Salut à tous, je pars le 01/10 de Paris pour Bangkok, je pense faire un saut dans une des nombreuses guesthouses du quartier Khao san road qui à l'air bien animé. Est ce toujours le quartier des routards et autre travelers ? Après je pense bouger soit à L'est du pays (Koh chang, Koh samet) ou au Nord (chiang mai et env je sais pas encore) 😏

Bonjour! Je m'envole vers San Andres le 29 février avec des amis et je voudrais avoir plus d'infos sur l'hôtel San Luis. J'ai lu plusieurs messages à ce sujet, mais je me pose des questions sur le propreté (bébittes, bouffe), l'animation, la plage, l'ambiance (je crois que ça va être le party puisque c'est la semaine de relâche et les universités vont là), mais comment fonctionne le système de 5 hôtels est-ce que c'est séruritaire pour des filles sur l'île, la plage (vol) ect... Bref, si vous avez des trucs, , se serait très apprécié. Merci🙂

je projette de partir vers le 15 janvier pour un voyage de 3 ou 4 mois voir plus. Je compte arriver a Mexico et repartir de San Jose.

Est ce que 3 ou 4 mois me seront suffisant tout en prenant bien mon temps ?

Here’s what we’re planning: A hike to Fontainhas—what’s the best direction, considering we’re not great with climbs? No problem with flat terrain or descents. Take an aluguer to Ribeira Grande and continue along the coastal road.

With the agency: An excursion to Cruzinha with a short walk. Return to Porto Novo via the path from Cova to… I’m not sure where yet, to pick up the car for Porto Novo, since we’ll be taking the ferry that evening. We’ll have a guide for this hike.

We’d love to spend a day in Tarrafal, but getting back requires a boat or taxi, and it’s really expensive!

Hi everyone, here’s a little trip report from San José del Guaviare, in the Guaviare department of Colombia.

First, the journey: an overnight bus from Bogotá. The bus terminal is a 20-minute taxi ride from the airport (30,000 COP). The bus company that goes down to San José is Flota Macarena, located in sector 2 of the terminal. The bus terminal is big, with plenty of places to eat and lots of little shops. The bus seats are pretty small but manageable—comfortable enough. We left at 10:30 PM and arrived around 7:00 AM the next morning.

First thing to note: the center of San José, right by the river, is really dirty, noisy, and not very pleasant. We stayed at Hotel Malecon, by the river, where the Malecon promenade is supposed to be the nice spot to walk along the river. Well, no—it’s completely abandoned, with trash everywhere. The hotel itself is in what we nicknamed the "scrap metal district," since that’s pretty much all you see—scrap yards and garages. Not exactly pleasant and kind of sketchy at first glance. A room with AC and a balcony at Hotel Malecon costs 120,000 COP per night. For one night, it was fine since we hadn’t booked anything in advance. After that, we moved to an Airbnb in the neighborhood with the soccer stadium—a really nice and quiet area. The little tip here is that there’s a pool behind the stadium—8,000 COP to swim, and there’s a bar right across the street. Honestly, it’s great to have a place to cool off because it was *really* hot in San José.

Now, let’s talk about the main attraction here: the natural sites. We visited Puerta de Orión (free entry, but the guide—mandatory—costs 10,000 COP per person), the natural pools (15,000 COP entry), Balneario La Lindosa (5,000 COP to swim), and Las Delicias waterfall (10,000 COP)—that last one was our favorite. The sites are really cool, and I’d definitely recommend visiting them. It’s pure nature out there.

For accommodations, a lot of places are located outside San José, near the tourist sites. At first, we wanted to stay out there, but without a car, it’s a real hassle. So if you’re not driving, stick to San José.

Getting to all these sites by taxi costs around 30,000 COP one way, except for Las Delicias waterfall, which is farther away—70,000 COP one way. Taxis within the urban area of San José cost 6,000 COP. The bus from San José to Villavicencio with Flota Macarena costs 78,000 COP and takes between 5 and 6 hours.

To wrap up, our 5 days in San José were really great. We were pleasantly surprised by how friendly the people there are—it really stands out.

So if you’re looking for a spot that’s still off the mass-tourism radar, come here! It’s nice, and there are plenty of other sites we didn’t get to see.

