Si la sale reputation des motos chinoises fait trop peur (motos qui tombent en morceaux, difficultes a trouver des pieces en thailande, a fortiori au cambodge...), il me semble aussi avoir vu une annonce pour une honda cbr250 de deux ans d age à 67000 bahts
en thailande, on ne trouve plus que des dream 110cm3, les modeles neufs se trouvent entre 36000 et 40000 bahts soit 1100 à 1250$, le prix suggéré par honda est 38500 bahts, un peu moins de 1200$ pour un 110 démarrage au kick
en thailande toujours, dans une gamme similaire(le wave est le successeur du dream depuis 1995), on trouve des honda wave 125 demarrage electrique a 48500b-1500$ prix conseillé et le modele 125 demarrage au kick à 1400$
la gamme wave commence a 1000$ neuf prix conseille honda (110cm#, kick, freins a tambour)

oui , les motos ou scooter chinois , faut parfois etre prudent... il vaut mieux une japonaise d'il y a dix ans qu'un scooter neuf chinois
pour les 125 dream , ca peut se negocier neuf vers les 1900 $ , et une occase recente (moins d'un an ) vers les 1600 , mon beau frere en change souvent et c'est le niveau du prix.
des petits honda 50 cub se vendent meme en etat tres moyen plusieurs centaines d'euros, mais coté reparation et pieces , tu peux casser dans n'importe quel endroit du cambodge , quelqu'un te la réparera.

C'est possible, il me semble que quelqu'un en parle dans le lien ci-dessus (discussion sur le permis). Je me garderai bien de dire que c'est simple du côté des formalités ! Par contre, ça pourrait visiblement te faire economiser pas mal d'argent. De la même façon qu'en venant de France, ça te fera économiser pas mal d'argent d'atterrir à Bangkok

Cette solution ne t'oblige à rester au moins 2 à 4 semaines en Thaïlande, pour obtenir les papiers qui te permettront de passer la frontière. Mais je connais des endroits pire que la Thaïlande pour y passer un mois. Pendant que les papiers se font, rien ne t'empêche de profiter de ta moto et de te balader en thailande

Ce sera sans doute plus simple dans un gros bled, et il n'y a pas grand chose entre Bangkok et la frontiere cambodgienne, je n'irai pas le long de la côte où les prix sont plus élevés, j'irai plutôt voir du côté de nakhon Ratchasima. J'avais oublié que dans le prix, il faudra aussi compter avec les bakchichs assez inévitables à la frontière cambodgienne, surtout avec une moto, tu seras dans une configuration encore plus vulnérable qu un touriste lambda

Un truc qui m'avait donné à une époque comme toi, je pensais à m'acheter une moto en Thaïlande, c'est que les petites motos dans ce genre là décotent beaucoup moins que ça ne se fait dans le marché automobile en France par exemple. J'en étais venu à me dire que ça valait vraiment plus le coup d'acheter une moto neuve, plutôt que de chercher une moto avec une différence de prix vraiment significative, mais qui soit déjà potentiellement une épave. Je n'ai qu'un exemple en tête de moto dans le genre honda dream à ce prix là, de mémoire, le pote qui avait acheté l'avait payé 18 000bahts pour une moto de cinq ans et 25 000 km, je ne sais plus si c'était un 110 ou 125, mais je me souviens qu'il n'y avait pas de démarreur électrique. Quand je l'avais vu, j'avais trouvé ça un peu gonflé d'acheter une moto aussi «vieille», mais il avait la moto depuis un peu moins d'un an, et il en était très satisfait, pas de pépin mécanique et elle démarrait au quart de tour.
À chaque fois que je loue une moto pour plus de quelques jours, je vais dans la succursale du concessionnaire local et je fais faire une révision officielle. La dernière fois que j'ai fait faire ça chez un concessionnaire Honda en isan en août 2014, ça m'a coûté 120 bahts (moins de 3 euros), j'ai eu droit à un re-serrages des écrous (des éléments de la carrosserie qui vibraient avant la révision, ne la faisaient plus après), un réglage de la tension de la chaîne,
Vérification du gonflage des pneux, un nettoyage, et a une vidange de l huile quatre temps, et j'ai failli oublier le sourire et l'eau fraîche offerte par l'hôtesse. J'étais venu sans rendez-vous, je suis ressorti à peu près 20 minutes plus tard. Ça ne vaut vraiment pas le coup de s'en passer.
Acheter une occase en Thailande me semble plus simple et plus rapide pour les formalités (je peux me tromper, mais on m'avait dit qu'il est d'usage d'attendre 2 à 3 mois les papiers lors d'un véhicule neuf)
Je ne souhaite pas rester en Thailande plus de 10 jours si je me lançais d'un achat en dehors du Cambodge

