Je plannifie mon voyage et j'aimerais savoir si mon itinénaire tien la route. Je parts pour trois semaines et je veux faire un espèce de triangle : en partant de San Jose, je monte à Arenal, pour ensuite descendre à Mal Pais et terminer le voyage au Parc Manuel Antonio (De là je retournerais prendre l'avion à SAn Jose). J'ai une carte routière avec moi mais je suis un peu intrigué sur le traget que je dois prendre de la Fortuna à Mal Pais?

Nous sommes 3 jeunes de 22 ans et seront au Cambodge à la mi-octobre pour 10J seulement! Nous planifions de faire un trek de 4J environ! Le meilleur endroit est-il Rattanakiri? Le seul problème est que c'est assez loin et 10J... c'est peu. Y a-t-il d'autres parc nationales où de chouettes treks sont faisables? Et dans la région de Siem Reap, est il posible de faire de chouettes treks aussi? Ce qui nous permettrai de faire notre trek et aussi visiter les temples d'Angkor!

Un tout grand merci pour votre aide car il y a très peu d'info à ce sujet...

Bonjour à tous les membres Toujours dans mes préparatifs de voyage, j'ai prévu dans notre périple un trek de 2 jours vers Mae Hong Song et, lorsque nous serons plus au sud, une ballade de 2 jours aussi dans le parc de Kao Yai. Comme le temps nous est un peu compté et que ce parc nous déroute de notre circuit (Bangkok vers nord puis retour vers sud), je voulais demander à ceux qui connaissent si ça ne fait pas un peu double emploi... et si finalement ça valait le coup d'aller à Kao Yai.

A priori notre circuit de 3 semaines : Bangkok - train de nuit pour Chiang mai un jour à Chiang Mai Bus vers Mae Hong Son Visite 1 jour et trek 2 jours Retour par avion à Chiang Mai Un jour encore à Chiang Mai Train vers Phitsanuloke + bus vers Sukkothai 2 jours à Sukkothai Puis route vers le parc national de Kao Yai 2 jours dans le parc Retour vers Lopburi (mes enfants one envie de vois une ville pleine de singes...) Bangkok 2 jours 1 journée marché flottant de Damnoen Saduak + Riviere kwai Route vers ile Ko Tao 6 jours à Ko Tao Retour Bangkok et si possible 2 jours sur place avant de reprendre l'avions pour la France

Nous souhaitons passer 2 jours à Québec, 1 jour à St Félicien et 2 jours à Montréal, pour les autres étapes nous suivrons vos conseils. Merci de vos réponses, idées et critiques.

Je souhaite faire un voyage en vélo de 3 à 4 semaines au Kenya en août prochain mais j'ai très peu de renseignements sur les coins et itinéraires interessants où il est possible et intéressant de se rendre (parcs, lacs, etc ...). Mes centres d'intéret serait les beaux paysages, les rencontres avec les gens et si possibles les visites de parc (si certains sont accessibles en vélo).

Quelqu'un dispose-t-il du expérience dans ce domaine ou de renseignements de 1ère main ? (itinéraire, sécurité, possibilité de mettre le vélo dans le bus ou le taxi brousse, visites etc ...)

SOIT parc de la camargue, du verdon, du luberon ;des cevennes, des monts d ardeche, du mercantour, du vercors, chartreuse, ecrins, vercors, vanoise, massif des bauges ....

je me demande si je peux dans ces parcs emmener mon chien je sais que dans le parc de la vanoise c est interdit mais que dans les parcs des volcans d auvergne c est autorisé !!!!!

je serais à Mada en juillet et compte passer une nuit à Maevatanana . Existe t il des hôtels restaurants corrects ? que valent le "le Phare" "la betsiboka"? y a t il un parc naturel à visiter en descendant sur Majunga? Merci de vos réponses.

Pour avoir beaucoup voyage avec nos bebes jumeaux... je cherche maintenant a me simplifier la vie et a trouver un mode d hebergement ou je trouve tout sur place : lit, sterilisateur, chaise haute, parc...

Bref, c est a notre tour de louer : en mai, juin, octobre (meilleur climat pour bebe)... un studio tout equipe pour bebe (s) et ses parents...

Avec check out time a 17h00... contre le stress, LL et SL, panier depannage offert (couches-lingettes-lait-petit pot) et service de baby sitting ou velos avec siege bebe et casque sur demande !

