nous voilà déjà de retour ne notre superbe voyage en Catalogne (Espagne) et du Portugal....16 jours de plaisirs intance quoi que pas trop reposant mais remplie de surprises et qui as su remplir mes attentes qui étais déjà très élevé....
Nous sommes 5 a revenir....moi Yanick 34 ans, mon mari Martin 34 ans (allergique aux poissons et fruits de mers) et nos 3 enfants de 10, 7 et 2 ans.... Tous semble avoir addoré pour des raisons bien différentes d'un a l'autre.....celui de 2 ans a addoré l'avion, le train et le bateau....Bref tous en son sorti grandit...je conseilles ce voyage a tous et surtout aux familles...ce sont vraiment des destinations ou tout est a voir et approprié pour les enfants de tout ages....

jour 1- avions Montreal - Toulouse
jour 2- train Toulouse- Barcelone en trois segements....ce fut long et éprouvant...mais que voulez-vous.....arrivé a Barcelone on recuper notre voiture de location a l'Aéroport de Barcelone et on roule j'usqu'a Miami Platja ( 1h40 minutes de là....c'est sur la Costa Daurada) nous avions louée une maison superbe pour pas cher pour 6 nuits....
jour 3- Journé de repos et de récupérations....un peu de plage sur la Costa Daurada (qui nous a décu on doit l'avouée!!! il y avait des roches dans l'eau pas a peu près...) puis l'eau n'est pas si cliare qu'on l'aurais cru par les images qu'on avait vu....
jour 4- Journée a Barcelone (nous y alons par voiture....dans le trfic de la ville....quel erreur monumentale!!! 3 heures a tournées en rond et ce perdre au milieu de la conduite Européene et des motos qui semble encore bien plus pressé que les voitures, ils ce faufiles entre les voitures ou déjà il n'y a plus d'espace!!!!ouf!!! le stationnement coute les yeux de la tête...3 euro de l'Heures...max 27 Euro pour la journée...donc envrions 45$ par jours en Canadiens...(L'essence et les payages en plus....)
pour ce premier stop a Barcelone on a fait le musée de Picasso, les remblass (que nous avons bien aimé!!!) Petite rue bordé de restos et pleins d'animations et de souvenirs a rapporté a bon prix....un petit tour de navette avec les Golondrinas ...(plu ou moin a recommandé) mais pour nous c'étais gratuits avec notre carte de Barcelone et puis notre plus jeune a bien aimé!!!bref c'est tout car avec tout ce trafic on n'est arrivé tard ce journée là...
jour 5- journée a Terragona (un coup de coeur pour nous qui n'avait pas d'attente!!! il y a une belle plage avec de bonne vague, superbe...il y a un forum Romain tres vieux a voir, la ville est vraiment belle et sympatique tout en fleur...relax....
jour 6- journée a Barcelone en train (1h40 allée + 1h40 retour pour moin de 6 euro par personnes...pas cher le train!!! Nous avons faites la Sagrada Famillia ( a ne pas manqué.....prenez les écouteurs ca vaut le coutcoup....puis nous avons ensuite vu la Pedrera ( avec les écouteurs, prenez le circuit long car le court est trop bref et pas assez informatif ) et la casa batllo ( de l'extérieur seulement, mais je crois que l'intéreiur aurrais valu la peine!! Bref que du Gaudi!!! que j'addore et les 2 enfants plus vieux on addoré!! et mon mari aussi a ca grande surprise!!!
jour 7- encore Barcelone (mais avec 3h00 allée et 3h30 retour pour le train qui va pas très bien cette journée là, en plus nous avons été debout dans e train au retour!!!Grrrr...) musée de la fondation joan Miro (tous on aimé sauf mon mari qui n'est pas trop amateur d'art faut dire) ensuit visite a El Poble Espagnol ( village espagnol avec les écouteurs c'est interessant) et visite du Parc Guell...superbe...domage qu'on avait pas plus de temps pour y flaner!!!
jour 8- nous quittons notre maison de miami platja pour ce rendre dans les montagnes pyrénées (notre coup de coeur a tous de l'Espagne a part mon Gaudi quoi!!!) Nous voyagons vers Viehla en voiture environs 4h15 nous louons un petit appertement studio sur place et nous comtemplons le paysage du village magnifique...ca y est on est rendu au paradis...c'est juste trop beau et ca vaut le déplacement!!!