I’d like to visit Chiapas this summer with my husband and my son (young adult). After a few days in San Cristobal and the surrounding area, we want to take a bus to Palenque. I’ve heard conflicting things about the danger of being stopped on the road by revolutionaries. We’re planning to take a daytime bus. Is the most direct route safe, or is it wiser to take the long detour via Villahermosa? If you’ve made this trip recently, could you share your thoughts? Thanks

A little recap of my 28-day solo trip from mid-November to mid-December 2024. CDG to Santiago with Air France, first night near the airport at City Express by Marriott Airport. No shuttle as planned, but I expected it, so on the advice of a kind Chilean, I took Trans Vip at the airport counter. It was great—I’ll download the app—easy, cheap, and on time. The hotel arranged the return trip to the airport the next morning for my flight to Easter Island. I booked my flight with Latam via Booking, as well as my accommodation: Hare o Koro (formerly Vai Kapua, French spoken). Warm welcome with a flower lei and a quick city tour with Marieta and her husband. The place was clean, well-located, and included breakfast. All the tours were done with the family for a very reasonable price (personalized service with fun anecdotes!!). They even gave me souvenirs for the trip back—a great place to recommend! 🙂.

Back to Santiago for a night at Quinta by Wyndham. Again, no shuttle, the room was very comfortable, but no hot water or breakfast due to an early departure. The airport shuttle was fine, but I won’t stay here again. Off to Ushuaia with Aerolíneas Argentinas—I booked the flight directly on their site with a longer layover due to a plane change (tip from a fellow traveler). Took a taxi to Isla Bella, which included lunch. The place was clean, heated, and a nice surprise—Monica speaks French! It’s 15 minutes from the center, but the way back is a steep climb. I booked 3 excursions with the agency Brasileiros em—great experience! Next door, there’s a clothing store where I rented waterproof shoes for the Laguna Esmeralda trek, and I’m glad I did!! After 4 nights, back to Santiago for 1 night at Happy Hostel (breakfast included).

For the experience, I took the Bus Ciktur to Calama—a 22h30 semi-cama ride with a toilet, movies, and TV in the evening, then a 1h30 bus to San Pedro de Atacama. Stayed at Hotel Sonchek, well-located, no breakfast but a shared kitchen with coffee and tea available. Moïssa speaks French and recommended the agency Gato Andino for my excursions—great choice! I ended with the Geysers del Tatio without taking altitude meds, just coca leaf tea! Spent 4 nights there, then back to Santiago with Sky Airlines. Returned to Happy Hostel since it’s well-located in the historic center.

Took the Turistik bus for 2 days (48 €), including the teleferico for Cerro San Cristóbal (the funicular wasn’t working). Valparaíso and Viña del Mar with the same agency—Valparaíso is stunning, but the guide wasn’t great. SKY COSTANERA had an impressive view (18 €). Near the hotel in the Brazil neighborhood, you can eat local and cheap at Foxtim Burger.

All in all, great encounters—the Chileans are friendly and helpful!!!!

Day 14: Drive to Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park (3 nights near Crescent City). Days 15–16: Redwood National Park (Fern Canyon / Avenue of the Giants, etc.). Day 17: Drive along the coast via Eureka / Fort Bragg (1 night in Willits). Day 18: Drive to San Francisco via Napa Valley (5 nights in SF). Days 19–22: San Francisco. Day 23: Departure.

pour ma part, ayant déjà trippé dans la région, je m ajoute quelques coins non visités comme antelope island à SLC, , cathedral gorge, cedar breaks, extraterrestreal road notamment

N'étant pas fans de montagne, on voit le mont blanc de lyon, ni de longues marches, j ai supprimé: - grand téton où suis déjà passé voir mes cousins

pour moi cela dépendra surtout d'un phénomène bien particulier : la possibilité de réserver sur yellowstone sachant, si j ai bien compris, que ceux qui ont du annuler cette année seront prioritaires pour 2021

Et le reste : Qu'y a-t-il d'intéressant à l'intérieur des terres, niveau faune et flore ou patrimoine ou couleur locale ?

