Question about organizing a visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau

The best thing to do is book on the memorial's official website: https://visit.auschwitz.org/rezerwacja/termin.html?idg=1 Be aware that French-language tours, if those are the ones you're interested in, sell out *very* quickly.

The 3.5-hour tour is already very good and quite comprehensive. It starts at Auschwitz-I, then moves on to Birkenau. You can stay at Birkenau after the guided tour ends. It’s not automatically offered, but if you ask the guide (in our case, it was a female guide), you can stay (or rather, re-enter, since you have to exit first). That way, we were able to see parts we hadn’t covered with the guide. You can also enter Auschwitz-I without a guide and for free after a certain time, but you still need to book tickets. This section has exhibitions set up in the buildings that are easy to explore on your own. We did the guided tour (which was really interesting), stayed at Birkenau, and then went back to Auschwitz-I. I’d do the same again. We had a picnic nearby on some benches not too far away before heading back. There’s no food available on-site, and I don’t remember any restaurants right nearby. I think we brought a water bottle with us for the tour.

Hi there, I tried to book our tickets for Auschwitz on the official website, but it only shows dates up to April 17th (we’re planning to go at the end of June). I found other sites that let you book up to our dates, but they’re like travel agencies, and I’ve heard that the official site doesn’t guarantee entry if you go through a third party. I’m still on the fence about it