I’m planning a motorcycle road trip to Armenia and Georgia in September 2026 or May 2027. I’m looking for one or more riders (male or female) who’d like to explore these countries with me.
Along the way, we’ll visit Cappadocia, the capitals Yerevan, Tbilisi, Sofia, Skopje, and other cities—we can finalize the route and roadbook later.
This trip requires experience with long motorcycle journeys, as we’ll cover around 7,000 km over 5 or 6 weeks (or more, depending on sightseeing and time spent).
I don’t expect dozens of applicants, since motorcycle riders are few and far between on this forum, but I’m putting this out there anyway.
I’m starting to think about a trip that’s really close to my heart: Algeria by motorcycle, specifically the southern part of the country. It’d be for January 2025, and I’ve got two main questions:
Is it possible for an individual on a motorcycle to travel freely, outside of any organized tour, or does the regulation require some kind of supervision in the Algerian Sahara region?
Is the Hoggar massif accessible by road or by (rideable) tracks?
Beyond the official recommendations, I’m really looking for your firsthand experiences.

I’m not particularly drawn to museums, ruins, or monuments.
I want to experience local life—small villages, seaside spots, beaches, and the interior if the landscapes are extraordinary.
Ideally, coming from Athens, I’d take a bus or train to get as close as possible to a starting point, then rent a scooter (125cc) to explore by taking secondary roads or even coastal paths. I’d stay in 2-3 places for a few days each to discover their surroundings.

What do you think would be the ideal itinerary?
From Athens, the best option would be to take either a flight or a bus to Kalamata. Rent a scooter and head either west or east. Is there a tertiary road (very lightly trafficked) or a path where I can ride slowly, take it easy, and enjoy the scenery without being bothered by traffic? I’d like to go all the way to Monemvasia, still hugging the coast. I need to find a way to avoid returning to Kalamata to drop off the scooter and catch a flight—maybe a small town where the train stops so I can head back to Athens.

How do you get visas for the countries I’ll be crossing: Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, and Chile? Are they e-Visas, obtained at the border, or through embassies?
Where can I get vehicle insurance?

I’ve got 15 days off in June and I’m pretty undecided about where to go for a motorcycle road trip. Two strong desires are pulling me in different directions: Corsica or Norway.
Corsica has been a dream of mine for a long time: legendary roads, stunning landscapes, a unique vibe, and the perfect mix of sea and mountains. At the same time, I’m wondering if 2 weeks might be *too much* for Corsica—risking feeling like I’ve seen it all too quickly, especially on a bike.
Since I also have an extra week free in May, I could use that specifically for Corsica. Maybe splitting it into two trips would make more sense? If so, which routes or regions would be the most interesting to plan for a 7-day trip?
On the other hand, Norway is *super* appealing. The landscapes look incredible, totally different from anything I’ve experienced, and it’d be a real “wow” trip. I know 15 days is still short for such a vast country. Getting all the way to the North Cape seems pretty much impossible in that time, but I’m curious about what realistic routes could be planned.
So I’m wondering:
Is it better to save Norway for next year, take 3 weeks off, and do it *properly*?
Or are 15 days enough for a first amazing taste of the country?
I’d love to hear about your experiences—whether it’s Corsica (ideal duration, routes) or Norway (what’s realistic in 2 weeks on a bike).

Hello! We’re planning a motorcycle trip that will include a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau in June 2026.
We’re unsure (still debating) whether we should stay at a hotel on-site and get to the memorial with an Uber (leaving our bikes at the hotel) and book a guided tour, or base ourselves in Kraków and take a tour that includes transport.
One thing’s for sure—we’d prefer a guide in French since we don’t speak English 😅.

Unfortunately, I’m worried that parts of the N630 may have disappeared or merged with the A66 motorway, forcing us to ride long stretches of highway, which we’d rather avoid.

This is our first motorcycle trip in Morocco. I got my license two years ago with the dream of taking this kind of trip, and here we are! ✌️😍
In France, we usually ride between 300 to 400 km per day on roadsters. We’re not used to off-road tracks, so we’re looking for easy ones 😅—especially for me 😅.
For Morocco, I’ve planned stages of 200 to 300 km per day.

Day 2: Tafingoult - Amzarkou - Telouet (200 km - 4h34)
