Hi there,

I’m planning a family trip from Miami to Atlanta in May.

Where should I stop along the route?

Which cities are the most interesting?

Thanks! !

Hi there,

I did a similar trip in the opposite direction. It really depends on how much time you have. I created this thread and we basically followed the original plan: https://voyageforum.com/v.f?post=5785436;a=5785436

I stopped in Crystal River (to see the manatees) because I’d already taken a few trips in Florida and knew the rest, but you could keep going along the Gulf all the way to Naples (or spend a few days in the Orlando parks), then Miami and the Everglades.

Hi there, An alternative to the Caussat route: the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina. Savannah and Charleston are definitely worth the detour.

Definitely an interesting alternative (I’ve done it on another trip) because these spots are gorgeous too. There’s generally less to see than on my route, but if time is limited, it’s an option worth considering—especially since coming from the east puts you on the way to St. Augustine, Daytona (which I haven’t visited), and especially Cape Canaveral. If you go this way, Beaufort is worth a stop for a couple of hours between Charleston and Savannah.
