Ma petite famille et moi même devrions arrivé courant mars pour nous installer sur Mayotte. Nous avons lu, même dévoré, toutes les discussions sur Mayotte. Alors avant tout chose merci à tous ceux qui ont pris de leur temps pour répondre aux questions de chacuns. Je ne reposerais donc pas les mêmes questions mais 2 reste en suspend, alors merci pour vos futurs réponses :
1- Quelqu'un a t il testé le haut débit que propose la societe STIO (nous prévions de nous installer sur petite terre) ? De quels débits réel disposons nous ? Nous cherchons en effet à savoir si le débit sera suffisant pour une web cam car nos enfants, et nous, souhaitons conserver le lien familliale (webfamily 😉) avec les parents resté en métropole.
2- Nos garçons ont 2 ans et 7 mois, ma femme et moi travaillerons : Quels sont horaires habituels de travail sur Mayotte ? A quels finis l'école ? et trouve t on facilement à faire garder les enfants ?
Et enfn nous cherchons quelque contacts locaux pour 2, 3 questions plus pointus(recherche d'une maison, etc....).
Nous habitons à Mayotte depuis 5 mois.
Je ne connais pas la valeur du Haut-débit proposé par STOI, mais nous avons opté pour une ligne numéris (64ko) et nous pouvons déjà faire des Webcam avec la famille restée en Métropole. Alors ça doit forcément fonctionner avec du haut-débit.
Concernant les hioraires, les écoles primaires fonctionnent généralement le matin (7h-12h) et les collèges travaillent rarement après 16h.
Les horaires de vie sont plutôt de 6h à 18h, soit en fonction du soleil, et de la chaleur (que c'est bon de se lever à 6h quand il ne fait que 24° !).
En tout cas, même si nous ne sommes pas en petite terre (nous habitons à Combani), nos impressions sur Mayotte sont bonnes.

L'adsl STOI fonctionne mais reste très cher, limité en bande passante, et parfois plante qqs j de suite
Totalement OK sur le numéris, c'est ce que j'utilise.
Web Cam possible mais saccadée et sans le son. Sans la WCam, IP marche très bien par Skype. Prévoir un tel RTC/IP en métropole car introuvable ici et tellement plus pratique que le casque
Prévoir aussi éventuellement le modem car diff a trouver ici mais possible
horaire de travail : ça dépend du boulot. début plutôt tôt le matin (7/7h30) et fin en fonction du poste
dans le privé c'est souvent vers 17h
le primaire fini a 12h, creche et garderie privé possible mais attention au nbre de place tres limité
aucun pbl pour faire garder, sinon de trouver la personne de confiance comme en métropole. seule diff, SMIG à 826€ et charge très inf à la métropole.

mon mari et moi vivons à Mayotte sur petite terre depuis aout 2007 et nous sommes chez STOI, le débit réèl est de 54Mbits/s parfois, mais rarement nous passons à 108. Cela permet la web cam, mais pour avoir STOI, il faudra que votre logement ait une vue sur la Vigie, sinon vous n'aurez pas la connection. Notre contrat fait que nous avons droit à 1000 méga par mois, il faut donc éviter les téléchargements ! Nous payons 54€ par mois.
Pour les horaires de travail, je ne peux pas vous répondre, en plus tout dépend de votre travail et de votre lieu de travail. Pour l'école, les enfants ont classe en général le matin, l'après-midi étant réservé à l'école coranique. Pour les gardes d'enfants, vous avez les nounous locales (appelées bouéni), mais je ne connais personne qui en est totalement satisfait ...... eh oui, ici c'est l'Afrique, donc avec la mentalité africaine, c'est à dire que la personne arrive rarement à l'heure, et qu'elle tombe en général très vite amoureuse ........ de votre canapé ! N'ayant pas d'enfant, je ne peux vous en dire plus !!!

Suivant les réponses, je chercherai du matériel en France avant de partir.
J'arriverai sur l'Ile début avril et ma famille arrivera début juin. Donc camping pour moi durant 2 mois.
J'ai demandé s'il y avait des disponibilités de maison sur la pointe de Koungou afin de faire une coupure avec le travail.
Si quelqu'un utilise Stoi sur Koungou, je suis preneur d'un retour d'expérience.

il est possible qd on est à mayotte de prendre un abonnement internet via numeris et non pas une ligne classique. Alors on peut téléphoner via le net et donc ne rien payer si votre interlocuteur est lui aussi sur le net ou très peu (0.017cts/min) si on appel un n° fixe

En métro, c'est carrément de l'ADSL (très haut débit) et vous avez des pub tous les jours pour des box avec le tel + TV gratuit

