Bonjour à toutes et tous,

Je suis à 12 jours de mon départ pour le Riu Bellevue Park et mon Tour Opérateur Jetair m'apprend que Riu leur a signalé que le club était en overbooking et que mon séjour était annulé. Je précise que ma réservation a été faite le 11 février de cette année et que la période su séjour était prévue du 8 au 19 septembre. ( 7 mois pour découvrir un overbooking !? ) D'après le Bellevue Park, tous les clients ayant réservé pour cette période seront relogés dans d'autres Riu.

Je souhaiterais que toutes les personnes concernées par ce problème se manifestent sur ce forum et nous disent quelle solution de rechange leur a été proposée.

bonjour a tout le monde, j'ai decidé d'acheter un vélo de rando pour voyager et après m'être beaucoup renseigné ici et ailleurs j'hésite entre quelques modèles, dite moi ce que vs en pensez et lequel vous prendriez ?

j'ai éliminé cannondale (trop spécifique a priori pour réparer etc), aarios trop chères, koga miyata idem premier prix a 1700 euros. Giant => 24 vitesse (cassette 8v) deja a 1500 euros donc je vais opas en plus changer la cassette. j'ai aussi éliminé da silva car il ne livre pas et il faut aller sur bruxelles pour en avoir ( ou paris peut-être mais ça ne change pas grand chose je suis de bretagne)

j'hésite donc entre le orbea artea a 1449 euros ( il n'est pas marqué sur leur site avec quelle cassette il est équipé et a priori le seul hic c'est la hauteur du guidon au pire je changerais juste la potence) et cadre en alu (garanti a vie) le fahrrad t400 équipé en lx (les freins Magura HS-11, hydraulisch sont-ils bien?)car rolhof en voyage en region perdu c'est dur a trouver de ce que j'ai vu (cadre en chro-mo normal) que l'on peut acheter sur le site anglais bikefix a priori sur. 1 virée sur paris chez rando-cycle mais j'avais 1 question. Combien de temps faut t'il pour avoir son vélo definitif? J'ai vu qu'il y avait 3 modèle de base, est-il possible de prendre le basic ou celui du dessus a 2000 et de modifier certaine piece mettre a certain endroit du lx au lieu du deore etc.

enfin le modele basic tel quel.(est-il bien d'ailleurs et comparément a ceux que j'ai cité precedemment parce que 1000 euros équipé juste en deore est ce que ça vaut le coup.

In 2024, I spent two months solo in El Salvador. While I’m still putting together my travel journal on Myatlas, here’s a quick recap. It’s a country where it’s really easy to travel without a guide or agency.

SAFETY:

For a long time, the country was considered one of the most dangerous in the world because of the "maras," ultra-violent gangs. But today, I think it’s the safest country in Latin America.

BUDGET:

For French tourists, the country is very affordable, especially in the less touristy regions.

TRANSPORT:

I got around everywhere by local bus.

Local buses go everywhere and run all the time. For me, it’s the best way to travel in El Salvador—you’re fully immersed, moving at the pace of the locals, and interacting with Salvadorans who are eager to connect with travelers.

I saw all sorts of things on those buses—I’ve got dozens of stories!

PEOPLE:

I’m used to traveling all over Latin America, and for me, Salvadorans are the warmest and most welcoming. Everywhere you go, people say, "Welcome to El Salvador!" The connections and long conversations with locals were my favorite part of the trip.

TOURIST CROWDS:

The country isn’t well-known among European tourists, but Americans and Quebecers visit. Overall, it’s still pretty low-key, especially compared to other Central American countries. That said, tourism has been growing since security improved significantly.

WHAT I LOVED ❤️

-Suchitoto, one of the most beautiful colonial towns in Central America.

-The volcanoes—there are so many! Santa Ana is the most touristy.

-The lakes—also plentiful. Coatepeque is the most famous, but there are lots of lagoons too.

-The mountainous regions, where the cooler weather is a nice break: La Palma, Perquín, Cerro El Pital, etc.

-The charming villages along the Ruta de las Flores, especially Nahuizalco with its nighttime atmosphere and food stalls. Juayúa and others are great too.

-The conversations with people who lived through the horrors of the civil war in Perquín and Cinquera. I met one of them by chance while waiting for a bus.

