je souhaite partir en février découvrir quelques parcs nationaux de l'ouest américain (yosemite, sequoia, Bryce canyon, yellowstone, ..). Aprés consultation du site web du guide du routard, il préconise de s'assurer que les parcs soient ouvert en hiver (fermeture possible à cette époque). Est ce vrai ou pas?

Je prévois un voyage dont l'itinéraire est le suivant : Las Vegas --> Grand Canyon --> Page --> Monument valley --> Moab --> Capitol Reef --> Bryce --> Zion --> Death valley --> San Francisco

Et ma question du jour est la suivante : Parvient-on à se nourrir correctement lorsqu'on est végétarien ? Je me doute que dans les grandes villes (Las vegas et ses fameux buffets 🙂, San Francisco, ...) cela ne pose pas de problème mais qu'en est-il exactement dans les villes plus petites qui servent d'étapes à la visite des parcs (Mexican Hat, Moab, Page, torrey, etc...) ? Peut-on trouver dans les restos une assiettes de légume, une omelette, etc... ?😕

Je compte visiter les parcs nationaux de l'Utah la première quinzaine d'avril 2007, notamment Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlanfs, Capitol reef et le lake Powell. Y-a t'il des différences climatiques entre les parcs à cette saison? Certains parcs sont-ils moins intéressants que d'autres du fait de conditions météo défavorables (neige, froid, pluie..), ou au contraire certains parcs sont-ils plus agréable à visiter à cette époque (végétation, douceur)? Merci de me faire part de vos expériences pour que je puisse adapter mon voyage en fonction.

Bien l'bonjour tout le monde! Bon bon bon, rien de bien original dans ce message... Je m'appelle Brice, j'ai 20 ans, j'habite près de Lyon et j'arrive au bout d'un BTS informatique d'ici peu. J'ai toujours rêvé de l'Irlande, et n'attendant pas grand chose d'ici, je me tate: pourquoi ne pas tenter "l'aventure", partir vivre là-bas? J'ai déjà parcouru pas mal de sujets sur ce forum, mais j'ai quand même des questions... surtout à ceux qui parlent d'experience! Niveau boulot/ logement. Bon, je connais personne là-bas, il va donc falloir improviser. Est-ce que c'est simple de trouver du travail sans logement? Est ce que c'est simple de trouver un logement sans travail? En gros, par quoi on commence? Faute de logement, comment ça se passe niveau camping? Quelle est la ville la plus susceptible de fournir tout ça? Y'a t'il de meilleurs périodes pour "commencer"? Mon anglais n'est que scolaire pour le moment. A l'echelle du scolaire j'ai un bon niveau, mais j'ai pas vraiment de pratique, ça pose des problèmes pour les boulots du style barman, serveur..?

Hmm.. j'ai sans doutes plein d'autres questions qui vont me venir, mais on verra ça plus tard. Merci d'avance!

J'habite dans une région légèrement en altitude et j'ai toujours un problème du aux U.V. et à la brume presque quotidienne lorsque je veux prendre par exemple la phto d'un paysage. J'ai bien entendu essayé un filtre anti U.V., mais celui ne change pas grand chose. Faut il mettre un filtre avec une éfficacité supèrieure et cela sera t'il réellement efficace ? ou existe t'il une autre solution ?

Je voulais savoir quelles sont les différences entre les canyons de l'Ouest Américain (Grand Canyin, Brice, Zion) et le Canyon de Colca...

Plusieurs personnes semblent avoir beaucoup aimé ; ma cousine m'a dit que c'était très passable à côté de ce que j'ai vu aux states, et que je risque d'être décue.

Est ce qu'il vaut mieux passer ces 2-3 jours au parc de Huaraz? si oui, tant qu'à être dans le coin, aussi bien aller dans la cordilliere blanche... mais je veux voyager léger, donc surement qu'il faut beaoucp d'équipement pour y allerOu encore au trek de Choquequirao? C'est dur? Combien de temps par jour il faut marcher? Est ce qu'il faut réserver autant d'avance que Manchu Picchu?Merci!!

De retour à LV nous aurons une petite journée pendant laquelle nous pourrons faire une petite excursion : que nous conseillez-vous ?

Most organized trips only visit a few parks at a rushed pace with round-trip flights from France. Exploring the American West with others is more fun, and since I’ve already had a great experience traveling with companions, I’m doing it again.

The initial plan is to arrive in San Francisco, then head to Yosemite >> Death Valley >> Las Vegas >> Zion >> Bryce Canyon >> Moab >> Mesa Verde >> Monument Valley >> Page >> Grand Canyon and finish in Los Angeles (of course, this can be done in reverse depending on international flights).

Renting a car, keeping it cool and in good spirits. For accommodations, we’re open to youth hostels, motels, hotels, etc. (no preference).

A 3-week (or 4-week) road trip, doable between June 23 and September 22.