Mayotte n’est pas encore relié au réseau mondial de câbles sous-marins
(pas encore car l’opérateur historique a un projet, mais rien avant 1 ou 2 ans)
Quel que soit l’opérateur donc, les liaisons se font par satellite.
L'orbite géostationnaire est étant située à près de 36 000 km d'altitude, chaque bond satellite représente environ ¼ de seconde en temps de propagation
A l’oreille ça ne s’entend pas, mais pour les ordi, c’est vraiment pas terrible
La bande passante sur satellite se loue en général très cher, donc tous les opérateurs sont obligés de concentrer leur trafic sauf le RNIS (Numéris chez France Télécom)
ou le débit est garanti de bout en bout.
Concernant la Webcam, je dirai qu’au début on essaye de se voir et après on s’en lasse. L’essentiel est de pouvoir se parler (sur une liaison Internet) et ça marche même sur ligne analogique, étant connecté à Internet, à des forums (sites de conversations publique ou privée).
Concernant la voix sur I.P. (Internet protocole) en version minimale.
- le minimum c’est un micro connecté à ton ordi.
Sans micro tu entends les autres par les haut-parleurs de l’ordi, mais tu ne peux pas répondre.
Un téléphone spécifique voix sur IP ne t’apportera rien de plus à Mayotte.
Son rôle est de pouvoir numéroter avec, comme si c’était un téléphone normal (via SKYPE)

tout a fait OK sur tes explications, mais pas sur la conclusion : imagine ta voiture sur route défoncée, par 34°, 95% d'humidité, et averse tropicale (c'est le cas aujourd'hui car on est en alerte orange et FAME n'est pas passé loin). Je préfère rouler avec un 4X4, les vitres fermées et la clim qu'avec ta 2CV. Bref même à Mayotte, un téléphone RTC/IP sans fil et fonction haut parleur est plus agréable qu'un micro/casque connecté par 1.5m de fil à l'UC. Avec le même appareil tu choisis F&T ou l'IP, tu peux te balader dans la pièce, et faire profiter les enfants de la conversation. Mais c'est sûr, çà n'améliore en rien la qualité.

En réponse a ta question, un accés RNIS T0 soit 144 Kbit/s, c'est physiquement une ligne avec 2 fils de cuivre comme en analogique.
au bout un boitier fourni par l'opérateur d'ou sortent 2 lignes téléphoniques tout ce qu'il y a de plus ordinaire.
Un T0 RNIS s'appelle aussi 2B +D ( 2 lignes normales à 64 k = 128, reste un canal D à 16 Kbits/s pour de la signalisation)
Donc ton matos de métropole doit fonctionner si tu es en bas débit.
Et même "tes codes" de metropole chez (wanadoo / Orange) fonctionnent seul le N° d'appel était différent,
Je précise était car je n'en suis plus certain.
En résumé tu utilise le même modem,
c'est aprés le boitier "à ton domicile", que ca change car il n'y a plus de compression ni de dégradation du signal.
Aprés ce fameux boitier le signal est numérique soit = 00111100011110000.................
Et l'opérateur qui ne sait pas si c'est de la voix ou de la transmission de données, doit restituer la méme chose 00111100011110000.................

Au départ je voulais me raccorder chez stoi, mais 1 go de données cela ne semble pas être assez confortable. J'attends d'avoir des retours d'expériences d'utilisateurs sur Mayotte pour prendre ma décision. Mais je commence à me ralier à ce que font beaucoup de gens font sur l'ile à savoir adopter le RNIS illimité.
Pour le raccordement avec ma base "airport station", je verrai bien sur place. Au pire je raccorderai mon mac sur le réseau et il me servira de routeur pour le portable grace à la fonction airport.

Je peux faire part de mon expérience de client STOI à Mayotte, sur Petite Terre, depuis 7 mois.
Je suis abonné au téléphone pour 19, 90 €/mois et à internet pour 54 €/mois.
Internet : débit annoncé par un petit message STOI à la connexion : 100 Mb/s
débit réel : de 40 à 50 ko/s en début de téléchargement à souvent 8 - 9 ko/s à la fin.
Téléphone : communications "illimitées" !!!! .... vers les fixes en Métropole, une usine à gaz pour se connecter : d'abord taper le 9, se connecter, attendre un message de l'opérateur "veuillez composer...", taper le N°, attendre un nouveau message "il vous reste..." et parler. Bon ce parcours du combattant serait supportable si ensuite la communication était techniquement acceptable, nous sommes à Mayotte, on ne peut pas trop en demander ! Mais là, en ce qui me concerne, c'est la catastrophe : souvent impossibilité de me connecter, et quand j'ai la communication vers des fixes de différentes régions de métropole (ce n'est donc pas la métropole qui est en cause), les communications sont très souvent de mauvaise qualité : les voix sont tronçonnées ce qui fait que l'on passe beaucoup de temps à se faire répéter, dans les deux sens, ce qui conduit aussi souvent à interrompre l'appel.
Conclusion : j'envisage très sérieusement de changer d'opérateur.
Mon voisin qui travaille le jour et la nuit, avec différentes régions du monde, avec internet de France Télécom me dit ne pas avoir de problème, si ce n'est un débit trop faible. Je crois que son débit ne doit pas être éloigné du mien.

Je prends des cartes STOI au Caribou et me connecte pour récupérer mes courriels car en bas débit c'est l'horreur.