For surfers, El Salvador is a paradise, with world-famous beaches.

WHAT I LIKED LESS:

I loved almost everything, but I found the archaeological sites a bit underwhelming. Joyabaj de Cerén is billed as the "Pompeii of El Salvador," which is a stretch (though it *is* a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its historical value).

Hi there, First question: We're leaving Kruger Park from Olifants camp to head to BRC. I know the drive is long (about 4 hours, especially since I think the part through the park will be slow due to animals). We're exiting the park via Phalaborwa Gate, but I can't find a map, so it's hard to tell if we'll arrive at the top of the Canyon or via Graskop to then drive up the Panorama Route.

Second question: I booked 1 night at Forever Resort, but if we arrive from the top and then drive down the Panorama Route, I'm not sure that's the best choice.

Third question: Since we're leaving Kruger early in the morning, I think we can plan to explore the area in the afternoon. We'll sleep there, and then we need to be at our lodge in the Balule private reserve by late morning (Imagine Africa) to catch the afternoon safari. I'm worried it might be too short if we want to do a boat trip on the dam! What do you think? Should I add another night? It's still possible since I haven't planned the rest yet, and we have 7 nights left in Cape Town, including Hermanus! Do you think I should cut short the Cape Town stay? If so, I could break the BRC trip into two parts—one night after leaving Kruger before the private safari, and then come back this way (since it's not too far, I think) after the two nights on safari before heading to Cape Town. But how can I organize the visits logically?

I can already hear Michel telling me I'm overcomplicating things!! 😉

Kattegat isn’t just the name of the village in the TV series *Vikings*—it’s also the stretch of water separating Denmark from Sweden... the sea, basically! And further north, you’ve got Norway and its fjords! Originally, I’d planned to just do a loop around Kattegat, with the *Under* restaurant in Lindesnes as our anniversary treat... but along the way, we thought, why not "push" a little further north, keeping an eye on the budget since we’d chosen to travel by car in June 2025 through Scandinavia.

Why by car when most travelers opt for a camper van, while others prefer the comfort of cruises? Well, because we don’t own a camper van, renting one is pricey, and then you’ve got to add fuel costs (those things guzzle gas!), ferry fees, and other "tolls." All things considered, we went for mostly rentals—especially since there were four of us at the start of the trip. We spent the first week in Denmark with our daughter and son-in-law. Then they flew back to Belgium, and we continued our adventure as a couple. For accommodation, we mainly booked Airbnb apartments, which helped keep costs down and, most importantly, let us prepare our own meals (diet, diet!). In this travel journal, you’ll discover (or rediscover, for those who followed my older ones) our unbridled love for theme parks, museums, unique experiences, and—especially in Denmark—Legos! Unfortunately, we didn’t do any hikes this year because the unpredictable weather had made the trails slippery, and since I’d already taken three tumbles during the trip, I didn’t want to risk another! In the end, we traveled for 32 days, covered 6,200 km, and most importantly, discovered the charming country of Denmark, marveled at Norway’s breathtaking fjords—all without suffering the heatwave that hit France and Belgium that June! Hi there, I’m facing a rather unusual issue with SAUDI AIRLINES. I booked a flight to Jakarta with a layover in Jeddah for July directly on their website on February 25th, paying for our three tickets via PAYPAL. I quickly received confirmation that my flight was booked and our e-tickets were issued. However, after several days, I noticed we were never charged for the tickets, and I saw on our PayPal account that the payment authorization was still pending.

At first, I chalked it up to cross-border or banking delays… but since I use PayPal often and the debit from my bank account is usually almost immediate, I called PayPal. They told me that neither they nor I had anything more to do: when a transaction is paid using their solution, the payment is systematically validated by the seller before the transaction (an automated process, I imagine). However, PayPal confirmed that SAUDI hadn’t done this and that they had a month to do so, otherwise the transaction would be canceled by PAYPAL and SAUDI wouldn’t receive the funds. There must have been a technical glitch because normally, I shouldn’t have received the tickets until they had received the payment.

Given the reviews I’ve read about their customer service, I’m worried they might cancel our tickets without notice once they realize their mistake—or that they’ll ask us to pay the amount at that point (since the closer we get to the date, the higher the price goes).

