Should we go to Semuc Champey? (how many hours?), Night: ?? Day 7: Drive to Flores (how many hours?), Night: Flores Day 8: Yaxha (1.5-hour drive each way with a driver), Night: Flores Day 9: Day trip to Tikal, Night: Flores Day 10:: Flight from Flores to Guatemala City, then departure at 4:30 PM

About hiking a volcano, I’ve read mixed reviews. Some say it’s easy, others say it’s tough. Is there a kid-friendly hike where we could see lava from a volcano? Is it only visible at night? Do we *have* to sleep at the top and come down the next day? I’ve heard of people doing it with 2-year-olds by carrying them, and others using horses—but I guess the horses don’t go all the way up? Seeing a real volcano would be amazing! I think it’d be a memorable experience for the kids. It’d be so cool to say, "We did that as a family!" But maybe it’s way too hard and a bad idea...

I’m struggling to find reliable info on travel times: - How long is the drive from Antigua to Chichicastenango, please? I’ve read shuttles leave at 7 AM and arrive at the market by 8:30 AM, but I’ve also seen people say it’s a 4-hour trip 😕. Are the times on Google Maps reliable?

A blog mentioned visiting Chichicastenango’s market in the morning and Iximché in the afternoon. That seems like a lot of driving, especially after leaving Antigua in the morning. What should we do in the afternoon instead?

Days 6 and 7: The trip from Panajachel to Flores. Any advice on taking an overnight bus? Should we go during the day with a stop at Semuc Champey? Or fly and spend the extra day somewhere else?

Day 8: Is a full day at Yaxha too much?

Hello, I’m looking for cycling buddies to bike back from the Mount Ararat region (northeastern Turkey) to Cappadocia, passing through Lake Van. The rest of the route will be decided based on points of interest. We’ll spend several days exploring Cappadocia by bike—it’s huge! From early to late October. Expect some serious elevation gain in this part of the country. We’ll camp or stay in accommodations depending on what’s available. To secure that flight, we’re planning to spend our last two full days (actually 3 nights) in Bali. We’ve already visited Bali twice—first time 30 years ago and the second time 12 years ago—and we don’t want to revisit the must-see spots (and definitely not Ubud; I had a bit of a shock there 12 years ago). At this point, I was thinking of spending 1 night on Stromboli (and doing the ascent) and 1 night on Lipari, Salina, or Panarea.

I’d love to find those same safari conditions again (immersion in simple conditions within the Serengeti, notably), but I’m struggling to find that kind of offer (lodges, tent camps, etc.). A trip I’d started planning just 6 years ago, in February 2019, for my post-internship exam vacation. After returning to South Africa in July 2019 with my family, this trip, planned for September 2019, would be all about discovery and a few firsts: first trip with friends, first trek, first time in East Africa. As I mentioned in my first travel journal about our South Africa trip, I’ve had a special connection to Tanzania for a long time. Growing up in the Indian Ocean without ever visiting Africa, those wildlife documentaries on TV when I skipped my pharmacy classes... I imagined and dreamed about this land and country so much.

The original plan was to go just the two of us with Alison, but somehow—though I don’t quite remember how—we ended up organizing the trip with our friends Mélissa and Doriane, who joined us in Arusha after our Kilimanjaro trek for the last two weeks and their very first safari. After that, we were thinking of heading back to Cebu Island via public transport or taxi, crossing Panay and Negros, and then going to Moalboal, Bantayan, and Malapascua. Do you think it’s worth crossing Panay and Negros? We’ve heard there were floods on Negros, and Google Maps shows that the volcano on Negros is erupting, so I don’t think hiking it is an option. Bonjour, nous serons en Sicile fin juillet pour 10 jours avec notre véhicule. J'hésite entre deux parcours. Si certains souhaitent donner leur avis sur deux itinéraires différents, n'hésitez pas!

Itiniéraire 1 :Palerme, Sciacca, Mazara del vallo, Trapani, iles de l'ouest?, castellamarre del golfo - Zingaro, et nous finirions à Cefalu et les madonies.