But everything can change based on everyone’s ideas and desires—as long as flights aren’t booked yet...

Hi there, We decided this week to use our miles for a trip to Phoenix. We're putting our itinerary together in a hurry, and it's not coming together at all. I'd really appreciate some help if possible, please.

Back in 2007, we did a classic trip: LA, Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce, Zion, Las Vegas, Yosemite, and San Francisco. This time, we only have two weeks and don’t want to rush from one place to another...

(*-sites not yet visited) Arriving in Phoenix tomorrow morning - Monday the 14th - and leaving for Paris on Monday the 29th. - 14/09: Phoenix* - 2 nights to recover from the trip > Heard Museum, Botanical Garden, Downtown... - 16th: Flagstaff* (Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot Nat. Monument along the way) - 17th-20th: 3 nights at Grand Canyon - Maswik And here’s where it starts getting really messy: - 21st, 22nd... Monument Valley - 23rd... Canyon de Chelly* - 24th, 25th: Petrified Forest, Painted Desert* - 26th-27th: Sedona* - lots of hiking options - 28th: Evening in Phoenix, flight at 3 PM

If Monument Valley isn’t very doable this week because of rain, maybe it’d be better to go somewhere else, like straight to Canyon de Chelly, or even completely different—Zion (great hikes), Valley of Fire, Las Vegas, a night somewhere to break up the drive, Sedona, and then depart from Phoenix. Since this trip is last-minute, we’re a bit disorganized and would really appreciate any advice. Aside from Phoenix and the Grand Canyon, we haven’t booked any hotels yet, so it’s still flexible.

Okay, Palermo—we know it. We go there to marvel at the architectural wonders born from the Arab-Norman-Byzantine-Gothic mix. And rightly so. We also go to treat our taste buds to all kinds of delights, both savory and sweet. Again, rightly so. We go to succumb to the charms of Palermo’s women, their sun-kissed skin glowing with golden highlights. Still, rightly so. And all while fantasizing about a mafia we’ll never actually see. Anyway.

But you’ll also find street art everywhere, even in the historic center. Sometimes, you just need to step a few meters away from the main tourist highways like Cassaro, Via Maqueda, or the main arteries of the Ballarò, Capo, or Vucciria markets to stumble upon some amazing murals. Duck into one or two slightly grimy alleys, weaving past trash and crumbling walls, and you’ll find real gems.

For example, just 50 meters south of the main artery of the Mercato del Capo, there’s a great spot with dozens of murals in a tiny neighborhood of run-down mini-houses. You’ll find plenty more south of the Mercato di Ballarò, in the Albergheria (the grittier side, not the one near Cassaro). There’s some in Ballarò itself too, but it’s hard to spot when the market’s in full swing with stalls everywhere. La Kalsa isn’t left out either, nor is Vucciria—just step away from the restaurant-packed streets.

Here are a few examples that really caught my eye.

In June 2022, we covered 5,600 km. The major stops: San Francisco, Yosemite Park, Death Valley Park, Las Vegas, Zion Park, Bryce Canyon Park, Monument Valley Park, Grand Canyon Park, then the Pacific coast and back to San Francisco.

Avec mon conjoint nous allons faire un voyage aux UsA du 3 novembre au 4 décembre. Notre arrivé et départ se feront de San Francisco.

Nous pensions faire: - Yellowstone - grand Teton - arches - salt lake city - gran canyon - Brice canyon - Zion -monument valley - Las Vegas - Los Angeles - Antelope canyon / lac Powel - Sequoia NP

Nous pensions prendre un vol interne entre SF et Bozeman puis louer une voiture pour faire Yellowstone. Seulement voilà d'après ce que j'ai pu lire sur différents sites yellowstone en novembre c'est compliqué ! Ma question est de savoir est ce que cela reste possible ?

Nous pensions passé 4/5 jours sur Yellowstone puis 2 jours du côté de grand Teton puis vol interne entre Jackson et Salt Lake.

De salt lake redescendre jusqu'à Las Vegas en visitant les parcs.

Las Vegas pendant 2 jours puis Los Angeles en avion ou voiture passé 3 jours à Los Angeles puis vol vers San Francisco, visiter pendant 3/4 jours et vol vers Paris.

Qu'en pensez vous ? Est ce possible ? Au sein de Yellowstone comment s'organiser au mois de novembre ? J'ai vu qu'il y avait possibilité de faire de la moto neige, raquette ou ski de fond. Est ce que l'un d'entre vous l'a expérimenté ? Peut on quand même voir les geysers, old faithful, grand prismatic spring, Hayden Valley et tous les autres sites de Yellowstone ? Peut on traverser le parc pour rejoindre grand Teton ensuite ?

Bref désolé pour ce gros pavé mais j'ai du mal à trouver des infos et où retour de personne aya't fait Yellowstone et grand Teton en novembre... En gros nous serions sur yellowstone à partir du 5 novembre au matin.