So, I’ve been trying to contact them nonstop via their app (I’ve submitted about 10 tickets), I’ve called them, messaged them on Messenger and Instagram, and so far, I haven’t gotten any response. Either they don’t read my message to the end and just reply that the flight is confirmed + resend the tickets, or more recently, they tell me the issue is being handled by another department. We tried calling them again on Saturday, but no luck—the French-speaking agents were always busy. On Messenger, they keep asking for the secret code sent by SMS at the start of the conversation, but of course, I never receive anything even though my number is correctly registered in my SAUDI account.

I don’t know what else to do, and I’m not sure if I’m right to worry they might cancel our tickets.

I’m afraid this could jeopardize our dream trip, for which I’ve already booked hotels and activities… and we were really looking forward to it.

I hope you can shed some light on this?

The Afrosiyob races through a premature twilight, lashed by a blizzard of thick snow. In the endless gray, a monumental industrial complex occasionally emerges, ghostly. Here and there, in the middle of nowhere, a human silhouette appears (a soldier?), standing motionless by the tracks. On the screen mounted in the middle of the ceiling, a dashing Bollywood cat in vibrant colors writhes in all directions, throwing smoldering glances at a dancer on the verge of fainting. A server moves down the central aisle, offering crepes for sale—ones I suspect are stuffed with ground beef. I’m in Central Asia, in Uzbekistan, somewhere between Bukhara and Samarkand.

I chose the title "notes"—scattered thoughts, rough drafts. I’m not sure what I’ll write, but one thing’s certain: this won’t be a linear travel journal.

We’re planning a 15-day family trip in February 2026 (with 3 teens). We’ll be visiting friends who live in Puebla. Initially, I was thinking of the Yucatán, but after reading up on it, I don’t think it’s the right fit for us (too crowded, too touristy). So, we’re leaning toward something like this: - Mexico City: 2 days (Teotihuacán + city) - Puebla: 3 days - Tehuacán: 2 days (to break up the trip—is this a good choice? Is there enough to do for 2 days?) - Oaxaca: 3 days (Hierve el Agua, Monte Albán, city/tours) - Pacific Coast: 4 days (snorkeling, excursions)

Does this seem balanced? We’d like to end on the coast for some relaxation, ocean time, and fun for the kids. I’ve seen lots of excursions offered along the coast but can’t decide where to stay. Puerto Escondido? Huatulco? The beaches seem better for snorkeling in Huatulco, but I’ve read mixed things, and it’s farther away. What do you think?

For transportation, is this doable by bus? I’m struggling to find a decent bus between Tehuacán and Oaxaca (overnight schedules), and I’m not sure how to get around the coast. Also, how do we handle luggage between cities? We usually rent a car.

Finally, I’d love feedback on the Pacific Coast excursions—I get the feeling some are worth it and others aren’t. Is bioluminescence really magical? Are dolphin-watching tours ethical and not too "factory-like"? (We skipped them in Quebec and just watched whales from shore.) Can you see sea turtles up close?

We had a great time. Now we’ve got to pay the price. We’re down one stop before Katherine. Gotta do the whole trip in one go—6 hours of driving. Let’s go! We’re a bit low on fuel with only 300 kilometers of range. The only station at the lake doesn’t open until 9 a.m., and the next (and only) one is 227 kilometers away… Should we risk it? Except for a magnificent frilled-neck lizard darting across the road on its big hind legs and an emu quickly disappearing into the bush, we didn’t see much. Oh—there was also a donkey, lost and panicked in the middle of the road… A quiet road with some beautiful scenery, some worrying bushfires

and a few opportunities to stop for a "warrior’s rest" (never go beyond the first second of the thought that starts drifting off the road…) We cross an invisible border as we enter the Northern Territory, which comes with consequences—we immediately lose an hour and a half by changing time zones. The speed limit goes from 110 to 130.

We arrive at the self check-in in Katherine. As usual, we’re a little taken aback at first. The noise, for starters. There’s a group rehearsing, it seems. We go check it out. We pass through the doors separating "The Stuart" from the adjoining bar and stumble upon what feels like collective hysteria. Turns out, it’s a concert. Aboriginal musicians completely fired up by some incredible music! There are just three of them, but they’re delivering a wall of sound that reminds us of South Africa’s finest neo-techno with a trance-like vibe. The crowd is wild! They’re singing in unison, screaming with joy. We get gently kicked out by security because we’re carrying our groceries, and they’re not having it. We promise ourselves we’ll come back once we’ve put them away in our little fridge.