Itinéraire 2 :Palerme, Sciacca, Agrigente, Scicli / Raguza, Noto/Syracuse, Etna vers Randazzo, Cefalu et les madonies.

Seules Palerme au début et Cefalu à la fin sont surs. L itinéraire 2 est surement trop long avec beaucoup de km, mais il permet d'aller sur l'etna où je voudrais faire l'ascension en vélo. L 'itinéraire 1 est plus tranquille.

Ne connaissant pas du tout la Sicile, je vous invite à me donner vos avis.

Description : Plutot "à la cool", aimons particulièrement flâner, manger, les marchés, prendre le temps de visiter les lieux authentiques, les ports de peche, se baigner de temps en temps. Nous préférons éviter les gros rassemblement touristiques, mais est ce possible. Merci!

Bonjour, Je prépare un voyage en Equateur de 6 semaines (voyage compris) en sept-oct 2020 pour mon mari et moi. Je n'ai pas pris encore mes billets vu la conjoncture actuelle mais mes dates devraient être du 6 sept au 17 octobre. J'envisage d'utiliser les bus locaux le plus possible avec éventuellement quelques taxis à la journée ou location de voiture ponctuelle. Pour l'instant mon programme serait le suivant mais j'ai besoin d'aide pour certains points, principalement pour les transports : 3 jours à Quito, 3 jours à Otavalo avec le marché du samedi + Cotacachi et le lago Cuicocha + les lagunas de Mojanda et ascension de Fuya Fuya 2 jours pour Mindo 2 jours pour le PN Cotopaxi Là pour Otavalo/Mindo et Mindo / Cotopaxi (en fait Chasqui à l’entrée Sud) je me pose la question de la faisabilité en bus. Je sais que c’est possible mais qu’il y aura des changements (on a des valises, pas grandes mais...). Alors est-ce facile ? Combien de temps ? Je ne voudrais pas mettre la journée… 3 jours pour la boucle de Quilotoa, Trek de 2 jours seulement je pense (sans la 1ère étape qui part de Sighos) de Isinlivi à Chugchilan puis Chugchilan à Quilotoa puis 1/2J à Quilotoa avant de prendre le bus pour Banos On aimerait éviter de passer une nuit à Latacunga, juste y passer pour laisser puis reprendre les bagages. Y a-t-il des hôtels à qui on peut les laisser en toute confiance, qui acceptent ? Autre question, on m’a dit - Léon pour ne pas le nommer que je remercie chaleureusement pour son aide – que les bus Latacunga / Isinlivi partaient très tôt, à 3 et 5h du matin ! J’avoue que cela ne me tente pas trop. N’Y a-t-il pas d’autres bus ? Ou en taxi est-ce possible ? A combien cela reviendrait-il ? 2 ou 3 jours à Banos 2 jours à Riobamba. J’aurais aiméprendre le Treno del Hielo mais j’ai du mal à le caler sur un samedi ou un dimanche. Du coup je me rabattrai peut-être sur le train La Nariz del Diablo à partir d’Alausi qui serait encore plus touristique. Avez-vous pris l’un ou l’autre? Et qu’en pensez-vous ? Avec un jour pour le Chimborazo : aller >> refuge Whymper + descente en VTT. Cela vaut-il le coup et le coût (combien?) et est-ce difficile ?Nous sommes sportifs mais avons quand même 67 et 73 ans Sur la route de Riobamba ou d’Alausi à Cuenca, on voudrait faire un arrêt à Ingapirca le temps de la visite du site. Peut-on laisser les bagages à l’entrée du site et y-a-t-il des bus fréquemment qui font Ingapirca/Cuenca ? 3 jours à Cuenca Route pour Guayaquil. Donc seulement 1/J dans la ville est-ce suffisant ? Galapagos 10 jours pour les 3 îles Puis retour à Guayaquil + bus pour Puerto Lopez. 2 jours dont 1J pour le Parc Machalilla. Retour Quito en bus de nuit ? Départ et arrivée à quelle heure ? Y a-t-il une consigne à l’aéroport ou à la gare routière ou mieux encore quelque part à mi-chemin pour éviter trop de transfert ? Car notre avion n’est qu’à 20h. On aurait donc une journée pour se balader encore dans Quito. J'ai volontairement laissé de côté l'Amazonie car on y a fait un séjour lors d'un voyage précédent au Pérou et on revient d'un voyage en Malaisie. Voilà. Qu’ai-je oublié ? Je suis en train d'organiser un voyage d'un mois au sud du Pérou, en Bolivie et au nord du Chili en juillet et en août. Je compte me déplacer quasi-exclusivement en bus. Je vais finir mon trajet en Bolivie par le Sud Lipez (en partant de Tupiza, et en arrivant à Uyuni), et j'aimerais me rendre de Uyuni à San Pedro de Atacama au Chili. J'ai trouvé des bus sur internet mais très peu d'informations dessus (tarifs, meilleur compagnie), savez-vous comment se passe le passage de la frontière ? De plus, je dois ensuite me rendre à Antofagasta, mais je ne trouve aucune information sur internet puisque que les sites que j'ai trouvé permettent de réserver les bus à peine 3 semaines à l'avance. Savez-vous si il y a des compagnies locales qui font ce trajet ?

