nous sommes une famille de 5 pers + 2 chiens qui souhaiterait s'installer au senegal ( restaurateur de metier en Lorraine , envie de tout plaquer pour partir à l'aventure pour changer de vie de culture, de climat ...) mais nous n'y conaissons rien au pays.
Nous avons prevu un voyage sur place pour prendre la temperature voir si le pays nous plait, pour l'acquisition d'une maison etc ...
mais nous souhaiterions avoir des conseils
Vous qui vivez deja sur place , comment avez vous fait ( pour vous installer , vous integrer ? vous plaisez vous ?
pour le boulot est il facile a trouver sur place?
y a t'il des lycées car j'ai un ado de 15 ans
et surtout 2 chiens est ce bien accepter au pays?
Au niveau des villes , laquelle serait la mieux pour y vivre ?

c'est des reponses dont j'ai besoin, je connais le senegal pour mettre informé et voyager , entre y aller pour faire un voyage et y habiter il y a un fossé ....
et pis c'est sa l'aventure non 😎
Ensuite, pour s'installer, c'est facile, une maison, quelques papiers, la preuve que vous avez assez de ressources pour vivre ou un contrat de travail.
Les chiens ne sont pas trop appréciés, les gens en ont peur, mais ça vous évitera certains "amis"!
Maintenant, le reste vous appartient.
Pour la ville, l'enseignement n'est présent presque qu'à Dakar. Il y a un lycée français, seulement, il faut que vos enfants aiment les études, car après le bac, il faut qu'ils continuent des études, ou rentrent en France. De toutes façons, il faut qu'ils fassent leurs études supérieures en France, car bien que le niveau de certaines écoles sénégalaises soit bon, les diplômes ont de la peine à être reconnus! http://www.lyceemermozdakar.org/
Pour le travail, en tant que blanc vous ne devriez avoir aucun problème. Attention toutefois, si vous voulez vous mettre à votre compte, il faut d'abord bien cerner la vie, car les choses qui "marches" ne sont pas du tout les mêmes.

Pffff... Pourquoi répondre de la sorte ! Je pense que tout désir de découverte est souvent ponctué d'inconscience mesurée plus ou moins au départ ?
Rappelez-vous... N'avez vous pas demandé conseil avant de partir la première fois, même s'il s'agissait que d'une découverte pour un temps donné ?
Ne prenez pas ma remarque comme celle d'un "donneur de conseils" mais parfois je réagis un peu trop vite quand je découvre des réponses qui ne font vraiment pas avancer les choses, surtout de la part de très grands voyageurs comme vous !... Quant aux apartés entre copains il y a les MP qui font l'affaire.

Outre l'éternelle réponse qui reste que trop d'actualité ici "vivez quelque temps sur place pour vous rendre compte" et ensuite faites votre choix, je comprends aussi qu'avec un enfant ce ne soit pas évident de faire des "essais" mais un retour en catastrophe est encore pire.
Je pense que c'est bien de s'appuyer sur les conseils d'autres (et j'en vois de forts bons ci-dessus, inclus les aides proposées par nos deux amis sénégalais)
Avant de vous expatrier, imaginez un vrai "projet de vie" si ce n'est pas fait et sur place vous l'adapterez aux circonstances rencontrées lors de vos premiers déplacements. Le temps à réfléchir et à consulter vous évitera beaucoup de déboires et vous en fera gagner beaucoup.
Il y a une communauté française importante au sud de Dakar (et aussi ailleurs) qui pourra vous aider au cas où (Saly, La Somone, etc... voir sur Google qui regorge d'infos pour se faire un juste avis) mais elle sera peut-être dans une recherche différente de la votre.
Dans un premier temps vous pouvez louer là-bas quelque chose en ensuite vous irez vers vos attirances, parfois le coeur de l'Afrique réserve de belles surprises si vous laissez une partie de votre culture au fond de la poche pour écouter et en comprendre une autre.
N'oubliez pas également le Mali ou le Burkina Faso que je connais bien et où je serai plus à l'aise dans mes réponses et qui sont de merveilleux pays d'accueil.

ayant passé l'hiver dernier à Bamako, je vois mal une famille débarquer au Mali, "comme ça"... Le logement à la française va déja couter un max, la circulation et la pollution effrayer des gens qui veulent changer de vie...
enfin, ce que j'en dis... je suis rentré en espérant trouver un autre plan...