Then we land. We end up finding plenty of nice things. It’s very possible we’ll like this place!

We head back to enjoy our post-battle Happy Hour. The concert’s over, but the crowd’s still riding the high. It’s indescribable. People are shouting across the room, screaming just for the fun of it—men and women alike. There’s pool, some beat-up arcade games being shaken like coconut trees. Dom and I feel like anthropologists. We’re pretty blown away. It’s epic! And the beer’s half the price it is elsewhere! We’ll definitely be back—that’s for sure!

We give up on finding a restaurant. Not sure they even exist, at least not this season. So, we’ve got a microwave—we eat at home on our little terrace, with a musical accompaniment from a massive orchestra of birds. It sounds amazing!

We bought round-trip tickets from Mulhouse/Basel to Maun (Botswana) in January 2023 through Option Way.

Turkish Airlines issued the entire round-trip tickets. The flight plan was:

31 August 2023: TK 926 from Basel/Mulhouse to Istanbul and TK38 from Istanbul to Johannesburg 1 September 2023: Airlink (4Z)300 from Johannesburg to Maun. 11 September 2023: Airlink (4Z)301 from Maun to Johannesburg and TK43 from Johannesburg to Istanbul 12 September 2023: TK1923 from Istanbul to Basel/Mulhouse.

On 1 September, on the outbound trip, Turkish Airlines flight TK38 from Istanbul to Johannesburg arrived 1 hour and 30 minutes late due to airport congestion. As a result, we missed our connection with Airlink flight (4Z) 300 from Johannesburg to Botswana (even though the initial layover time was sufficient for the connection). Upon arrival at Johannesburg Airport, a Turkish Airlines agent greeted us, booked us a room near the airport, and rebooked us on the same flight for the following day, 2 September. On 2 September, after numerous difficulties checking in at the Airlink counter in Johannesburg, we finally reached our final destination with a 24-hour delay. We lost our first day of vacation in Botswana, including the activities that were planned for that day. On 11 September, during our return trip and almost certainly due to the rescheduling of the outbound flight, the Airlink check-in counter in Maun did not recognize our tickets issued by Turkish Airlines. After many searches and phone calls, we had to buy new tickets for the Maun/Johannesburg flight 4Z301. This cost us 9,306 Botswana pula (643 €). Upon arrival in Johannesburg, the Turkish Airlines check-in counter again had trouble identifying us for flight TK43 from Johannesburg to Istanbul. It’s clear that the root of our check-in problems stemmed from the renumbering of our tickets when the Turkish Airlines representative rebooked us on the Airlink (4Z)300 flight for 2 September. During this process, all subsequent flight tickets must have been canceled. Since our return, I’ve requested the following from Turkish Airlines: · Compensation under the European Regulation EC 261/2004 of 11 February 2004 for flight delays, amounting to 600 € per passenger. We meet all the conditions: departure from a Franco/Swiss airport, arrival at the final destination more than 4 hours late, and a distance greater than 3,500 kilometers. Turkish Airlines has not provided evidence that they did everything possible to avoid this delay. · Reimbursement for the Airlink Maun/Johannesburg tickets on 11 September, which we had to pay again to Airlink even though we had already paid for them through our agent, Option Way. Turkish Airlines refuses compensation on the grounds that they complied with all regulations. Turkish Airlines and Airlink are passing the buck when it comes to reimbursing the tickets we paid for twice. For Turkish Airlines, claims can only be made through their website, and each time a different agent responds. I’ve contacted our insurance, legal protection, the travel ombudsman... without success. Currently, the case is with a lawyer working for "Air Indemnité," but I have little hope. Obviously, I won’t be flying with Turkish Airlines again—they seem to have a habit of not respecting schedules or customer satisfaction. A good lesson for planning very long layovers.

Mésaventure avec Probikeshop, ou les joies du commerce en ligne: Je précise que je n'ai pas l'habitude d'utiliser ce genre de service mais la marque n'étant pas distribuée près de chez moi j'ai opté pour la commande par internet .