Et pour se déplacer : quel est le plus pratique ? Location de vélos, de scooters, de voitures ? Les transports en commun sont-ils fiables et bien développés ?

Je suis actuellement au Mexique, précisement a Bacalar ou le temps coule lentement! Demain je pars en direction de Palenque (8h30 de bus je crois) Ensuite j'enchaine avec San Cristobal (pareil 9h) De là je souhaite me rendre a Campeche pour le carnaval même si ce n'est surement pas la que la fête bat le plus son plein, mais c'est sur ma route!

Je viens de voir que de san cristobal il faut 14h de bus pour rejoindre Campeche.

Auriez vous des idées pour couper le trajet en 2, faire une pause dodo et profiter tout de même d'une soirée meme si elle est calme?

Je précise que je fais tout en bus mais vu la distance si un avion passe je saute dedans!!

Bonjour, Un détour via Julian vaut-il la peine. Si oui quelle serait la meilleure route (paysages), compte tenu que nous serons à la mi février et en voiture ordinaire non SUV. San Diego route 79, route 78 et route S2 ou via route 111, dormir à Yuma. Le lendemain nous partirions de Yuma vers Tucson.

Ou bien route directe I8 San Diego jusqu'à Tucson.

Ou bien route I8 jusqu'à Gila Bend, visite rapide le lendemain d'Organ Pipe et route Tucson, mais grand détour pour voir Organ Pipe sans SUV. Sécurité dans ce secteur accolé à la frontière.

Après la visite de Tucson nous nous dirigerons vers White Sands, dans le cadre d'une boucle de trois semaines. Autres questions à venir.

Après avoir lu de nombreux carnets de voyage et suivi des discussions dans le forum, je partage avec vous aujourd'hui mon projet d'itinéraire pour une boucle classique dans l'ouest avec mes 2 ados 🙂 J'ai en effet besoin de vos précieux conseils afin de rendre ce voyage inoubliable 😉

Nous aurons 3 semaines pour faire de magnifiques découvertes et en prendre plein les yeux !! Pour le parcours, je serai avec deux ados donc, pas de randonnées mais quelques trails pour les points de vue et un certain temps consacré aux parcs d'attractions sur Los Angeles. Sans oublier que ce sont les vacances et je voudrais éviter un rythme effréné.

Voilà où j'en suis : billets d'avion achetés --> Bruxelles - San Francisco / Los Angeles - Bruxelles 23 jours plus tard. Bref, tout est à construire ... je sais que je ne dois plus tarder pour la réservation des hôtels dans les parcs (j'espère d'ailleurs qu'il n'est pas trop tard ?).

Qu'en pensez-vous ?

Après San Francisco, j'envisage Monterey afin d'avoir un aperçu de la Côte Pacifique🙂 Je suis un peu perdue pour le trajet entre Mariposa Grove et Mammoth Lakes : bonne idée ou c'est un détour ? Mariposa Grove > Furnace Creek me parait de trop longues distances. Et entre Mammoth Lakes et Furnace Creek : quels arrêts sur cette longue route ? A vrai dire, je ne sais pas comment faire au mieux entre Mariposa Grove et Las Vegas 😕

De même, la route entre Grand Canyon et Anaheim me pose question... Passage par Joshua Tree ? Autre itinéraire ??

Enfin, une question relative à la voiture à San Francisco : nécessaire ou pas ? Je sais que c'est souvent abordé mais je n'arrive pas à me décider. Pour avoir fait d'autres grandes villes américaines je sais que cela peut être très utile ou pas du tout ... On a fait bien évidemment New-York sans voiture puisque le réseau des métros est au top. De même, Washington et Philadelphie ne posent pas problème avec les transports en communs. Par contre, la voiture a été plus qu'utile à Miami et en Floride en général... Qu'en est-il à San Francisco ?

Je commence à regarder les tarifs d'avion pour un vol du 30/09 au 15/10.

Lufthansa à l'aller (Lyon - SF) , Air Canada et United Airlines au retour (Las Vegas - Montreal - Lyon).

J'ai trouvé un tarif à 800 € par personne mais je trouve ce tarif un peu élevé pour la saison, et je ne suis pas fan d'Air Canada qui plus est.

Auriez-vous un avis ? :)
