis de frais de gardiennage. La rando aux lacs Kulikalon est belle, et ça devient carrément superbe si vous montez au-dessus, vers les 2 petits lacs supérieurs et le col Alaudin.

la piste n'est pas en bon état, vu qu'elle n'est plus vraiment entretenue depuis l'ouverture du tunnel. Mais ça devrait passer, à moins qu'il n'y ait eu de gros éboulements récemment. Et c'est beau. Par contre, à mon avis, en juin, c'est trop tôt : il y a régulièrement des coulées d'avalanches qui mettent longtemps à fondre sur le versant nord.
Autres questions : je ne sais pas encore, je serai là-bas aussi en juin-juillet (à vélo)

je voulais faire le visa Iran à Trabzon mais aux dernières nouvelles il y aurait des problèmes, on fera donc tout avant de partir;

Il faut faire attention à l' Iran et la Russie où tu dois rentrer dans les 3 mois à partir du moment où est fait ton visa.
si mes souvenirs sont bons, c'est le cas aussi pour les visas ouzbek et tadjik. Le visa turkmène, c'est encore plus contraignant, il faut fixer les dates d'entrée et sortie.
je n'ai pas cherché sur leur site, mais les dates de validité inscrites sur mon visa de 2012 ne laissent guère de doute à ce sujet, et si les procédures se sont simplifiées pour le Kyrgyzstan et le Kazakhstan, je n'ai pas l'impression que ça aie bougé pour l'Ouzbekistan et le Tadjikistan.
Je pense recevoir mon visa ouzbèk demain ou après demain. Je vous tiendrai au courant.

si ça n'a pas changé, ça ne devrait pas poser de problème : j'ai déposé en 2012 deux passeports + formulaires photos etc au consulat tadjik de Genève, le mien et celui de ma coéquipière. J'avais ensuite laissé le récépissé à mon frère qui a récupéré les 2 passeports avec nos visas 10 ou 15 jours plus tard. A l'époque, ce consulat donnait facilement 45 jours, et le permis GBAO pour une vingtaine d' € supplémentaires (je ne me souviens plus du tarif précis)

d'après d'autres voyageurs ils est possible ( pour ceux qui sont loin de Genève ) de prendre le visa Tajikistan au consulat d'Istanboul dans la journée ( je leur ai demandé par email, j'attends une réponse )
Moi non plus je n'ai pas compris (à part Iran et Russie ) si les visas Ouzbekistan et Tadjikistan doivent etre utilisés dans les 3 mois

j'ai reçu la réponse du consulat d'Istanbul : visa en 30 mn pour 50 $, mais pas le gbao à prendre a Dushanbe
If you pass though Istanbul, we can issue you a tourist visa here in about thirty minutes. You will need to bring two photos, fill an application form and pay $50. Regarding your vehicle, we don't know the procedure for crossing the border with your car. And about GBAO, permission for that is issued only at the MFA of TJ in Dushanbe, TJ. No consulates or embassies issue it.

J' ai reçu mon visa ouzbèk aujourd'hui. J' avais demandé 15 jours avec des dates précises, je peux être dans le pays du 10 mai au 10 juin mais resté que 15 jours (normal).
Je pense donc que les 3 mois de validité n' ont plus lieu.
Mon cas sera un peu différent : je projette de rester dans le pays pendant la durée max du visa (a priori 1 mois en Ouzbekistan, et 30 ou 45 jours au Tadjikistan selon les consulats). Je ne pourrai donc pas me ménager de la souplesse en déclarant une période plus longue que le séjour prévu. Du coup, je vais quand même prendre mes visas en route, ça figera moins mon calendrier.
modif : en fait, suite à diverses infos, je viens de demander, et d'obtenir, un visa tadjik + permis GBAO au consulat de Genève. Ils peuvent le délivrer plus de 3 mois avant la date d'entrée.
Consulat ouvert au public seulement 3 matinées par semaine. Visa fait en au plus 48 h. Pas besoin de lettre d'invitation pour les visas de tourisme. Ils m'ont même fait mon visa + permis le jour du dépôt de passeport ; mais j'avais préparé la demande par courriel quelques jours plus tôt, et c'est plus rapide quand ce n'est pas une première demande (j'ai déjà un visa tadjik de 2012).

Pour la vallée du Bartang que j'ai fais cet été en Juin tu devrais pouvoir passer. Tu sais qu'il te faut le permis GBAO . La piste dans la Bartang peut d’emmener à Ghudara après tu peut rejoindre le goudron jusqu'à Karukul
MAIS c'est un parc protégé je ne sais pas si tu peux passer en moto
Il n'y a pas de village que des gens avec les animaux dans les pâturages
Les paysages sont extraordinaires tu risque de trouver de la neige
Si tu ressors vers le Kirghizistan les paysages y sont magnifiques, lacs salés avec des plantes particulières, glaciers, marmottes

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.
I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

Why not explore the Peloponnese!
I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

I’m looking for info on shipping my vehicle by sea—possibly to Uruguay or another destination, as I haven’t finalized anything yet.
How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.
Could you share your experiences or advice?

Next October we’re planning to ride the Ruta de la Plata by motorcycle—a historic Spanish route that runs from Gijón to Seville, also known as the N630.
Has anyone here already ridden it?
Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.
Here’s the idea:
Day 1 (departure at noon): Marrakech - Tizi n Test - Tafingoult (165 km - 4h15)
Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)

Day 6: Agoudim - Imilchil - Aghbala - El Ksiba (280 km - 4h45)
Day 7: El Ksiba - La Cathédrale - Zaouiat Ahansal (212 km - 4h20)
Day 8: Ahansal - Ouzoud Waterfalls via R 302 (188 km - 4h22)
Day 9: Ouzoud - Marrakech (160 km - 2h43)
