Je vais m'installer à Cayenne pour un stage de 6 mois à partir de Mars 2008 et j'aimerais bien avoir quelques informations pratiques avant de partir et pourquoi pas faire dès à présent la connaissance de personnes étant déjà là bas afin d'éviter d'arriver et de me retrouver tout seul....
Je suis un garçon de 25 ans (arrivant de Lyon) plutôt ouvert donc n'hésitez pas à me contacter. Ça serait bien cool

Qu'est ce que tu souhaites savoir sur la Guyane plus exactement? Ce qu'il faut mettre dans ton sac??? Tout dépend ce que tu aimes. Perso, je te conseille des chaussures de rando, lampe frontale, matos de bivouac, bref des trucs de rando de base. Ici il y a beaucoup de sentiers de randonnées balisés. Possibilité également de faire du canoë sur des criques (les criques sont des cours d'eau en foret). Prévoir crème solaire aussi même si dès avril c'est la saison des pluies qui s'installe, ça laisse quand même pas mal de jours ensoleillés.
Ensuite pour rencontrer du monde, te fais pas de soucis, la Guyane est un petit monde et à cette saison, il y aura de nombreux stagiaires. Sans compter les Volontaires Civil à l'Aide Technique.
Tu viens faire un stage dans quelle boite/organisme??

Je viens faire un stage de 6 mois dans l'entreprise Colas (BTP, routes...). Je vais pas travailler directement sur le terrain, je suis plutôt du genre gratte papiers en fait... même si je serais amener à me déplacer sur les chantiers.
Au niveau du matériel de rando, j'ai lu sur de nombreux forums qu'il y'avait des chouettes balades à faire, mais ici je n'ai rien, je pense que je me fournirais sur place, ça m'évitera de trop me charger dès le départ.
Je me demandais plutôt si ça allait être facile de rencontrer des gens de mon age (20 > 30 ou même +), histoire de voir du monde et de pas me retrouver seul le weekend, car 6 mois tout seul, ça peut faire long...
Voila, en tous cas ta réponse me rassure déjà un peu.
Au niveau des saisons, ça se passe comment ? La saison des pluies dure combien de temps ?

je suis sur lyon également et m'aprète a partir en guyane aux alentour du 20 janvier pour y travailler en tant qu'infirmière, pour une durée d'environ un an suivant comment ca se passe.

Pour trouver un logement, une voiture, des meubles et tout ce qu'il faut, une seule adresse en Guyane: les petites annonces de www.blada.com.
Pour le matos de rando, je conseille quand même d'acheter un minimum en métropole(carrément moins cher). Par contre oublié le petit Futé, il est pas super. Ici, il y a un bouquin pas mal avec 30 ballades en Guyane, avec une foultitude d'info et de commentaires. Ce que vous pourrez acheter sur place par contre c'est le hamac et la moustiquaire, éléments indispensables du bivouc en foret, ainsi que la machette, très utile pour couper du bois et faire du feu (et non pas pour s'extraire de la jungle inextricable 😉).
J'oubliais: concernant la saison des pluies, c'est pas la mort! Ce qui est gênant, c'est qu'il peut y avoir une grosse averse d'un coup alors que 15 minutes avant il faisait un grand soleil. Et quand on se déplace en vélo, c'est pas cool... Puis les ballades en foret sont boueuses, mais ça a son charme!

Euh...Ne t'inquiète pas trop...La Guyane reste la France sur bien des points, il n'y a pas (les trois quarts du temps) la barrière de la langue, et c'est un département particulièrement jeune...
Donc pour peu que tu sois ouvert, à priori, si tu passes tes soirées seul, c'est que tu ne te débrouilles pas super bien 😉

Tu sais, c'est comme toute installation: parfois, il faut un peu de temps pour connaître du monde...mais ça vient...Profite de toutes les opportunités, et tout se passera bien (surtout si tu viens en stage, on va sûrement te guider au début...)
Bon séjour en tout cas...Tu verras, la guyane, on adore ou on déteste, mais ça ne laisse pas indifférent...
Moi aussi je pars en stage de fin d'études en Mars en Guyane.
On sera peut-être amené à se rencontrer là-bas puisqu'on va bosser dans le même secteur sauf que moi je serais très souvent sur le terrain (fondations et géotechnique).

Moi aussi, je me suis dis que 6mois à 7000km de la métropole ça allait être dur, mais la vie culturelle et sociale en guyane à l'air sympa (carnaval...) donc je pense qu'on a vraiment pas à s'inquiéter.
Si tu veux faire des rando, je te conseille comme même d'acheter en métropole le max d'affaires pcq sur place c'est plus cher.

C'est clair que ça risque d'être une belle expérience d'être là bas pendant 6 mois. Je ne connais pas du tout la Guyane donc ça sera "totale découverte". En ce qui concerne le matériel de rando, je suis assez limité niveau bagages, donc tant pis si j'paye plus cher là bas, j'économiserais peut être en excédent de bagage.

Bon, clairement, il y a certains quartiers de Cayenne à éviter, à moins d'y connaître du monde...La Crique (Chicago) fait parti de ceux-là, et je n'y irais pas personnellement le jour non plus, à moins d'être accompagnée...Il y a aussi beaucoup de crackés au centre.
Néanmoins, je vis sur Kourou, où l'insécurité par quartier est quand même moins grande (presque pas de crackés dans la rue, par exemple) ...Je ne suis donc pas celle qui te donnera les conseils les plus avisés...
Essaie de voir avec les contacts que tu auras sans doute en arrivant, par ton stage...

Moi je vais travailler pour l'entreprise Safor. Ils font principalement des fondations (pieux, micropieux, forages...). Je serais en charge d'organiser et de planifier le travail des ouvriers sur les chantiers, de rédiger les suivis de chantier et tous les documents préalables.
Le bureau est situé à Macouria, juste au Nord de Cayenne mais il faut que je prévois 100 à 130km de déplacements par jour pour me rendre sur les chantiers. Donc je vais voir du pays....
Et toi tu vas faire quoi chez Colas? C'est aussi pour un stage de fin d'études?
Pour la date de départ, je la connais pas encore mais je pense que ça sera aux alentours du 7 ou 8 Mars.
J'ai une ptite question pratique. A part la fièvre jaune, tu t'es fait vacciné contre quoi d'autres? hépatiteA, B, fièvre typhoïde, palu? J'ai RDV la semaine prochaine pour faire la fièvre jaune et vu que je suis phobique des piqûres j'appréhende la liste que va me dire le médecin.... 😕

Salut, alors pour les vaccins, perso j'avais déja fait l'an dernier le vaccin qui regroupe typhoide et hépatite a, cette année j'ai fait la fièvre jaune. Si t'es à jour pour le reste tu devrais avoir au maximum deux petites piqures à faire. Il parait que le vaccin contre la fièvre jaune fait parfois un peu mal sous quelques jours... moi ça m'a rien fait.
Pour le palu, le vaccin n'existe pas, donc t'auras des cachets à prendre selon les zones dans lesquelles tu iras.
Au niveau de mon boulot là bas, je dois en fait, faire une rationalisation des procédures financières sur 5 centre de profit. Je sais que j'aurais une voiture pour les déplacements également, mais je sais pas la distance entre les sites. C'est aussi pour un stage de fin d'études, j'pense que ça risque d'être bien sympa. On se croisera peut être sur l'une des routes guyannaise :)