J'ai passé commande le 11 aout, le 12 Probikeshop m'informe que le colis vient d'être confié à Chronopost qui doit livrer sous 48h. Jusque la tout va bien ... Le 19 aout, soit une semaine plus tard ! Chronopost m'informe que le colis ne sera pas livré ou cela était prévu (la boulangerie à deux pas de chez moi) mais à un autre point relais à 40km ! (pour quelle raison ? aucune explication) J'informe par mail Probikeshop que je ne suis pas en mesure de me déplacer jusque la et qu'en outre si je dois faire 80km AR pour un colis je ne vois pas l'intérêt de commander par internet , donc soit ils font le nécessaire pour que le colis arrive à mon domicile soit je demande le remboursement. Probikeshop me répond prés d'une semaine plus tard ! (27 aout)que le colis va etre retourné chez eux et que je recevrais le remboursement total des qu'ils l'auront reçu . On est le 11 septembre et je n'ai toujours pas été remboursé ! Voila un site qui n'assume pas ces fautes, je comprends qu'en l'occurence ce soit le transporteur qui est le fautif mais dans ce cas Probikeshop aurait du premièrement s'excuser du préjudice et deuxièmement se débrouiller pour ré acheminer ma commande d'une autre manière et à leur frais ! Donc que tout le monde soit au courant avec ce revendeur ne comptez pas sur lui en cas de probleme !

J'aimerai visiter le Japon en famille durant les 2 semaines de vacances de Printemps (amis je ne connais pas encore l'année!). Nous sommes 5 ( dont 3 enfants de 15, 12 et 9 ans actuellement). Les tarifs en passant par agence ne sont pas du tout à ma portée. 2500 euros par personne sans l'avion et les repas, donc un voyage à plus de 15 000 euros .... Nous aimerions visiter Tokyo, Kyoto, Hakone, Osaka et peut-être Hiroshima (c'est un de mes fils qui réclame), tout en transport en commun. J'aimerai avoir les témoignages de familles ayant visiter de cette façon, en créant leur voyage de A à Z, et donc connaître le budget qu'ils avaient consacré. J'aimerai aussi savoir si c'est facile de prendre le train, si on ne se sent pas un peu perdu, et qu'en est-il des valises (car à chaque fois, en passant par agence, je lis que les valises font le trajet sans nous)?

En consultant ma réservation ce matin sur le site Volotea, je vois que mon vol retour Santorin-Bordeaux le 4 aout 2020 est annulé. Je n'ai reçu aucun mail pour m'en informer. Je ne sais pas comment faire car mon aller (avec Ryan air) est par contre confirmé, je peux m'enregistrer. Avez-vous des informations à ce sujet ? Mon vol Volotea peut-il être de nouveau programmé ? Sinon puis-je me faire rembourser si je dois trouver un autre vol retour ?

je viens d'avoir british airways (j'ai une ligne non surtaxée si besoin pour quelqu'un en MP pas eu trop d'attente mais ne pas lâcher quand c'est occupé recommencer multiples fois)!! et bien peanuts. L'agent que j'ai eu au tel stipule qu' ils ne remboursent pas à ce jour les billets pour les USA qui sont avant le 13 avril 2020 achetés l'année dernière dont les conditions ne sont pas remboursables....le coronavirus c'est pas leur soucis. Alors que d'autres compagnies aériennes font des gestes forts pour aider les clients...et même AGODA dont les chambres d'hôtels n'étaient pas remboursables remboursent sans problème dès aujourd'hui...

Alors la raison "à la trump" invoquée aujourd’hui les billets achetés à compter du 3 mars (on connaissait les dangers du virus) donc on peut obtenir changement ou bon avoir... les billets achetés avant le 3 mars on ne connaissait pas les dangers du virus donc c'est perdu vous n'avez droit à aucun remboursement (bon on sait que les taxes c'est remboursable).

je vais m'empresser d'inonder de messages les réseaux sociaux pour donner l'info. et faire un post bien voyant ici...sur VF Le gars il dit pour le moment n'annulez pas par vous même attendez peut être que ça va changer d'ici là....c'est clair que je vais attendre du coup....
