Je suis anglaise/française, et je vis et travaille en Suisse, dans le canton de Vaud, depuis août 2005. J'ai eu un permis B pendant les 5 premières années et depuis j'ai un permis C. Depuis que je vis en Suisse, j'ai toujours travaillé et payé mes impôts.
Je souhaite démissionner de mon travail actuel (je suis enseignante et je voudrais alors m'arrêter à la fin de l'année scolaire, fin juin) mais je n'ai pas encore d'autre job en perspective. Mon but, bien entendu, est de retrouver du travail rapidement, si possible pour août/septembre afin d'avoir un petit arrêt pour l'été.
J'ai 2 questions: Si je démissionne, vais-je perdre mon permis C et alors mon droit de résider en Suisse? Mon permis C actuel est valable (délai de contrôle) jusqu'en octobre 2020, mais s'il est rattaché à mon job actuel, est-ce que je le perds en démissionnant vu que je n'ai pas encore trouvé d'autre job? Je souhaiterais demander la nationalité suisse d'ici peu, car j'y suis très bien intégrée. Je ne voudrais alors pas remettre en question cette futur démarche en démissionnant. Le fait de démissionner, aurait-il un impact sur une demande de naturalisation?Merci d'avance de vos conseils.

A mon avis, aucun soucis, c'est un permis qui vous donne quasiment les mêmes droits qu'à un Suisse, chômeur ou non... Même pas besoin de demander la nationalité suisse, mais pourquoi pas en effet, avant que l'UDC ne s'affole... 😉
Je vous remercie à tous les deux pour votre réponse rapide. Donc si j'ai bien compris, le permis C n'est pas rattaché à mon job. Si je démissionne, je garde quand même mon permis et mon droit de résider en CH jusqu'en 2020? Et en 2020, quand il s'agit de renouveler mon permis, là sans doute je dois prouver que j'ai un contrat de travail? J'ai du mal à croire que j'ai le droit à résider en CH pour une durée indéterminée sans pouvoir prouver que j'ai un emploi?
Autre sujet. J'ai 38 ans et cela fait plus de 10 ans que je suis enseignante en CH. Je suis chef de département et mon poste comprend alors une partie administrative (gestion de budget, commandes, attribution des cours, rédaction de PVs etc.) et management (gestion d'une équipe de 13 professeurs). Quant aux qualifications, j'ai un Bachelor et un Master (obtenus en Angleterre) ainsi qu'un diplôme en RH, également obtenu en Angleterre. Je suis bilingue français/anglais (double nationalité). Je souhaite arrêter d'enseigner et trouver un travail dans l'administration, mais sans trop de responsabilité. Je me suis énormément investie ces dernières années et maintenant je voudrais trouver un travail administratif sans trop de stress et peut-être à temps partiel. J'aimerais bien rester dans le secteur de l'éducation, et pensais alors que l'UNIL ou l'EPFL pourraient être intéressants. En regardant les annonces pour les postes administratifs, on demande souvent un CFC. A votre avis, avec mes qualifications et mon expérience, Est-ce qu'on considérerait ma candidature et aurais-je mes chances? Auriez-vous une idée du genre de salaire pour un poste de ce type?
Pour le permis C, voici ce qui est écrit sur le site de l'Etat de Genève :
PROLONGATION DU PERMIS D'ÉTABLISSEMENT
En principe, un avis d'échéance est envoyé par l'office, deux mois avant la fin de validité du permis. Se conformer aux instructions données.
Dans le canton de Genève, l'Etat éditait, je ne sais pas si cela se fait encore, un "bulletin des places vacantes". Dans cette liste, il était mentionné la classe de salaire de chaque emploi. Fort de cela, on trouve également la grille tarifaire des salaires de l'Etat de Genève sur internet...
Je ne sais pas ce qui se fait dans le canton de Vaud en revanche.
Pour le CFC, je pense que c'est un minimum. Si l'on présente un diplôme supérieur à cela, ce ne peut être que mieux. L'expérience et les certificats de travail compteront aussi pour beaucoup...
Il est bien précisé qu'il n'y a pas de conditions. J'ai aussi trouvé un article qui disait que les bénéficiaires de l'aide sociale devaient se munir des documents à ce propos, mais il n'était pas mentionné qu'on ne leur renouvellerait pas le permis, en tout cas en l'état actuel des choses.
Le plus simple pour vous serait peut être de faire dès que possible la demande de passeport suisse.
le fait de ne pas avoir de travail n'influencera en aucune façon le renouvellement de ton permis C (ça n'est pas lié) et ne devrait pas affecter non plus une demande de naturalisation. Dans le pire des cas, ça pourrait repousser le moment où tu pourrais déposer ta demande, mais cela n'est même pas sûr. Dans le doute, tu pourrais entamer les démarches maintenant, de toute façon cela prendra un certain temps.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
