Hi there,

It’s a great itinerary. As always, watch out for ZTLs when driving within Italian cities. A modern, up-to-date GPS should help you avoid them.

Thanks for your comment. Actually, I’d love to know the best time to go since I’m flexible and don’t want to be bothered by snow

The weather can be very changeable in the Dolomites, even in summer. A few years ago, I went there for a day in August. It was very sunny. Once up there, the weather gradually deteriorated. I had to return at night in pouring rain, on winding roads. The fluorescent signs along the road saved my life more than once! It was impossible to see some of the drop-offs in places. So even without snow, you’ll need to stay cautious and patient if the weather turns bad.

Venice in August will be packed with tourists, but that’s the case all year round. I still think June will be a good time.

I’ll let other mountain experts guide you further.

Thanks, actually I’m planning to leave in early June 2026. But I can move it forward or back—I’m looking at a mid-length period, knowing that in the mountains (and these days in general) anything can change!