Le studio est plutot charmant (sols de terra cota, poutres apparentes, poele a bois) et confortable (TV, LL, SL), dans un village totalement depaysant hors des sentiers battus (randonnees (porte bb a disposition), promenade sur la plage ( a 20 mn), et flamenco ! Le village se trouve a 1h30 de l aeroport de Malaga, entre Gibraltar et Ronda, dans un parc national.

Je voudrais savoir lequel est le mieux entre le National ou le state, on aimerais bien avoir un peu d'intimiter sur notre site est-ce possible là-bas car toutes les photos que j'ai vu, tout était a air ouvert.

nous partons deux mois cet été en Amérique centrale et nous allons notamment traverser le honduras. Concernant cette destination, tous le monde parle, de Copan, et des iles utila et roatan mais jamais des forets humides au centre du pays (le parc de gracias et celui proche de Tegucigalpa, parc de la tigre je crois...?). . Il y a quelques infos sur le lonely planet mais un peu confuses, ces parcs ne semblent pas tres evident a atteindre ou/et a visiter? Quelqu'un a t'il des bonnes infos concernant ces parcs, des anecdotes, des conseils, des souvenirs....y'en a t'il un mieux que l'autre?..

Could you recommend any reliable 4x4 rental companies in both the Almaty and Aktau/Mangystau regions?

I’ve read that the Mangystau region can get extremely hot in August. Do you think it’s better to start with Almaty and finish with Aktau to hopefully have milder temperatures (less extreme😛)? For us, doing the reverse would be simpler in terms of international flights, the domestic flight, and it’d also be significantly cheaper.

Regarding the places listed above, do you think there are any must-see spots we should add, or conversely, any sites that aren’t worth the detour?

More generally, do you have any practical tips for a 3-week trip to Kazakhstan in August (road conditions, fuel availability, reservations, weather, safety, etc.)?

P.S.: We’re used to traveling independently and driving 4x4s in sometimes challenging conditions (Namibia, Tanzania, Bolivia—South Lipez, Chile, etc.), and we’re also experienced hikers, used to self-sufficient treks (Patagonia, Huayhuash, Three Peaks in Nepal, among others). We’re just mentioning this to give you an idea of our level of self-sufficiency for this kind of trip.

hello I’m looking for advice for a last-minute trip—about 3 weeks (half Montenegro, half Croatia). I’m traveling solo, backpacker style (low budget, hostels). I’m 40 and love exploring cool spots—cities, beaches, mountains, sports activities, you name it.

I’m torn between renting a car or just going with the flow using buses once I’m there. A car would definitely be more convenient, but it might be pricier—plus, parking (is it paid?) and having to return it to the same place. My plan is to start in Montenegro (flying into Podgorica or Albania) and finish in Croatia, so I’d either need to do short-term rentals per country or one-way.

In Montenegro, here are the spots I’ve noted: - Ulcinj and Velika Plaža beach - A side trip to Lake Skadar and Virpazar - Budva, Sveti Stefan, and Petrovac - Cetinje and Lovćen National Park - Kotor / Perast - Žabljak and Durmitor National Park + rafting in the Tara Canyon Is 8–10 days enough?

And in Croatia, I’ve got: - Dubrovnik - Korčula - Hvar - Split + Trogir and Krka National Park - Zadar - Plitvice Lakes National Park - Croatian Istria / Rovinj / Pula - Zagreb Around 10–12 days.

Hello. I’d like to travel along I-15N from San Diego to Las Vegas with my mom, who’s 67. We’ve explored Northern California and the California Coast over the past two years and now want to continue through the desert.

There are several attractions along the way: - Mormon Rocks - Desert Discovery Center and visit the Old Woman meteorite - Joshua Tree National Park - Mojave Desert - Mojave National Preserve - Anza-Borrego Desert State Park - Silverwood Lake

My mom has back issues that prevent her from hiking or walking on trails with elevation changes. Is it possible to visit these places by car, or are the routes flat enough?

I’d love for her to experience the desert with an itinerary adapted to her condition. I’m also open to other points of interest that aren’t mentioned. We have 3-4 days for the trip, so we’re not in a rush—just want to explore.

