Je suis en train de préparer un itinéraire au Cambodge pour janvier 2010. Je souhaite que ce voyage soit un mélange de découverte et surtout de repos.
Pouvez vous me dire si cet itinéraire est réalisable sans trop courir partout (pas trop chargé) , et apportez également vos suggestions ou bon plans ?

c'est agréable de voir enfin quelqu'un qui voyage doucement mais surement 😏.
Sur Phnom Penh, je vous conseille d'aller voir le "S21", tranche d'histoire récente du Cambodge. sinon votre itinéraire semble très bien, des "vacances intelligentes" (cela n'engage que moi 🙂).
Oui, tu ne courras pas là ..... et c'est tant mieux, tant est que pour saisir Phnom Penh il faut vraiment prendre son temps .....
Jour 2 - Va au Wat Phnom le matin, et déjeune le midi dans les petits stands en bas face au Wat, ambiance garantie avec les khmers rivés à la télé ou passe des combats de catch .... et puis aussi ces pauvres garçons qui sont là avec leurs sacs plastiques pour prendre les reste de ton assiette, à méditer aussi car c'est cela le Cambodge aussi ....
Profite bien du Palais Royal, c'est un chouette endroit ..... mais garde le Musée National pour un autre jour, car il s'y cache des merveilles ....
Jour 5 - Oui, sans problème le Phnom Chisor, essaye de monter avec les gamins, et le Tonlé Bati dans la journée .... trouve un taxi pour 20 à 25 usd, c'est le plus simple ..... le Bati le matin, comme cela tu déjeunes au bord du fleuve et le Chisor l'aprés midi .....
Trouve le temps aussi de te perdre dans les allées du Marché russe, le plus sympa et le plus pittoresque quand même ..... le Quai Sisowath c'ets le soir surtout qu'il faut s'y promener, quand les khmers vont faire leurs offrandes à la pagode des voyageurs, juste en face du Palais royal, que les diseuses de bonne aventure te prédisent un vague avenir, et que les familles se promènent sur les terre pleins .....
Massage ..... en général on te propose de smassages effectués par des aveugles, ce sot des massages assez durs .... je connais un endroit pas loin du Monument de l'Indépendance vraiment bien, j'essaye de te retrouver l'adresse exacte .....
Le Kulen c'est touristique à coup sûr, mais on y mange trés bien et le spectacle est de qualité ..... conclusion cela vaut vraiment la peine, c'est ( à mon avis ) le meilleur endroit où voir un spectacle de danses khmers ....
Aprés regarde mes carnets sur le Cambodge ( profil ), cela te donnera d'autres idées peut être .......
La notion de tarif , autre que pour les bus et les taxis meter n'existe pas, au cambodge...
Ensuite tu ne dis pas comment ...
Bon un ordre d'idée : un aller environ : 8000 riels avec un moto dop pour preak leap, le bac de preak leap (500 riels) et un autre moto dop pour traverser l'île
L'aller retour avec un seul moto dop : 8usd tout compris (il laisse 1 usd pour le bac) ... il y a un chauffeur qui cherche le client, sur Sisowath, au resto "On the corner", il est originaire de l'île, et donc la connait (ce qui est loin d'être le cas de beaucoup!), il est un peu francophone et porte en général un tee shirt welcome, in Koh Dach! Good luck!...
Pour la journée en tuk compter entre 20 et 25 usd ...L'aller simple, compter 15 usd ...
En taxi compter entre 30 et 35 , selon le nombre de personnes (valable aussi pour le tuk )
Bon, c'est les prix après négo ...
TON J-8 est aussi trop chargé ..;et le temps de bateau un peu sous estimé ...je ne vois pas la possibilité d'aller le même jour au village culturel , si c'est ce dont tu parles ...Ce n'est qu'un avis...of course!

