UNESCO World Heritage Sites

The former Nord-Pas de Calais-Picardie region has three sites or groups listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites:

  • Nord-Pas de Calais Mining Basin (2012): This includes over a hundred small sites or buildings (miners' houses, settlements, slag heaps, etc.) that bear witness to the region's mining activity, particularly around Béthune, Lens, Douai, and Valenciennes.