After spending 15 days in Tenerife in February 2026, here are a few observations that might be useful for you: - Choosing Puerto de la Cruz turned out to be an excellent decision (compared to Santa Cruz, which is Lonely Planet’s pick, for example). Puerto de la Cruz has two large beaches just a 10-minute walk from the center. The atmosphere around the small port is lovely. It’s a human-scale town. The bus station makes it easy to get anywhere on the island. Carnival season is an exceptional time to visit! - Opting for the unlimited weekly bus pass for 50 € is economical (especially if you're traveling solo), eco-friendly, and practical (lots of departures and returns). The roads on major routes are often congested, and the bus network is improving—you can support this effort by traveling this way. - For hikes, I tested Teide National Park (arrival and departure by bus). Starting from El Portillo at the park entrance, the Arenas Negra circuit (2.5 to 3 hours) is stunning toward the end. You can add a section of Route 1 on the other side of the road (maps and great info at the tourist office). At the other end of the park, "Roques de Garcia" is a spectacular route—crowded but a must-see... - Tourist towns like La Orotava or La Laguna are worth the visit. Garachico has a certain charm too...

We’re heading out in March for this trek. We’re used to hiking and long-distance treks, but this’ll be our first time in Nepal.

QUESTION: People from Nepal are telling us it’s MANDATORY to have guides! Is this true, or is it just agencies trying to get work for their staff?

The Lonely Planet says: "In April 2023, the government announced that every trekker would need to hire the services of a porter or a licensed guide to obtain the TIMS permit. The law isn’t enforced, and by 2025, there were no longer any obligations for teahouse treks."

We’re planning our first trip to Quebec for early July 2026. There’ll be 2 adults and 2 teens (17 and 14 years old). For now, we’re thinking of renting an RV in Montreal for this loop.

Here’s a first draft of our route, based on itineraries I’ve seen on the forum. The times below are the useful time spent at each stop, not including driving. Does the order make sense? It has us crossing the river twice. Are the lengths of the stops reasonable? We like to take our time and not spend too much time on the road. Finally, any other suggestions for places to add or swap out?

Hi there, I’m heading to Quebec from 08/07/26 to 08/21/26 with my wife and our two sons, aged 8 and 10. I’m sharing my itinerary below—if you have any suggestions or feedback, I’d love to hear it!

Day 1: Arrival in Montreal on Friday, August 7th around 2 PM (it’s also one of my sons’ 8th birthday!). We’ll head to Westmount via public transit or taxi to pick up our Airbnb.

Day 2 & 3: Exploring Montreal.

Day 4: Picking up our rental car (not yet booked, but likely with Hertz via BSP Auto). We’ll explore the area around Montreal and then head to Montebello for the night.

Day 5: Visit to Parc Omega, staying overnight in Montebello (Airbnb).

Day 6: Heading to Shawinigan, possibly catching an evening show at Cité de l’Énergie. I’ve spotted Motel Auberge Pique-Nique for the night.

Day 7: Mauricie National Park. Overnight in Shawinigan.

Day 8: Heading to Lac Saint-Jean. I’ve looked into the Village Historique Val-Jalbert, but many say there are better options for visiting an old village, like the Village Québécois d’Antan near Quebec City. We’ll stay somewhere around the lake.

Day 9: Day around the lake, then overnight in Saguenay. FYI, August 15th is a holiday in Quebec (like in France), so some places might be busier or closed.

Day 10: Heading to Tadoussac. Staying overnight at the youth hostel to meet other travelers.

Day 11: Day in Tadoussac—whale watching and a guided forest excursion to see bears. Another night in Tadoussac.

Day 12: Heading to Quebec City, possibly stopping at Montmorency Falls along the way. We’ll pick up our Airbnb along the St. Lawrence River, not far from the aquarium.

Day 13 & 14: Exploring Quebec City and its surroundings.

Day 15: Returning to Montreal to catch our flight in the late afternoon.

I’ve tried to stay in the same place for two nights in a row for logistical reasons—it’s easier with kids. So far, only the Airbnbs are booked. For the rest, motels seem like the most budget-friendly option. I’d also love to find B&Bs with meals included, like Gîtes de France, but I’m not sure if that’s a thing here—I’m struggling to find options.

Don’t hesitate to let me know if this itinerary seems too packed. I’ve been mindful of the distances, but unfortunately, we can’t do everything, so we’ve had to make some tough choices.