ton itineraire me parret bien trouvé aussi tu as raison de prendre ton temps.
kep c'est vraiment l'ideal pour ce ressourcer, tu es au bord de mer, pas trop d'agitation et c'est a 5ou6h de bus de phnom penh.
je te conseil la verranda comme hotel c'est plein de charme chaqun a son bungalo tout en bois avec ta propre terrasse ton hamac et une belle vue sur la mer. c'est un petit peu en retrait de la route sur une colline. les prix sont +- 20et40$.
et tu es a deux pas du marché aux crabs, pour moi ce sont les meilleur fruit de mer que j'ai pu manger chaque stand a sa petite recette de "famille" pour preparer leurs crabs fraichement peche.
ce que je te conseil de faire c'est de louer une petite moto pour5$ la journée et tu es libre de tes mouvements sans devoir discuter a tout bout de chant avec les tuk tuk. tu peux meme aller jusque kampot c'est a 30min de route.
tu pourra y acheter le poivre vert de kampot qui est l'un des meilleur poivre au monde. pour ceux qui comme moi aime allier voyage et decouvertes culinaire c'est l'ideal. essai d'ailleur leur steak au poivre. ce n'est pas la meilleur viande qui soit mais rien que pour la sauce ca vaut le detour.😉
si tu veux je peux peut'etre te consseiller un tuk tuk super sympa sur Phnom penh, il fait bien son boulot et il ne demande pas trop chers. pour les hotels je ne sais pas quel est ton budget mais tu trouve un peu de tout de la guest house vraiment pourri au raffels royal qui est le plus luxueux hotel de la capitale.
cela fait plusieur année que je reviens sur PP, j'ai essaye le top banana c'est une petite guest house plus pour les routards, une petite terrasse commune ou tout le monde discute entre eux. sinon dans la meme tranche de prix il y a Dream Colors je l'ai decouvert cette année c'est une nouvelle guesthouse tenu par deux francophones super sympat. ils connaissent bien les environs.
D'ailleur ils m'ont consseille d'aller voir le psar oudong, c'est un temple a 1h en tuktuk (30min en moto) de PP c'est vraiment magnifique le temple est sur un mont tu le vois des km a la ronde c'est a voir.

Mais bon, tu as vu c'est pas facile de donner des conseils ou idées, tant est que chacun donne son idée propre et qu'il est persuadé de détenir l'exacte vérité ..... 😉 ce sera à toi de te faire ton expérience à la lecture de chacun ....
J'avais dit que je te donnerais l'adresse des massages ..... c'est face au restaurant Surin, endroit sympa aux larges terrasses bien aérées d'ailleurs pour un dîner, et ça s'appelle Sawadee Massage, j'aime bien ce salon où les masseuses sont trés efficaces et l'ambiance trés " asiatique " ....... en descendant le bd aprés le Monument de l'Indépendance, c'est sur la droite ..... demander le restaurant Surin .....

Pour Chisor et Bati fais comme tu veux, et pour le taxi traîne sur le Sisowath et tu trouveras une voiture facilement en discutant ......
Je l'ai fait, pour 60 usd de koh dach , il y a six semaines ...je te parle de l'aller retour ... DE PNH, 40 USD me semble un minimum ...pense plutot 50 usd avec Tonlé bati et à y être va jeter un oeil au phnom tamao ...Des droits d'entrée sont demandés partout, pour les barangs 2USD, si mes souvenirs sont bons.
Pour ce faire une idée globale (en l'absence de tarif ) il faut connaitre le nombre de klm environ, diviser le prix par deux, pour avoir un sextant 100 KLM = 50 USD...je parle là , pour des balades en bagnolle pour la journée...et non des trajets one way avec des taxis assurant une ligne interurbaine ... Là, c'est de la loc de voiture avec chauffeur.
Que vous soyez un deux ou plus dans la voiture ne change rien au prix de la journée , sur ce type de visites.
Dites moi, j'ai lu les derniers post sur le Bokor , et je m'inquiète un peu ...
Si l'on passe par un tour opérateur (comme sok lim par exemple), le moyen de transport ne nous amène pas jusqu'au bout ??
Vous confirmez qu'il faut absolument marcher 3 ou 4 heures à pied ?
Je vois dans ton itinéraire prévu, que tu penses rester un peu à PP ...
Je te propose de découvrir SUNFLOWER (www.sunflowerorphanage.org), un orphelinat d'enfants VIH/SIDA où je suis bénévole.
Il est possible de visiter le centre, de jouer avec les enfants et si tu le veux apporter un peu d'aide à cet orphelinat, qui en a vraiment besoin.
Achat de T-shirt ou Calendriers 2011 (qui peuvent être acheté en France en ce moment) ou apporter quelques cadeaux (fruits, riz, dentifrice, médicaments ...)

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We’re heading to Vietnam as a family on July 8th for a little over 3 weeks (north and center). We’ve only booked the first 3 nights in Hanoi, and nothing else after that. We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. 10/10: Flight SIN-YQB
Hi everyone,
My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.
I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us?
• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?
The idea is to know what to expect so we can prepare as best as possible. Thanks for your replies! !
