I’m going to take a flight from BKK to Chiang Rai, then a bus and boat on the Laos side (no reservation made from France). Unless I book accommodation in Huay Xai, I’m not sure if that’ll be enough proof. I’ll think it all through. Thanks

Hi, I’m planning a trip to Laos from France with a transit through Thailand involving 2 entries. I might spend up to 7 days max in Thailand (round trip). The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.

With the new regulations/visa: "Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."

How do you think the counting is done? - Number of days spent in Thai territory? - Entry and exit dates: number of days between the two?

I’m leaning toward the first option, but to avoid any administrative hassles with Thailand (fines, etc.) and before booking my ticket, your input would really help.

Thanks—it’s not easy to find the info, especially when you’re not familiar with the Buddhist lunar calendar (the 15th day of the waxing moon of the 3rd month).

I was thinking the same thing... I never saw that in Luang Prabang back in 1998... there were so few or no tourists at all...

How did you get in touch with your guide? For the last part of your trip, were you without a guide? And on a motorbike?

ok merci si c'est faisable cela peut être une option. Je viendrai de Siquijor et passerai une nuit à Apo. je remonte après sur iloilo, cela m'éviterait de repasser par Siquijor pour passer via Dumaguete.

Denis, bonsoir (d'ici) ou bonjour pour toi.. pour le trajet que tu me conseilles, de Iloilo à Bantayan, en mettant bout à bout, ça doit bien faire 6 heures non ? si il n'y a qu'un départ par jour et à en plus à 9 h du mat (heu..., non), dur dur d’enchaîner... ou si non, je prendrai un vol iloilo Cebu, puis le bus jusqu' à Hagnaya, avec plus de trafic et la possibilité de faire ce trajet dans la journée, ça me parait plus faisable...qu'en dis tu ? merci

je cherche le moyen le plus pratique d'aller de Iloilo à Bantayan. J'ai repéré qu'il y avait des traversées depuis Estancia mais qui ne semblent pas régulières voire aléatoires. Auriez vous des infos à ce sujet ? merci
