C'est le cas d'un homme de 57 ans de Puerto Iguazu (argentine) qui a contacté ce cas au Paraguay.
Province de Misiones: Un homme de 57 ans, qui vit à Puerto Iguazu est devenu, malgré lui, le premier infecté de Dengue de cet été, d'après une information du Ministère de la Santé.
Le patient, un ex-gendarme, se trouve en bonne santé et est suivi au paracétamol à son domicile. cette personne s'était rendu au Paraguay à hauteur de la localité Presidente Franco, où la semaine passée on détecta trois cas de ce genre. Dans cette région on enregistre une élévation de cas de dengue.
Le Ministre de la Santé Mansur recommanda il y a trois semaines d'intensifier les actions de détection et contrôle de Dengue dans les Provinces du Nord-Ouest et Nord-Est, suite à une confirmation officielle d'un nid de Dengue dans les pays voisins.
Le patient, en plus de présenter les signes cliniques compatibles à cette maladie - fièvre supérieure à 38°, plaques sur la peau et douleurs abdominales-, a eu la confirmation du laboratoire de cette maladie suite à un examen fait à l'hôpital de Eldorado. (Pr. de Misiones).
Pour la fièvre jaune, celle-ci est toujours latente dans ces régions et les autorités en sont conscientes et travaillent également sur ce point.
Voyager c'est aussi prendre des précautions.Cela se prépare.

Nous voici donc reparti avec de nouveaux petits amis. Cette année, apparemment on va en effet être gâtés car la saison des pluies est arrivée assez tôt. ici, l'eau tombe quotidiennement depuis dix jours et on commence déjà à prendre des précautions pour tuer les larves.
Il faut quand même répèter que la dengue n'est pas très dangeureuse et qu'il ne faut surtout pas prendre d'espirine en cas de fièvre.
Rappelons que le vaccin contre la fièvre jaune est presque OBLIGATOIRE maintenant avec l'été:

Ici, temps lourd avec orage et il pleut depuis cette nuit. Mais, au moins, ici, je sais que le soleil va revenir. La pluie est absolument nécessaire surtout pour les régions du Nord mais sans dégats. Mendoza, hier a été servie, innondations en prime.
J'espère que la médecine française va faire prendre conscience du danger de la fièvre jaune.
Pour le dengue c'est vrai que ce n'est pas trop grave mais en attendant, tu perds ton voyage.

Nous partons le 24 dec pour BA avec notre petite de 18 mois com deja discutée longuement avec chegringo, ns sommes vaccinés depuis une semaine pr la fievre jaune ms notre fille n a pu l etre encore et maintenant elle a une otite et de la fievre dc je ne pensais pas la faire vaccinée comme s etait prevu demain. envoyes un commentaire en privé à Saltamania et poses lui les questions. Pour la voiture, sois prudente; j'espère que dans la région de Salta, ils sont plus honnêtes qu'ici. Pour le siège bébé, insistes bien car ils ne sont pas très habitués à tout çà, même la ceinture n'est jamais mise alors que le code de la route l'oblige.
Pour la fièvre jaune pour ta gamine, es-tu certaine qu'il faut le faire à cet âge. Sinon, je crois qu'il n'y a pas de gros problèmes; son problème urgent, c'est son otite et cela doit être réglé avant de partir car elle va souffrir le martyr dans l'avion; demande absolument conseil au pédiâtre. C'est la même chose que pour ceux qui ont des sinusites (et j'en suis). Un horreur!
Sinon, pour les pluies, ne te tracasses pas, çà va cesser. Ici, hier, nous étions inonder, aujourd'hui, nous avons un soleil merveilleux. C'est très changeant. Ce n'est pas notre temps du nord européen; je ne connais pas le Canada!
Sois sans crainte dans ce cas là!

Certe la dengue est un fléau a prendre très au sérieux, mais il y a pire en Amérique latine et personne n'en parle (ou très rarement).
Il s'agit de la maladie de Chagas, qui est transmise par une punaise. 16 à 18 millions de personnes sont atteintes par cette maladie en Amérique du Sud et on estime à un peu plus de 3 millions de cas pour le Nord de l'Argentine.
On sait qu’environ 45.000 personnes en meurent chaque année et d’autres cas mortels sont parfois passés sous silence ou attribués à d’autres causes.

Je ne vais pas revenir sur la fièvre jaune car je suis d'accord avec Chegringo. Pour l'instant, aucun cas et aucun foyer en vue donc n'y pense plus.
Pour la voiture, les arnaques ne sont pas si nombreuses que ca ici. Le prix est par contre très variable et apparemment Nicole t'a averti. Il y a en effet des agences locales très fiables. Je viens de regarder sur AVIS et à cette période une cat A en kms illimités te fait 1934 pesos si tu payes en ligne. A ce prix là, tu peux avoir une catégorie supérieure 5 portes avec un chauffeur-guide pendant ta semaine ce qui te permettrait d'être beaucoup plus tranquille (difficile de conduire, de s'occuper d'un enfant et de profiter des paysages) en gardant ta marge de liberté (dans ce genre de service, la liberté est totale)!!!!! N'oublie pas qu'en saison des pluies, ce n'est pas toujours facile de circuler dans le coin. Je peux bien sûr te renseigner là-dessus. Pour le siège, tu auras ca sans problème je pense.
Pour les fêtes de fin d'année, je crains bien fort que tu aies du mal à trouver quelques chose car tout ce dont j'attends parler est complet. Si j'entends parler de quelque chose de bien, je te fais signe dans tous les cas

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

After those 6 months, is it possible (instead of bothering a relative to send the medication) to see a foreign doctor to get another 6-month travel authorization? How does it work at the airport? The suspected origin is contamination in Namibia by jackals.
The contagion seems to be spreading.
Preventive vaccination (of the animals) is being considered.

Once symptoms appear—sometimes weeks or even months later—death is inevitable.
It’s the bite that transmits the disease.
There are so-called "furious" forms with aggression, but also forms without aggression.
