Jusque la, pas très original ...
nous sommes une jeune famille avec 2 enfants. Ayant assez de la vie en métropole, nous avons décider de vendre nos biens et de changer radicalement de mode de vie.
notre projet "orignal" consiste a vouloir devenir propriétaire d'un bateau afin d'y vivre à bord, mais également d'investir dans un second, afin d'en faire une activité touristique (location pour week end, séjour, promenades ...)
hormis les formalités concernant les formations pour la navigation, nous aimerions savoir l'avis de gens concernés par ce secteur d'activité (tourisme, et tourisme sur mer)
y a t il de la demande pour ce genre de prestations ?
la vie autour du cailloux sur un bateau est elle franchement réalisable ?
comment ce secteur d'activité est il developpé en NC ? La demande est elle suffisante et l'offre n'est elle pas supérieure ?

Je ne suis pas une pro des loisirs en mer, mais je sais que plein de gens ici habitent sur leur bateau.
Le conseil que je donne toujours, c'est de ne jamais partir à l'aveuglette, toujours venir et voir sur place.
Il exsiste deux ports à nouméa ou tu peux rester en "vie à bord" (tape sur le net port moselle nouvelle calédonie) et tu auras les renseignements pour avoir la place sur un ponton les prix les conditions ....(attention liste d'attente)
En fait tu veux faire du Chartèr en bateau, il en exsite surtout en catamaran (plus de place et tir en d'eau interressant) par contre les prix à l'achat rien a voir avec un monocoque !
La vie autour de la calédonie question port, bof ! les gens partent plutôt vers l'île des pins, lifou, Maré, ouvéa un peu moins et également vers le Vanuatu .
Franchement vivre de cela j'ai un doute !! quand tu enlèves les frais de port, et ne pas oublier les sorties loin d'un port non conseillé en période cyclonique (nous sommes dedans!)
n'hésite pas ! mais comme dit lilas il vaut mieux venir en repérage avant le grand saut !!😉

il me semble que le permis cotier ( moins de 6 miles des cotes ) n'est pas encore obligatoire à Nouméa, sauf si ton intention est de faire une activité liée au tourisme et à la mer, ou là évidemment il te faudra un minimum de "papier".
A mon avis tu devrais passer ton permis hauturier ( sup à 6 miles des cotes ) en France. j'imagine qu'à Néa, les sessions doivent être relativement chères et espacées si pas beaucoup d'inscrits.
Vivre sur un bateau reste quelque chose de spéciale et il vaut mieux connaitre, et la mer et les contraintes dues à l'entretien d'un bateau ou voilier, et la vie "spartiate" ds un espace relativement exigue, sauf si tu optes évidemment pour un 40 pieds !!
Ensuite gare aux cyclones et aux "coups d'ouest" !!

Ici, le tiers de la population vit sur un bateau, le deuxième tiers possède un bateau pour y passer les week-end et le dernier tiers connais toujours quelqu'un des deux premiers tiers.

alors cette reponse me convien tres bien... tant mieux qu'autant de gens vivent dans ces conditions.... dans ce cas, le marché de la vente d'occasion doit certainement etre au top et toute les facilité pour y vivre doivent etre facilement trouvable..... c'est tres bien ainsi.....
enfin en meme temps, quand je disais projet original.....c'etait dans un premier temps pour ne pas repeter pour la XXXXXXXeme fois les memes questions concernant les logements.... comme la quasi totalité des post qui sont sur ce forum....

Essayant d'etre objectif comme je le répète assez souvent, je ramène ce "tiers" à tout au + quelques centaines de couples.
Je veux bien croire que les loyers soient chers et meme très chers à Néa mais de là à mettre près de 100 000 personnes sur des bateaux....
Effectivement ta question ou ta réflexion n'est pas très courante, encore faut il que des gens vivants ou au moins cotoyants des personnes qui vivent sur leur bateaux te répondent, sinon tu auras droit à un peu de tout et n'importe quoi.

sache que d'une façon générale, toutes les activités liées au tourisme ne sont pas facile car il y n'a " que " 100 à 120 000 touristes annuel en NC, contre plusieurs centaines de milliers voir millions dans d'autres iles, aux antilles ou en Méditerranée.
si tu ramènes ce chiffre au quotidien, ça donne environ 300 touristes/jour dispersés sur tout le territoire, donc en final un potentiel tès réduit pour faire prospérer une activité.
Ceci étant écrit, je n'y connais pas grand chose et même rien du tout dans ce domaine.
arrêtez de rêver
La vie sur un bateau dans un port à Nouméa devient de plus en plus difficile et d'ailleurs seul port Moselle accepte encore "la vie à bord".
Notamment Port Sud, port Brunelet, port Plaisance n'accepte plus de nouveau candidat à "la vie à bord"(perso je viens d'acheter une place de port et il a été mentionné dans mon contrat d'amodiation que la vie à bord n'était plus autorisée)
Les directions des différents ports évoquent des mesures de sécurité(voir la dernière explosion d'une bonbonne de gaz la semaine dernière) mais aussi combattent les locations de bateaux ventouses qui souvent ne peuvent plus naviguer et mettent ainsi la vie des autres en danger en cas de problèmes et notamment de cyclone.
Attention il est toujours possible de vivre au mouillage, mais avec des enfants c'est très difficile, en cas de cyclone gros problème en prévision.
D'autre part les ports en dehors de Nouméa sont assez rares(3 ou 4), et les abris aussi.
Contrairement à ce qui a été dit plus haut, les bateaux permettant de vivre à bord en bon état sont rares et très chers, souvent des tourdumondistes qui s'arrêtent là et vendent leur bateau pour une vie plus confortable à terre.
L'offre de location de bateau avec ou sans skipper est déjà plus que suffisante(il n'y a que 100 000 touristes par an qui ne restent en moyenne que 12 jours et il y a tellement de chose à voir que ce déplacer en voilier est trop long).
UN BON CONSEIL, rendez-vous d'abord sur place pour éviter les désillusions de cette vie paradisiaque qui peut rapidement tourner au cauchemar si elle n'a pas été préparée (vous allez vous trouver à 20 000milles kilomètres de votre base, pensez y)
Je peux vous paraître pessimiste, mais je veux vous éviter de rejoindre le clan des déçus qui ensuite dénigrent ce si beau caillou car ils n'ont pu si adapter faute de préparation.

Tu as raison je pense, sur le fait qu'il faut se rendre sur place. Et puis ... au moins, avec ton message, on part avec bcp d'étoiles dans les yeux, la chute de la déception sera moins dure lol
vous y apprendrez la réglementation de la vie à bord et de la navigation des bateaux dans le lagon, (attention zone très protégé car le plus grand du monde et le moins abîmé).

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
