ma question concerne l'inscription de ma fille - 8 ans, française - dans une école indienne.
Je ne sais pas
1) si c'est possible
2) quelle paperasse est requise, les formalités, le visa requis .. surtout si la mère - moi - n'a que le visa touriste !
3) comment ça se passe.. dans une école indienne (repas, programme, horaires, etc.). Je me doute que l'enseignement y est proposé en anglais et recours à la langue maternelle des enfants.
Je voudrais faire vivre ce pays à ma fille, mais pas sans école et contacts avec les enfants indiens.
Qu'en dites-vous ?

Lorsque je m'étais intéressé à la scolarité en Inde pour mes enfants, j'étais branché Auroville et donc j'avais fait les démarches pour le collége Français de Pondy.
Il fallait d'abord aller sur place comme touriste pour faire toutes les démarches d'inscription, puis, avec les papiers il fallait aller à l'ambassade Indienne en France réclamer un "student visa" pour l'enfant. Pour toi, il faut faire les visas de 5 ans que tu peux avoir à Paris, ou aller à Madrid, ils donnent 1 an sans problème là bas.
Mon choix c'était porté pour la suite sur le lycée Américain de Kodaikanal au Tamil Nadu, pour que l'enfant est une maitrise du Français, de l'Anglais et du Tamil, que je préférre à l'Hindi. (C'est la plus vieille langue parlé au monde).

Avec un visa touriste vous pouvez sans problème inscrire votre enfant au lycée Français, en ce qui concerne l'école indienne il faut choisir le privé, école tenue par les sœurs, cout 1500 Rs pour l'année, obligation cours en anglais. Expérience vécu.

je n'avais pas pensé aux écoles privées, c'est peut-être le mieux en effet, je vais me renseigner car je sais pas comment les localiser. Si quelqu'un a un tuyau ou connaît un espace internet qui répertorie ces écoles ?? C'est toujours des heures de recherche pour chaque info je deviens un raton laveur d'écran et heure après heure mes yeux se rapprochent de ceux de la taupe !

le programme indien est tres diffrent u programme françcais je le vois entre mon fils et celui de mon beaux fils je te recommande une ecole francais ou privée programme en anglias cordialement
Namasté.Si j'ai bien compris tu pars bientot tenter l 'aventure....Je viens de réaliser que la rentrée la-bas c'est juillet donc pour ma part c'est reporté et j ai décidé de faire l'école a la maison peut-etre sans le cned mais avec des outils pedagogiques.Mon fils rentre en cm1.(on a fait le ce2 en Inde cette année avec le cned ).Je serais vraiment ravie que tu partages ton experience avec moi, et peut-etre pourrions-nous nous voir dans quelques mois, je compte aller faire un tour dans le sud pour checker la situation a pondicherry.(il existe un portail internet bien fait sur cette école francaise facile à trouver).Par contre c'est dans les 1000euros à l'année.Je sais aussi que le programme dans les école indiennes est tres different et aussi la maniere d'enseigner.Pour ma part j'aimerai que mon fils ne soit pas complètement largué si on décide de reprendre un cursus plus "normal". Niveau socialisation il n'y a eu vraiment aucun problème il a toujours trouvé des potes pour jouer et il est devenu bon au cricket!

Sinon d'apres mes renseignements le rythme quotidien est semblable a celui de la France, il existe aussi des genres de garderies et il y a la cantine(que se soit pour les écoles indiennes ou francaises).
L'école indienne est en anglais et langue locale.Je dois appeler la soeur d'un ami qui est partie a madras l'année derniere et a mis sa fille de 8ans dans une école Oméga .Je te dis les infos si tu veux quand je la contacterai.en tout cas une chose est sure les écoles indiennes doivent etre privees et sont beaucoup moins chères.

Il faut apporter des précisions concernant le cout du lycée Français de Pondicherry: l'inscription comprenant le "DIVERS" environ 13000 Rs, le cout trimestrielle est de 9800 Rs, sans compter les petits à coté........
Dans le privé indien les cout son moindre, sauf si l'on désire les grandes écoles, la donation pour entrer peut atteindre sans probléme 50000 Rs.
C'est un choix.