Pensez-vous qu'il est plus simple de faire un tour du Salar depuis Tupiza jusqu'à San Pedro directement ? Sachant que je souhaite faire l’ascension d'un volcan, est-ce que ce n'est pas un trajet moins commun (donc plus cher) ?

Pour commencer, désolé pour ce pavé, et je remercie par avance les participants qui voudront bien nous aider à rendre ce voyage encore meilleur !

Donc je me rend avec ma femme, mes 2 enfants (8 ans et 5 ans) et mon frère au Panama. Nous atterrissons le 18 février à 17H (pas de bagages, uniquement des « sacs à dos") et nous repartons pour Paris le 25 à 20H.

J’ai parcouru le forum et nous allons donc éviter :

l’ascension du volcan (avec les enfants et l’aller retour cela sera compliqué) la province de Darien la province de Colon

C’est aussi après la consultation de ce forum que j’ai compris que nous allons être en pleine période de Carnaval (nous allons donc en profiter…). Le samedi sera surement la plus grosse journée, car elle sera 4 jours avant mardi gras ?

Nous allons donc rester 7 jours complets et j’aimerais si possible des conseils pour profiter au mieux de ces jours…

- Mardi 18 février : arrivés à Panama, hôtel sur place ? Louer un véhicule/prendre un bus et partir directement vers l’ouest ? - Mercredi 19 : Visite de Panama ou du coté de Bocas ? - Jeudi 20 : - Vendredi 21 : - Samedi 22 : Carnaval ? (si festivité les autres jours, consacrer le samedi dimanche à Boquete par ex) - Dimanche 23 : - Lundi 24 : Retour Panama City visite ? ou retour le lendemain selon planning. - Mardi 25 : Suite de la visite ? Puis départ aéroport fin de journée

Je numérote si cela peut aider pour le choix...

1/ Nous ne voulons pas faire 5 jours de farniente alors pour les plages, que choisir… Isla de Colon, Veraguas, San Blas, la Baie de Panama, Punta Chame, le Golf de San Miguel, Isla Taboga, Isla Contadora, le Golf de Chiriqui et Punta Barco ?

2/ Pour se loger à Panama City, j’ai relevé quartier Cangrejo ou Casco Viejo ?

3/ Pour le Carnaval, Panama City, Las Tablas, San Blas, Los Santos ?

4/ Golfe de Chiriqui ? Région de David ? Visite aux indiens Embera ? Boquete ? Mono Feliz à Punta Burrica ?

