Nous vivons en France, près de Perpignan avec nos deux filles de 6 et 3 ans et un 3ième enfant à venir pour l'automne 2009.
Richard travaille dans les énergies renouvelables (solaire, biomasse, construction en bois bioclimatique, etc.) et vient de recevoir une proposition de poste à Saint-LEU.
Il a déjà vécu sur l'île enfant et garde un souvenir extra... il sait aussi que cela a beaucoup changé... Ses parents vivent en Calédonie et viendraient nous rejoindre..
Alors, voilà du changement ! De l'ouverture, des rencontres, des confrontations à Soi-même , de la sensibilité à d'autres manières de vivre , plein de cultures différentes... Passionnant !
Et puis, des questions bien mentales bien-sûr... Type "métro inquiets" !
Partir avant l'accouchement pour être fier de la carte d'identité du petit dernier ou après l'accouchement avec un bébé de quelques semaines ?
Est-ce si difficile de boucler un budget d'une famille de 5 à Saint Leu si l'on mange local, loge F4 -F5 lumineux mais simple, et aime se balader, randonner, se baigner, un peu de poney ou d'activités pour les filles, rencontrer, partager ? Quel budget mensuel nécessaire pour ce type de vie ?
Et Saint-Leu, c'est comment ?
Faut-il vraiment ramener sa voiture de métropole ? Une Zafira impec et super fiable depuis le début (eh oui, une Opel !)de 140000 kms ?
Faudrait-il ramener aussi son électroménager tout neuf de 2 semaines (eh oui, tout a pété en même temps !) ? (Pour le reste, bonheur de tout vendre ! Passer à autre chose, s'alléger, se simplifier !)
Et enfin, question de ma fille à la peau tendre : l'huile essentielle de citronnelle ou de géranium (on aime les produits naturels...) suffit-elle pour éloigner les gros moustics de l'île ?
Bref, vivement que l'on rigole de nos questions bientôt !!!

Saint leu ville très sympa;très authentique;le reste, a voir si déménagement payé, pourquoi ne pas tout prendre.oui pour les huiles;j'utilise et c'est très bien.Loyer, va sur le forum tu auras des réponses.Voilà quant aux loisirs, il y a tout et st leu est une des villes les plus sympas!

la vie à st Leu est très agréable, c'est même la plus chouette ville de la réunion à mon goût!
Il y a des aires de jeux sur l esplanade le long de l océan, une plage de sable blanc "le lagon" surveillée, une salle de spectacle très modeste mais elle a le mérite d exister! et une séance ciné le mercredi soir. je te conseille d inscrire tes enfants à l école de la pointe des châteaux (plus récente et moins grande que celle du centre).
les loyers sont comme en métropole pour une maison autour de 1200 pour un appart un peu moins. contrairement à ce qui est souvent dit la vie n est pas si chere ici, si vous aimez le poisson, ce sera même la bonne surprise (autour de dix euros le kilo) carotte, banane, orange, citron, ananas, chou, p de terre, tomate à 1, 5; les fruits de la métropole sont plus chers (normal) raisin, prune, pêche à 3, 5.
détail important : sans voiture c est la galère!! si tu fais venir ton véhicule renseigne toi bien auprès des douanes, c est un peu flou pour les taxes. sinon pour le mobilier, si tu déclares tout en "déménagement" il n y aura pas de taxe, il faudra juste une photoc du contrat de travail de ton mari

n'hésitez pas! avec des enfants en bas age c'est l'idéal!
mon dernier nageait à 2 ans et demi a force d'etre en piscine ou en mer tout le temps!
climat très agréable (un êu chaud et humide l'été c'est vrai)
citronnelle marche très bien , c'est ce que j'utilise
st leu est jeune, sportive, bohème, beaucoup de concerts...
pour le déménagement: tout est plus cher la bas mais le déménagement aussi a un coût...
vous ne partez pas au fin fond de l'Afrique, c'est la France sous les tropiques

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area.