jour 9- Petite rendonée Pédestre dans les montagnes ( on ce crois au pays de Heidi avec les neiges éternels et les vaches qui on la grosse cloche au coup) belles chutes d'eau, nous avons tous vraiment tryper!!!
jour 10- Nous quittons déjà!!! Bref on aurais pris une journée de plus là!!!Pour les amateurs de sensations fortes, il y a là de quoi satisfaire tout les gouts...kayak, rafting, escalades, vélo montagne....Nous voyageons vers La Costa Brava ou nous avons louée pour 2 nuits le camping de Palafrugell...nous choisissons de passé par les montagnes pour le panorama!!!7h30 de voitures...oups, je crois que c'étais un peu long, mais les montagnes si vertigineuses, splandide mais épeurentes avec sa route étroite qui roule des 2 sens!!! ouf, que des émotions...nous sommes passé au dessus des nuages avec plus de 2000 pieds dans les aires....
jour 11- on profite de l'emplacement du superbe camping plein d'animation, la belle plage de la costa Brava, et un petit step au théatro muséum de Salvadore Dali qui est tres interessant!!!Domage pas d'écouteur!!!
jour 12- Nous quittons très tot pour profité d'un vol de Vueling a seulement 30 euro qui nous rend de Barcelone a Lisbonne en mois de 2 heures....génial...on avait reservé d'avance pour ce tarif!!! De la on loue une voiture a l'aéroport et on ce rend en algave, a Lagos ou on a louée un beau petit camping très calme pour pas cher....Camping Tourissimo ...un step a la plage ...c'est superbe...a notre grande surprise l'eau reste très froide!!! Petit tour en bateu pour visité les rochers pour 10Euro seulement
jour 13- NOus relaxons et profitons de l'endroit....un tour a la praia da rocha!!! wow!!! superb...l'Algave c'est notre coup de coeur de POrtugal...les gens sont gentils
jour 14- encore une journée a flané dans les allentours, les photos de la petite fille disparu sont partout car nous sommes vraiment dans la région ou elle a disparu, c'est très triste!!!
jour 15- Nous prenons la route pour 2 jours a Lisbonne....De la route et puis on ce perd dans le vieux cartier ou les rues n'arrete pas de changer de noms....la ville a un plan complexe dans le coin ou on a pris notre Pensao.....bref on flane et on va souper au resto et magasiner dans un mega centre d'achat
jour 16- Journée au Palacio de Pena, c'est très beau et la ville de Sintra est magnifique, alors on décide de ne pas allée a l'Océanarium et de profité du paysage....on soupe dans un resto au métro restéodaures....c'est charmant
jour 17- nous revenons a Montréal, la tête remplis de souvenir....
et voila il ne te reste qu'à revenir pour visiter l'andalousie . un voyage à elle seule . mais aussi la castille, la galice, le pays basque ......

Je viens de lire votre périple, bien intéressant, nous quittons le 12 juillet pour un 17 jours en Espagne.
Nous passerons une semaine à Barcelone et justement Gaudi est la raison de séjour à Barcelone. Si je comprend bien, on peut louer des écouteurs dans tous les sites de Gaudi ?
Vous alllez vous régalé.....effectivement, il est possible de louée des écouteurs pour tout les sites de gaudi sauf pour le parc Guell ...enfin je n'en suis pas certaines...je n'ai pas été voir dans les pavillons du parc....pour la casa batlo, nous n'avons pas visité l'intérieur, mais ca semlais tres interessant.....mon seul regret gauodienne...si on peut le dire ainci!!! Qui étais aussi la raison de mon voyage...

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?
- Is the road through the narrow valley of the White Lütschine toward Lauterbrunnen and beyond still worth it in terms of views and scenery?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...
