J’aimerai avoir quelques informations sur les différents visas possibles dans mon cas et savoir ce qui pourrait poser problèmes ou me donner des conseils.
Mon projet :
Je souhaiterai partir vivre à l’étranger et notamment aux US. J’ai toujours été intéressé par ce pays et mon voyage le printemps dernier m’a conforté dans l’idée de vouloir partir vivre là-bas. Ça fait plusieurs mois que j’y pense et j’essaye de m’intéresser aux démarches.
Présentation :
Pour me présenter, je m’appelle maxime et j’ai 23 ans. Je suis diplômé d’une licence professionnelle en informatique décisionnelle. J’ai travaillé 6 mois jusque là (sans compter mes stages) et j’aimerai bien partir vivre la-bas dans un an à peu près.
Le point qui me pose le plus de problème c’est le visa. Je ne sais pas trop quel visa serait le plus adapté à mon cas. Je pensais partir pour un visa H1B qui est valable 3 ans. Cela permettrait de me faire une bonne idée de la vie là-bas (en travaillant) et d’aviser après sur ce que je veux faire.
Cependant, je ne sais pas si je peux postuler pour ce visa ? J’ai vu sur certain site qu’il fallait un bac+5 mais sur d’autres ils mettent qu’un bac+3 est suffisant.
De plus, je ne sais pas si avec mon profil je pourrais obtenir ce visa ou si il y a des points qui risquent de poser problème.

Tu peux tenter le visa J-1 qui est un visa de développement professionnel, tout ce que tu as à faire c'est de trouver un employeur et toi tu t'occupes d'obtenir le visa via un organisme accrédité.
Le H1B est plus difficile à obtenir, et tu n'as pas encore beaucoup d'expérience dans ton domaine, je pense qu'après 3-4 ans à travailler dans ton domaine tu seras en mesure de l'obtenir, mais pour cela il faut que tu sois sponsorisé par un employeur US motivé à payer pour ton visa!
Regarde l'option du J-1 (sans frais pour l'employeur), mais dans tous les cas il te faut trouver un employeur de toute façon pour entamer le processus, donc commence par ça 😉.

J’avais regardé rapidement avant pour le visa J-1 mais j’avais vu « stage » donc je pensais que c’était uniquement pour les étudiants. Maintenant que j’ai regardé un peu plus dans le détail cela peu correspondre à ma recherche. Je vais continuer à chercher un peu plus sur le sujet pour voir les conditions d'obtention et voir les organismes.
Je ne m’inquiète pas trop pour trouver l’entreprise même si je sais que cela sera plus compliqué qu’en France. En France, il est très simple de trouver un travail dans ce domaine. J’essaye juste d’être bien informé sur le sujet pour ne pas être comme un con quand j’aurai trouvé une entreprise.
Pour quelle raison est-il plus difficile d’obtenir le visa H1B ? Il est difficile à obtenir ou c’est les entreprises qui n’en veulent pas trop ?
Après, je sais qu’il y a aussi la loterie pour la green card aussi mais même si je compte le faire je n’y crois pas trop 🙁.
Le visa h1B coûte très cher, et il y a des quotas. Une fois le quota atteint, un employeur doit attendre l'année suivante s'il n'a pas réussi à obtenir un visa pour un candidat. Un employeur doit absolument sponsoriser son futur employé pour lui obtenir un visa, cela exige un peu plus grand engagement de sa part. Mais en informatique, c'est courant.
La paperasse à fournir est aussi plus lourde, et il y a plus de règles (types d'entreprises, etc.)
Le visa j-1 est plus facile, et moins cher (environ 1000$) et l'employeur n'a qu'à fournir un contrat d'embauche. Il y a quelques autres petites formalités aussi, mais assez légères par rapport au h-1b. L'employeur ne sponsorise pas le candidat. Tu peux faire une recherche sur ce forum en tapant "visa j-1" tu trouveras plein de témoignages.
Il y a aussi le visa TN, très facile à obtenir mais réservé aux Canadiens et Mexicains. Pas ton cas.

De plus, je pensais participer à la loterie pour la green card aussi mais je ne suis pas sur que ça soit une bonne idée. Je m'explique, j'ai vu que les demandes de visa pouvaient nous être refusées si on ne prouvait pas qu'on avait suffisamment d'attache. Sauf que si je pars entre 12 et 18 mois, je n'aurais pas de CDI et pas de logement donc pas spécialement d'attache matérielle. Donc si ils voient que j'ai participé à la loterie et que je n'ai pas d'attache matérielle cela risque d’entraîner un refus du visa J-1 non?

Il existe des restrictions qui limitent la possibilité de postuler pour un autre visa à l'intérieur d'un délai de 2 ans, mais ce n'est pas systématique, je crois que ça dépend. Il y a quelques discussions que tu peux lire sur ce forum qui en parlent.
Donc si ils voient que j'ai participé à la loterie et que je n'ai pas d'attache matérielle cela risque d’entraîner un refus du visa J-1 non?
Tu peux participer sans problème. Dans les règlements de la loterie, les individus qui se trouvent déjà aux États-Unis sous un autre type de visa ont le droit de participer.
La loterie de la green card et la demande de visa sont 2 processus complètement différents, traités par des autorités différentes. Le fait de participer à la loterie n'est pas l'équivalent d'une demande de visa et n'aura aucun impact sur l'obtention d'un via J-1 (ou autre visa). Ce n'est pas quelque chose qui va te bloquer.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