Oui je pars à l'aventure, mais tout d'abord sans ma fille : pour 1 mois et demi période mousson, je pars en reconnaissance pour le Sud, avec périple spécial job et school ! Plus sérieusement école car il en va évidemment de la situation de ma fille et de la mienne (stabilité, tranquillité), que j'espère pouvoir "visiter". J'irai du côté de Pondi qui me tente quand même malgré le bassin communauté française.
Si tu t'y trouves ce sera avec plaisir que je t'y rencontrerai, on se tient au courant d'accord, et même ailleurs en fonction de nos points d'ancrage !
Je ne sais pas si je pourrai me connecter facilement et venir sur le site lorsque je serai en prospection mais pour sûr je te contacte à mon retour.

Si tu pars dans deux jours, tu ne seras pas en période de mousson au Tamil Nadu, où la mousson ne commence qu'en septembre-octobre. Tu seras dans les grosses chaleurs humides de juillet, avec des températures avoisinant les 35°C.

En Inde il y a des écoles privées dans toutes les villes indiennes d'une certaine importance.
Le système scolaire indien public est assez lamentable au niveau primaire (alors que l'enseignement supérieur est excellent), et les gens qui en ont les moyens mettent leurs enfants dans des écoles privées.
Les écoles privées catholiques sont réputées, notamment en Inde du Sud, et les familles non catholiques y placent aussi leurs enfants. Dans une grande ville du sud, tu trouveras toujours une école "saint quelquechose", tenue par des religieux.
Il y a aussi le réseau d'écoles initié par Swami Vivekananda...
(cherche Vivekananda School sur Google) et bien sûr les fameuses écoles Montessori, introduites en Inde au début du XX°s par la soeur adoptive du philosophe Krishnamurti.

Bien sûr je ne parlais pas du tout du collége des soeurs, je parlais du collége de l'ashram qui est complétement laïque, sans aucun bourrage de crâne "mère" etc.
Je décolle le 15 et je serai à Pondy vers le 22. Y seras-tu encore ? Je pars avec mes 3 enfants qui aujourd'hui ont 14, 17 et 20 ans. Il y a des cyber-cafés partout en Inde et tu peux me dire comment ça se passe :

j'épluche le site depuis 8 jours au moins pr une école. (en dehors du lycée français bien sûr)
question: des noms de chouettes écoles sont-ils arrivés à vos oreilles ?...
ex:St Joseph de Cluny paraît très bien (j'en ai entendu parler même en France) mais on dirait que ça n'existe plus (ce qui m'étonne).

Pour faire bref: j'ai du mal à trouver des noms d'écoles privées pour ma fille de 7 ans: je voudrait qu'elle expérimente ce genre d'école, + apprentissage de l'anglais.
j'ai l'impression que St Joseph de Cluny, par exemple, (réputé très bien ) ne dispense plus de cours pour les primaires.
(je ne trouve pas dans les discussions du forum, il y a des idées , mais pas de noms, la liste du gvt Indien est un vrai charabia...)

La section primaire de l'école Saint Joseph de Cluny existe bel et bien. Elle se trouve rue Suffren, et je crois qu'il y a une antenne rue Romain Rolland. C'est une école de filles. (Pour les garçons c'est la Petit Séminaire School, rue Gandhi).

C'est effectivement la meilleure école privée de Pondy.
L'enseignement y est anglophone depuis bien longtemps. Je ne sais pas s'ils ont un cours de français en primaire.
Ma femme, qui est une ancienne élève de la St Joseph of Cluny School m'a dit que, dans les années 90, elle y avait une camarade de nationalité française.
Mais elle m'a également dit que la St Joseph of Cluny School recrutait ses élèves dès l'âge de 3 ans, les gardait jusqu'à la fin du secondaire, et n'avait pas l'habitude de les prendre en cours de scolarité.
Toutefois, si cet obstacle venait à se présenter, il y aurait peut-être moyen de négocier en faisant un don gracieux à l'école et en payant des droits d'inscription plus conséquents que le tarif habituel.
A Pondy, on attend souvent des Français qu'ils aient des sous et qu'ils
soient généreux.
En tous les cas, dans un grand nombre de circonstance, un Blanc paye plus cher qu'un Indien. Comme on dit là-bas: "White skin increases the rate".

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
