We're off on an adventure in Egypt!
Thanks again, Franck, for sharing that magical trip with your hilarious writing style, and enjoy your Chinese adventure! 😁😂
Turkey 2026: Riviera, Antalya and Cappadocia
Yes, thanks for this lovely discovery, Bruno.
I have to admit, I found Gemini really helpful for tracking down those little spots I love during our last trip to India. And also for translating everything I came across, with a special fondness for local grievances 😅. It feels like I’m gaining a deeper understanding of the places I visit.
Cheers... straight from your beloved Cabo Verde 😊

Summer 2026 - 3 weeks in the Azores
I’m also joining Bluequark since we share a not-so-original common interest: a love for islands 😄.
Like Agnès, I’ve been eyeing the Azores without really knowing what’s there. You’re going to shed some light on things with your amazing itinerary—thanks in advance! 😊

Off we go exploring Egypt!
Well, I thought the Nile stroll was the highlight of your trip, but no way!
Those hot-air balloons over Luxor are absolutely stunning—wowwwww! 😲
I can't get enough of your epic stops! 😂
Animals, Nature and Culture in Zambia and Malawi
Thanks so much for this really interesting feedback, Dominique. This is truly "off the beaten path" travel 😮.
It really makes you want to go... apart from the border crossing, of course, but those are sometimes the joys of exotic adventure 😄

I’ll admit I don’t miss them at all, Agnès 😄

I feel like it's been a while since we've seen such a friendly vibe on VF, Kate 🤗😊.
And guys, do you realize that right now, millions of people are getting their faces bashed in??
Maybe there are more serious things than getting worked up over a contest that interests 20 people 🙄
In the land... of Senegambia
Ah, I knew you’d like it, Franck! 😄
So the first official border runs from Jiboro in Gambia to Seleti in Senegal.
The second, much less conventional one, is called Kartong.
Now, France Diplomatie advises against the area, but locals say there hasn’t been any trouble for ages. Up to you! 😉

In the land... of Senegambia
Well, thanks a lot Michel! 😁
I hope to tell you about Cape Verde soon since we’re heading there in 10 days! 😄
Have a great evening,
Christelle
Southwest USA Road Trip Part II
I was about to say that, Pascale! 😄 Mitch is really hard on himself. 😅
A week on foot on Maio, the wild one!
Rest assured, Marie and Bruno, it's all planned for a future trip 😢. Santo Antão deserves to take the time, and I don’t want to start with the most beautiful, which is why I made the original choice for a first visit to Santiago and Maio. But I’m sure I’ll discover some hidden gems too... just different ones 😉
A week on foot on Maio, the wild one!
That’s it, Marie 😊. Santo Antão looks amazing, but I really feel like a lot of people are heading there—it’s a bit off-putting for me.
Since I’m not a fan of seasickness, I’ve planned a flight from Santiago to Maio leaving on Tuesday and returning on Friday, but I haven’t completed the booking yet. Hope it’ll work out!
Have a good evening, Christelle

The 2026 Southwest USA Road Trip.
This city is so cool, Michel. Just missing the Ingalls family now 😄
Off to explore Egypt!
Seriously, Franck, it doesn’t happen often, but I think I’m gonna print your travel journal and copy-paste it for my next trip! It’s absolutely stunning!! Your photos are gorgeous, and on top of the water and sand, there’s even a botanical garden 🤩.
Quick question though: I guess there aren’t any flights near Dahab to get to Aswan (so you’d have to go back through Cairo)? Christelle

A week on foot on Maio, the wild one!
Awesome Marie, the info is even fresher, thanks!
Since almost no one goes there, I was thinking it might not be a good idea, but I think this little piece of the planet, a bit out of time, is made for us... at least for a few days 😁.
I’ll tell you all about it 😉.

A week on foot on Maio, the wild one!
Hi Marie,
Thanks so much for your feedback on the low-key Maio. It's tough finding info on this island.
Even though it's been 10 years, it doesn’t seem like much has changed. Fingers crossed there isn’t concrete everywhere now (but Google Sat is reassuring on that front 😊).
See you soon,
Christelle

If we can't have street theater with Michel, here’s almost beach theater instead! 😄

Off to explore Egypt!
Seriously Franck, not only are you confirming my Egyptian dreams, but as always with you, I’m laughing so hard 😂.
Thanks a million 😊!

Oman, at the edge of the sands and the horizon
Oh, I think the pace is more of an "optical illusion," Fabienne 😄. We *have* slowed down since our first trips 30 years ago, but maybe the way I tell the story gives that impression of speed, yeah.
