J'avais deja échangé quelques mails pour avoir des conseils sur les choses à faire, à voir... Et ça m'a pas mal aider à me faire déjà une petite idée...La chose qui me préoccupe un peu concerne le climat...Apparemment il pleut beaucoup en ce moment a Mada..Or nous nous étions définis comme zones à visiter:
1-Mananara-parc, et voyager autour (ile Aye-Aye, Soaenierana-Ivongo, Nosy Antafana...
2- Ste Marie
3- Diego et ses alentours
Quelqu'un peut il me dire si, à priori, le climat est favorable dans ces zones?
sinon y a t'il des coins plus "visitables" en ce mois d'Avril?

j ai pris contact hier avec des amis d antalaha il pleut beaucoup de plus d ici le 15 mars un nouveau cyclone menace s il arrive sur la cote est il va y avoir inondation et degats
et attention tres gros pbs de "dingue" dans tout le nord est diego compris en ce moment!!
la saison des cyclona se termine fin avril
pour la mer cela devient anecdotique
je crois que pour avril il faut aller vers l ouest

Sans vouloir te faire peur, il est préférable, vu les conditions météo en ce moment, de ne pas trop resté sur le nord, nord-est et nord-ouest et l'est de Mada. il pleut beaucoup (vois chaine météo.com)
Tu peux faire toute la partie sud et ouest de Mada. si tu tiens à partir à cette période

je suis allé sur la cote est (tamatave, ste marie..) fin mars il y a 5 ans.
le temps était beau, chaud, petit orage du soir... mais la période cyclonique était finie.
pour te rendre à Ste Marie, préfere l'avion de Tamatave (ou alors évite les bateaux si un grain menace, le soir par ex.; car ça craint un peu..)tout depend du budget bien sur..
un cyclone en avril, n'est pas impossible, mais plus rare, par contre tu peux subir encore les effets des cyclones passés(route et pistes défoncées et trempées, pont arrachés..
la cote ouest n'est pas épargnées non plus. Cette année, beaucoup de cyclones ont contourné le nord de mada, et sont revenus par le canal du mozambique.
tout d'abord merci pour toutes vos reponses. En fait, on préfère ne pas prendre de risques et faire la RN7 pour ensuite rester sur la cote sud-ouest... Au mieux une fois sur place, si on voit que le temps est clément on prend un avion pour Ste Marie et on terminera notre séjour la-bas... Sinon, je crois que la cote sud-ouest est aussi tres belle!

je rapelle que la saison se termine fin avril (voir 2001 et 2002) et cette annee deja 12 perturbations tropicales alors "wait ans see"

J'ai lu dans pas mal de messages qu'il valait mieux prendre l'avion depuis Tamatave pour aller a Ste Marie plutot que depuis Tana. Ya meme une agence qui vend des billets pas chers (agence Cap ste Marie).
Une question: trajet Tana-Tamatave, en voiture/taxi-brousse? combien de temps, sachant que ca serait en Avril?

Le trajet Tamatave -Tana, ça dépend de l'allure, mais généralement nous on le fait 7h à peu près en voiture, bien evidemment avec des petits breaks tout au long du trajet.
La période la plus propice pour Mada c'est vers novembre, décembre, c'est l'été;on est sur d'être tranquil avec les cyclones... il faut juste retenir en tête que, lorsque c'est l'hiver en France à Mada c'est l'été et vice versa.
Ceci dit, tout au long de l'année c'est chaud mais il faut prevoir de mauvais temps de temps en temps.
Le mois D'Avril c'est bien également, l'année dernière j'étais parti dans l'ESt de Mada, il faisait très beau temps.Le soleil était au rendez vous.....donc vraiment ça dépend, on peut avoir un "Avril" tranquil tout comme un avril agité..c'est caprice du climat tropical !!!

Eh bien la plupart des gens passe leur reveillon de fin d'année dans les côtes, et nous souvent on lpasse dans la côté-est; il fait chaud, beau temps...quoique mauvais temps par moment mais ça va.On a jamais eu de souci par rapport au cyclone !!

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

We’re more drawn to the Andes, exploring colonial cities, typical villages, markets, and a bit of the coast. We’ve already gotten a taste of this in Bolivia, Colombia, and Chile. Plus, we’d love to do part of it by car since we’re used to driving at our own pace and stopping whenever we feel like it. Anyway, time’s running out, and I need to decide so I can finalize a route and book the tickets!!

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Not sure if guidebooks, agencies, and other tour operators are keeping up by changing their visiting hours and offerings.
Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊
