Voilà partant en Italie septentrionale le week end prochain avec mon amie, nous comptons nous arrêter à Mantova et Bergamo mais pas plus d'une journée donc j'aimerai savoir si ces villes valent le coup, les choses à ne pas manquer en une journée ainsi que les lieux incontournables qui s'y trouvent.Merci à ceux qui se donneront la peine de m'aider 🙂.

J'envisage de partir 1ere semaine d'octobre à Cinque Terre en italie. J'ai lu qu'il y avait pas mal de possibilités de sentiers de randonnées dans ce coin. Mais existe t'il une carte détaillée des sentiers, est ce bien balisé?

J'ai vu sur le site du parc national des cinq terres un descriptif des sentiers mais en italien seulement. Est ce que sur place on peut le trouver en anglais voire en français par ex?

Le tout est de savoir si on peut s'organiser seuls pour randonner ou si l'on passe par une agence comme Allibert par ex qui propose des randonnées en liberté (herbegement en 1/2 pension avec fourniture des topo-guides et descriptions des randonnées)

Bonjour, nous sommes une famille avec 3 enfants et nous passerons cet été en juillet, 15 jours en location à Passoscuro (près de Rome). Quelqu'un parmi vous connaitrait-il cet endroit ?

D'autre part j'aimerais constituer une sorte de "planning" afin de préparer quelques visites - à Rome biensur mais aussi profiter d'autres villes. Si vous aviez quelques idées de villes à visiter dans un ordre "logique" je serais très reconnaissante. Sinon je pense aussi acheter un guide du routard pour y trouver quelques adresses. Bonjour Nous souhaitions passer 4 jours en Sicile (w-e de mai + RTT), c'est court mais mieux que rien ! J'hesite entre un vol pour Palerme ou Catane ? Je pensais passer 1-2 jours en ville + petites excursions en bus dans coin moins peuplé. Mon ami voulait voir Syracuse (quelques ancetres la-bas et le nom fait rever mais est-ce que ca vaut vraiment la peine?) Avez-vous quelques conseils d'itinéraires? Merci !

Bonjour. Effectuant un séjour en sardaigne fin avril, je suis à la recherche de chambres d'hôte ou de gites d'étape (sympa et pas trop cher....si possible!!) afin de pouvoir faire le tour de l'île. Je trouve beaucoup de gites ou de loccations d'apparts pour la semaine mais trés peu de loccations pour 1, 2 jours. Si quelqu'un à des adresses je suis preneur!! Merci

Je prends aussi toutes les infos concernant la sardaigne (endroits à visiter ou à éviter!, visites à faire, restos à ne pas manquer....).

I'm starting a new travel journal in Italy. It's about a month-long trip (from September 3, 2025, to October 4, 2025), or rather a part of it. This section matches the title: an opera festival in Verona (one evening) and the Dolomites in the Veneto region. I'm posting the part of the trip I think will interest French-speaking readers the most (since this is where I saw the most French travelers). Here’s a quick summary: - Trip in September 2025 - Solo travel with camping (caravan) - Small geographic area: besides Verona, the surroundings of the Marmolada massif and Cortina d'Ampezzo. - Main but not exclusive activity: hiking.

I arrived in Veneto under the sun and with warm weather. I drove to Verona and tried to find a spot at the campsite (Verona Village) located south of the city. Unfortunately, it was full. Booking on the website was mandatory, but when I tried to reserve a few days ago, the site never moved from the "reservation" step to the "payment" step (I don’t know why—it’s always like that in these cases). I found another solution over the phone; the drive from southern Verona to the northeast was a bit long, but I finally settled at the "Oro Verde" campsite. It’s an "agricampeggio" (farm camping or rural campsite) on the outskirts of the city, and its name (green gold) suggests they produce olives there. Since it wasn’t late, I biked to the Adige River, following the recommended route into the city.

I’m planning a road trip to Morocco in about a month. I’ve read quite a few discussions, posts, comments, and travel journals that have helped me prepare, but I still need your valuable input. The north seems easier to plan. It’s the south that’s got me wondering.

