Bonjour Valderie, je t'ai envoyé un résumé récent que j'ai trouvé, cela t'aideras peut-être. Ginette.
September 2003
I was recently at the Decameron Beach Resort from September 1 to 15 and it was my second time at the hotel. I like the hotel because it is laid back, really inexpensive and it is all inclusive!
I flew with American Airlines out of
Chicago and the flight was relatively on time and uneventful. When I arrived, I took a taxi to the hotel (I didn't buy it as part of a package) and was happy to find no one else in line for check in! Check in was quick and the front desk staff were great. One of them even remebered me from 2 years ago!
When I was there last, the Barcelo chain used to own this hotel, but now it has been bought by an independent chain, and let me tell you the difference is amazing. I obviously enjoyed my vacation a couple of years ago otherwise I would not have gone back, but this new owner is really taking steps to improve the hotel which is great. Renovations were going on in the rooms and they should last a few more months so all the rooms are completed. The food is much better than it was before (apparently they have a new chef) and the service...well I can't really say it improved because it was very good the last time I was there and it was great now too!
The hotel has three pools with a small childrens section (if you have kiddies), and even a
nice childrens playground. I was travelling on my own so I didn't have any kids to use the facilities. I usually spent my days by the pool or the beach (both very clean) and if I was at the pool, I would sit in the area where I can get a great view of the beach. It is like being on the beach without getting your drinks full of sand!
If I wanted some exercise I would play beach volleyball (the entertainment staff would gather people or we would gather our own group) or I would hit the small gym. There was almost never any one using it and I generally ahd the place all to myself!
I didn't get one of the renovated rooms, so I am not sure what they were like, but the accommodation was just like I remembered. It is on the more basic side, but I never spent much time in my room and everything worked just fine and it was kept clean.
I know people have lots of questions about tipping and some people don't feel like they should tip because it is an all inclusive hotel, but these people work so hard and get paid so little, that a few dollars here and there makes such a big difference!
I am already looking at going back there in February!