Pour le carnaval, les plages ou les lieux à visiter, je prends conseils auprès de vous car vous connaissez mieux les distances et les aléas (surtout en période festive…) du pays

Boquete à l’air bon si on veut passer un peu de temps dans la nature (ma femme et les enfants en sont friands…) Pour les logements nous ne seront pas très regardant.. Tant qu’il y’ un lit, et que c’est sécuritaire pour les enfants.. Nous sommes 5 et la période est prisé alors on va réserver quelques nuits (on avait décidé de voir sur place mais le carnaval change les plans)

-est-il possible de se rendre à la Station 5( 5th Station 2305 m d'altitude) avec sa propre voiture ?

Ou bien est-on obligé de prendre les transports en commun ?

Je pars seul effectuer la traversée de l'île via le GR R2 fin mai, en sens inverse (sud-nord). Ceci pour des raisons pratiques, étant donné que je me pose à 5h30 le jour d'arrivée, ce qui me laisse le temps de descendre au départ dans le sud (bus), et de démarrer gentiment par une courte étape histoire de récupérer. J'ai un niveau physique plutôt correct et je suis habitué à la rando (sans toutefois avoir fait plusieurs jours consécutifs de cet acabit). La question que je me pose, et je m'en remets pour cela à vos connaissances, c'est sur la viabilité de mon roadbook. Vous semble-t-il cohérent (j'ai mis les durées indiquées sur le topo guide)? J1 : basse vallée > gite de basse vallée (2h30) J2 : gite de basse vallée > volcan (7h30) J3 : Volcan > bourg murat (5h) J4 : Bourg murat > caverne dufour (6h) J5 : Caverne dufour > cilaos (+ascension du piton des neiges) (6h30) J6 : Cilaos > la nouvelle (via GR R2 ou variante en fonction de l'état de forme) (8h30) J7 : la nouvelle > ilet des lataniers (6h) J8 : ilet des lataniers > aurère (6h) J9 : aurère > gite roche écrite ou avant en fonction de l'état de forme (bivouac) (10h) J10 : gite roche écrite > st denis (5h)

J'ai surtout un doute pour la journée 9... Ca fait effectivement une énorme journée, qu'éventuellement je pourrai raccourcir en bivouaquant en cours de route. Pour le reste ça vous semble relativement cohérent?

Pour le matériel, je pars avec de quoi éventuellement bivouaquer (tente trek légère et qq provisions), mais je dormirai principalement en gite (j'ai réservé le volcan et la caverne dufour) et m'y restaurerai.

Nous désirons faire un safari de 7 jours en Tanzanie (2 personnes) , en 4/4 et à pieds. Je dois vous avouer que je suis un peu perdu en ce qui concerne la visite du Machu Picchu. Voici mes questions, si vous pouvez m'aider!

- Montagne Wayna Picchu ou Montagne Machu Picchu ? - Si j'ai bien compris, on a un horaire d'entrée pour le Machu Picchu à 6h puis 7H pour la montagne et on doit rester sur le site au total 4h, est-ce que c'est exact ? est-ce que c'est faisable de faire Machu picchu + une montagne en 4H ? - Par quoi est-il plus judicieux de commencer ? Machu Picchu ou directement l'ascension de la montagne ?

Bonjour Je pars au Guatemala et au Bélize pendant 25 jours au mois de janvier j'aurais besoin de quelque conseils et infos : _ j'arrive et je pars de Guatemala City auriez-vous un itinéraire à me conseiller en incluant 4,5 jours au Bélize _ auriez-vous des adresses pour loger chez l'habitant car je n'ai pas trouvé grand-chose sur internet ? À défaut des adresses pas trop cher _ je souhaiterais faire la l'ascension de l'acatenango mais j'ai lu ici et là que c'était assez difficile j'ai 43 ans et une condition plutôt moyenne auriez-vous des retours ?, j'aimerais aussi savoir s'il est possible de louer le matériel pour l'ascension car je souhaite voyager léger et en sac à dos _ au Bélize j'aimerais faire du snorkeling et un peu de plongée sachant que je n'ai aucun permis _ auriez-vous des conseils pour Flores et Tikal pour ne pas tomber dans les attrapes touristes ?
