At 70 years old but in great shape and a seasoned long-term traveler, I’m looking for a travel companion to join me in Armenia in September or October. The dates aren’t set in stone, but I’d like to book my flight ticket soon (I live in Auvergne, so departure from Lyon)... After that, I’ll continue to Turkey (where I go very often), stopping in Georgia (where I’ve been twice in recent years), before heading back to Southeast Asia at the beginning of January, as I do every year since retiring 10 years ago :-)

Just so you know, I’m not looking for luxury in hotels, guest houses, or Airbnbs—I love street food and get around by bus or taxi using apps available in the country I’m visiting!

... looking forward to hearing from you :-))

Hi Dana, What would you like to see in Armenia and do? Do you already have an itinerary? How much time have you planned? Do you enjoy walking for hours? Thanks for these details.

Hello Dana, What would you like to see and do in Armenia? Do you already have an itinerary? How much time have you planned? Do you enjoy walking for hours? Thanks for these details.

Oh, hello again, Marie :-) Indeed, we’ve exchanged messages on this site before—I reread them with pleasure :-)) For Armenia, I haven’t set any dates yet (max one month, the length of the visa) or a specific route beyond UNESCO sites, for example, and a few gems I’ve spotted online (like the megalithic avenue of Hartashen)... I’m 70 now, so walking for hours isn’t my thing, but I can comfortably manage about ten kilometers (not every day!), knowing I love stopping to take photos (landscapes, flowers, birds...) :-) After Armenia, I’ll continue to Turkey (3 months visa-free), where I was last year at the same time after spending 15 days in Georgia heading north to stay for 10 days in the small village of Omalo, only accessible by 4x4 before the first snowfalls... I loved it :-)) I read that you’re of Vietnamese origin—funny because I’m planning to return there in January (this year, I spent two months in Thailand, one in Laos, one in Cambodia, and came back to France in early May from Kuala Lumpur... I’m starting to know these countries well and always return with pleasure!) :-) Have a good evening... Hi Dana, Like you, I’m 70 and would love to visit Armenia—but in late May to early June 2026, with as many hikes as possible. I’d prefer homestays if possible. If my dates work for you, shall we chat? Catala