Mon mari et moi avons quitté la France il y a un an maintenant....en voilier...objectif : le tour du monde le plus lentement 😎et agréablement possible !....je suis infirmiere😇 et en février nous arriverons à Dakar...j'espère pouvoir excercer ....aider...à voir ! je fais confiance aux rencontres et trouverais surement "les contacts" qui vont bien sur place !😕

Oui, oui, effectivement j'ai très bien lu la question et que ce soit le Mali, Burkina ou Sénégal je ne vois pas où est la différence ! Sauf que la vie au Sénégal est un peu plus élevé.
Quand on souhaite s'expatrier en Afrique vouloir vivre "à la française" pour reprendre ton expression sans revenu d'expa, c'est l'échec assuré ce qui semble t'être arrivé puisque tu cherches "un nouveau plan" me semble-t-il ? Ce qui confirme ma pensée.
Une ville comme Ségou au Mali qui est au bord du fleuve et très agréable, peut être une excellente solution les coûts sont plus faibles que dans les grandes métropoles (loyer, construction, nourriture...etc). Je connais des européens là-bas qui se débrouillent très très bien entre autre dans de belles activités toutistiques.
Je n'ai jamais parlé de Bamako encore moins de "débarquer" ! Regarde attentivement ma réponse...
vous avez l'idée qui me trotte dans la tete, depuis mes retours de voyages au sénégal. je connais la région de la casamance, j'ai meme achetée un terrain là bas, j'y repars fin janvier, début février. Pour la scolarité, il y a une école française à zinghinchor, ou voulez vous aller exactement. A Kafountine, j'ai rencontré des couples français installé là bas, il est vrai que pour nous il y a un temps d'adaptation, j'ai eu la chance d'arriver dans ce village, en étant l'amie d'une sénégalaise de Kafountine, habitant dans mon village français, mon réve, monter une structure touristique ou artisanale, et faire des allers retours, pour l'instant.
Chacun d'entre nous souhaite trouver son petit coin de paradis, son eldorado, le dépaysement, le changement du train train de la vie quotidienne, etc, etc.
Aller au Sénégal, pourquoi pas?
Mais avant de tout lâcher et de partir à l'Aventure (avec un grand A, car c'en est une); je te suggère d'abord d'y aller quelques temps et de te faire une idée, de peser les avantages et surtout les inconvénients.
S'y installer, y travailler pour vivre décemment (je ne parle pas de luxe) n'est certainement pas aussi évident que peuvent le faire croire certains ou les cartes postales idylliques que l'on s'en fait.
Partir au déboté, comme vous pensez le faire revient à foncer droit le mur, l'accélérateur pied au plancher, et j'en prends le pari.
Une expatriation, et quel que soit le pays, se prépare. Et se prépare d'autant plus quand on ne connait pas le pays et qu'on n'y a jamais mis les pieds.

bjr je rentre d'un sejour de 4 mois au Senegal et je viens de lire votre envie de vous instaler la bas Tout d'abord vous allez vous heuter a des administrations style je mets trois mois a repondre et vous allez vous trouvez devant une multitude de service qui donne leur autorisation A saly niakh niakhal j'ai fait la connaissance d'un couple de Girodin qui au bout de plus d'une annee n'avait pas ses papiers cela pour une ouverture d'ub restaurant alors soyez prudent et bonne chance ce pays n'est loin s'en faut tres moderne dans ses institutions trop de magouilles et de passe droit
tt est possible mais il ne faut pas croire que c est facile les gens qui me disent que la vie n est pas chere et que l on peux construire une maison pour pas grand chose ne viennent que pour les vacances car il faut bien se dire que lorsque l on vit sur place en tant que europeen certaines choses ns manque ....le riz au poisson ne dure qu un temps ....donc avant de changer de vie il faut venir voir et bien reflechir

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