The plan: - 20 days in the south solo, going off the beaten path (looking for simplicity, encounters, discovery, and breathtaking views) - 10 days in the north with my wife and her 8-year-old daughter (so more coastal, some sightseeing—more "classic") When: August (I know it’s not the best time, but no choice) Duration: 20 days in the south + 10 days in the north (might seem short) Distance: 3,000 km in the south over 20 days. Rental vehicle to be decided (4x4?) (I’ve done a Portugal road trip from Lille—5,000 km in 3 weeks—and Italy several times, usually around 4,000–5,000 km in 3 weeks).

Route (I need to plot this on a map like Maps.me or Google...): Start in Marrakech -> Tinmelt -> Icht -> M’hamid El Ghizlane -> Agdz -> Khamlia -> Errachidia -> Tinghir -> Imilchil -> Boulmane Dadès -> Ouarzazate -> Telouet -> Demnate -> Arousse -> Ahansal Gorges -> Tilouguite -> Bin El Ouidane -> Oued El Abid Gorges -> Ouzoud Waterfalls -> Marrakech

On paper, this all seems "doable"... I’ve never been to Morocco before. It’s my first time. I’ve heard that Morocco is best experienced "slowly and peacefully," taking your time. I’d love to hear your thoughts on these points—that’s the whole point!

I’ve got a few questions and could really use your help with your on-the-ground knowledge and experiences: Is this really doable? Are the roads on this route passable? Any tips? Thanks so much for your help and for any time you can spare.

Who among you has explored northern Italy along the Mediterranean, in Liguria? I’m dreaming of cycling there from Nice, crossing through villages like Menton, Ventimiglia, Dolceacqua, Apricale, Monte Ceppo, Triora, Ponte di Nava, Ormea, Garessio, Ceva, Mondovì, and Cuneo.

Beyond that, it’s the route toward Queyras in France via the Col dell’Agnello, on the slopes of Monte Viso.

A few questions for those who know the area: Is it interesting by bike? Is the road surface decent? Is car traffic low, or at least manageable?

We had this plan back in 2009 as part of a Nice-Rome crossing, but we ended up doing it differently. I might get to revisit it this summer (solo this time, not on a tandem like we usually do).

I’ve been to Corsica once (Bonifacio) and Italy once (Tuscany), and I have great memories of both. I’d love to go back to one of these places, but this time on a road trip (with my car).

I enjoy walking (nothing too intense like 8-hour hikes), wandering around nature or cities at random, local crafts and specialties, a little beach time, lots of food and culinary discoveries, meeting people, music, and dancing (Latin).

This is the first time I’m posting here to find a travel buddy—up until now, I’ve mostly traveled solo or met up with friends already on location. It could be a great way to share the experience. I’m open to some planning to outline the itinerary, but also leaving room to adjust based on what feels good in the moment or any opportunities that come up. So, I’m thinking of booking accommodations last-minute sometimes—Airbnb, guesthouses, hotels, camping, etc.

Everything’s on the table, and I’d love to chat about it.

So happy the forum reopened last October!!! I’ve started reading again (posts, travel journals) and chiming in on a few discussions. Now I’m stepping it up by writing a new travel journal—I’ve already posted a few between 2018 and 2020.

My latest trip was to Italy from August 27 to September 26, 2024. As the title says, it was a wander through Tuscany in parts of the region that aren’t the most visited. No Firenze-Siena-Pisa trilogy, no San Gimignano; there’ll be a quick detour into Siena, but I’ll skip the best-known sights. That choice, plus traveling in September, should help dodge overtourism. It worked out—crowds were light, sometimes very light, the whole way. Here’s the practical rundown: - a long trip outside peak season (ah, retirees!) - solo camping (caravan) - a mix of activities (hiking, mountain biking, sightseeing) in places that aren’t always packed with tourists. Still, I don’t feel like I ended up in some hidden-away spots. Not sure if this will draw any readers.

DAY 1: Tuesday, August 27, 2024 The heat was intense on the drive in across the plain; two big storms—more rain and hail than lightning and thunder—threw the weather off, the first near Imola, the second on the four-lane road up the Savio valley. I left the Cesena-Roma four-lane at the Verghereto exit and climbed up to Balze (1,100 meters). The campsite is even higher (1,200 meters), in the forest near the source of the Tevere (Tiber). Staying up here will cut down on driving for the first part of the trip: a route through the Appennino (Apennines) on the border between Toscana and Emilia-Romagna. The temperature was surprisingly mild for the altitude, the air thick with moisture by late afternoon. I drove back down from the campsite to Balze (2 km on the road) to grab groceries (it’s doable) and scout tomorrow’s hike. .

The endpoint of the planned hike is just a few meters from this sign (the trail crosses this road about 3 km from Balze). I realized Balze and the source of the Tevere (Tiber) are actually in Emilia-Romagna, not Toscana. I always thought the Tevere (Tiber), which flows toward Roma (Tyrrhenian side), started in Toscana! I’ll come back to this quirk in Day 3’s write-up.

Voici mon carnet de voyage lors de cet été un peu spécial. Je limite volontairement sur vf à une ou deux photos par jour (certains trouveront que c'est encore trop...) C'est parti 🙂

Les billets étaient pris depuis novembre. Très incertain depuis ce printemps marqué par l'épidémie, ce voyage en Grèce est une bouffée d'air (chaud) après cette période de confinement et d'immobilisme. Nous reprenons donc la route en camion, vers la Grèce continentale. Routes montagneuses, sites antiques, eaux cristallines et ports de pêche, voici en quelques mots les contours d'un voyage riche en couleurs et en saveurs... Les cigales ? Elles ne s'arrêtent qu'à la nuit tombée...

La cathédrale de Nantes est en feu, le périphérique est bloqué. Challans, Niort, Montluçon, nous prenons la poudre d'escampette en dehors des sentiers battus afin d'éviter le coût exorbitant des péages français. Petit parking très au calme à Rocles quelque part dans l'Allier entre La Prugnole et Blanchetière. Pour celles et ceux qui ne visualisent pas, nous sommes à une trentaine de kilomètres au sud-ouest de Moulins. Les enfants ramassent des bâtons qu'ils jettent dans le lac tandis que mes talents de bricoleur se confirment: le mitigeur nouvellement installé inonde le camion.

Malgré cette période délicate pour voyager, nous partons vers les Dolomites. Nous avons réservé un studio à Perlado. Nous aimerions avoir quelques conseils pour circuler, apparemment, les parkings sont rares dans cette ville...La circulation compliquée...Peut-être circuler à vélo est plus facile? Faire le tour du lac à vélo? Quels circuits conseiller à un très bon cycliste, habitué aux reliefs montagneux? Les promenades en bateau, sur les lacs, semblent sympathiques...Les villas à visiter aussi...Et les îles Boromée...Si vous connaissez un peu les lieux, je suis preneuse de conseils... Y a t-il beaucoup de monde, là bas, malgré le corona virus? Nous partons lundi 17 aôut...C'est proche!

bonjour suite a une fin de croisière réservée en janvier 2020 modifier par msc en avril 2021 ( Génova au lieux du Havre) je vient au renseignement est ce que quel qu un parmi vous sait me dire combien de temps dure le transfert en Génova et Nice et a quel heure on arrive a Nice ( suis pas a 1 h pret ) c est pour la réservation soit du train ou avion pour 1 trajet Nice liège merci d avance Francis on peut rêvé

bonjour, si les conditions le permettent, nous partons en croisière en Méditerranée en Octobre . nous faisons escale à Civitavecchia et donc nous voudrions visiter Rome . Nous allons prendre le bus Costa jusqu'au centre de Rome et nous voudrions visiter la ville et les principaux monuments A PIEDS , principalement le Colisée (extérieurement) , la fontaine de Trévi et la Basilique St Pierre. Avez vous déjà fait ce circuit et est-ce possible dans la journée sachant qu'en général nous arrivons à Rome vers 10 h et repartons vers 17 heures. merci pour votre aide
