Pensez vous que nous pouvons organiser ce voyage en taxi ? et a votre avis quel en serait le prix?
sinon nous prendrons le bus local bien sur mais pas les minivans VIP car ils me font trop peur!
J’imagine que vous avez-vous déjà fait le voyage avec ce Bus . Combien de temps faut-il pour faire le trajet ?? Chumphon Ranong ??? Si je vous dis 3 h ? Je suis pas loin de la réalité ?

À mon avis le bus ne devrait pas mettre plus de 3 heures
Il s’agit bien d’un trajet d’environs 3 heures dans ce bus confortable, et oui j’ai déjà pris cette route plusieurs fois en bus,
Les minibus entre Chumpon et Ranong sont plus fréquents et moins confortables, cependant selon l’heure à laquelle on arrive, s’impose parfois le choix de loger à chumpon ou de faire le trajet en van
A chumpon il y a plusieurs hôtels situés à distance de marche des gares routière et ferroviaire: PARADORN, SURIWONG, par exemple. Les chambres du suriwong sont bruyantes au rdc, du à la proximité d’une boîte de nuit.
A Ranong, si vous devez loger, il y a dans la rue principale, plusieurs hôtel de style Thai-chinois.
Cependant je recommande PALMY HOME, propre, calme et économique.
Depuis la gare routière, un songthaew à 15 voire 20 baht vous y emmènera.
Plusieurs Post du forum parle des îles à proximité de Ranong: Koh Phayam et Koh Chang.
Si Koh Phayam a été décrite longuement, Koh Chang vaut vraiment le détour, il faut juste un peu lire, pour comprendre à quoi s’attendre.
Moi non plus, j’y arrive sans réservation la plupart du temps et parfois téléphone.
Au pire il y’a d’autres logements à 5-10 Minutes de marche, mais je n’ai jamais eu à le faire.

En mars 2017, du centre ville de Chumpon, je n'avais pas trouvé autre chose que des minivans pour se rendre de Chumpon à Ranong. Et l'office de tourisme officiel du centre ville ne m'avait rien indiqué...😕

Si c'est le cas, (?) il s'agit d'un départ de bus du centre ville de Chumpon, ce qui est très très intéressant, et pas d'un départ de la gare routière de Chumpon ("Bus Terminal") qui est à l’extérieur de la ville.
(La gare routière « Bus Terminal » de Chumpon est à 13 km à l’extérieur du centre ville... 😕 Des minibus font la liaison entre une « gare routière du centre ville » et la gare routière « Bus Terminal » à 13km à l’extérieur, toutes les 45mminutes pour 40THB. Cette gare des minibus du « centre ville », est dans le pâté de maison en face de Salsa Hotel, après la station service PT et à 200m de Ocean Department store, et sur la carte ci dessous près de Chumpon Night Marquet. Elle est clairement indiquée sur les cartes du logiciel de repérage gratuit « Mapsme », contrairement aux cartes touristiques papiers. (Coordonnées GPS : 10.500222, 99.179923).
(Sinon il y a aussi des motos taxis de la gare ferroviaire pour le Bus Terminal, mais ils se sont ligués pour tous demander 300THB pour s'y rendre !! )

Je confirme à Ranong, Palmy Home est très bien, et bien situé. Il y a aussi Casa Theresa que j'aime bien pour leurs chambres avec cuisines dans un jardin à la Balinaise.

JF23, je me rappelle t’avoir lu, très précis et détaillé. Dernièrement concernant les Liaisons BKK RANONG en bus de nuit.
Concernant ta question, oui il s’agit bien de ce lieu, en centre ville, en face du marché local. Il est bien marqué CHOKE ANAN, sur la devanture du bureau de réservation. Pourtant, souvent le bus est au logo RUNGKIT TOUR (WiFi à l’intérieur du véhicule, la plupart du temps).

Ranong:
Avec mon épouse, nous avons aimé Ranong pour elle meme, sa quiétude. 🙂 C'est une ville paisible, thaïlandaise, mais sa population est birmane à plus de 60%. Il y a des sources chaudes plutôt agréables 🙂, et aussi une sorte de "Marché" de rue "Walking Street" très sympat, en ce moment tous les samedis soirs du 19 decembre au 9 avril (dates pour 2015/2016, cela change chaque année) où la route principale du centre ville est coupée à la circulation, et devient réservée aux piétons avec de très nombreux food stalls, stands divers, etc. Des thais y vont de toute la région.
A Ranong, il y a aussi de nombreux restos et bars originaux, très variés... 🙂 En 2011, nous avions rencontré un couple allemand avec enfant de 2ans qui prévoyait d'y rester 6 mois !
Le marché de rue "Walking Street" a lieu tous les samedis soir, de décembre à avril sur environ 600 à 800m. Je l'ai indiquée ci dessous sous forme d'itinéraire .

Bon plan pour se loger à Chumphon : Euro boutique hôtel à 10 minutes à pieds de la gare. Prix : 15 à 18.- euros la nuit pour 2.
Chambre propre, calme (à part un coq matinal), balcon, ascenseur, petit déjeuner compris.

puis direction ko payam, via chumpton, a la vue du post, j'ai bien envie d'y aller aussi, et quand nous voyons le restau de ranong, j 'ai déjà faim et il est plus que certain que nous irons.
bref il nous faudra faire un choix car nous n 'avons que 14 jours dans le coin avant le retour.

Il y a vraiment beaucoup de restos et de bars sympas à Ranong. La seule chose de cette ville que je regrette c'est qu'il n'y a pas (beaucoup /du tout ?) de vrais taxis avec Meter mais surtout que des motos taxis qui vous assassinent comme touriste... Cela a t-il changé ?
Bon il y a des songthaews fréquents qui couvrent bien la ville mais le soir ils sont beaucoup plus rares...

Merci pour cette superbe vidéo 🙂 Je te rejoins à propos de Chumpon 😉 nous avons trouvé cette ville pas désagréable du tout, et effectivement il y a des choses à voir aux alentours (un autre français nous a vanté ses plages...)
Nous y repasserons car sa situation géographique, sa gare ferroviaire en centre ville... , en font un point stratégique pratique pour rayonner d'est en ouest, du nord au sud... etc Et pour Isabelle, pour rejoindre ou venir de Ban Khrut par le train, 😉
Oui j'espère que Thera a de bons plans d'hotels à nous proposer.😉
Pas loin de la gare ferroviaire, comme Djay1212 nous avons préféré le Suriwong Hotel (125/30 Saladaeng rd) à 5min à pieds de la gare ferroviaire (350m); préférer les chambres coté nord aux étages supérieurs, (420THB). Après visite d'autres hotels du coin, le Jansom Plaza Chumpon hotel nous a paru pas mal du tout également.

Gros Bus VIP Chumpon-Hat Yai
Il existe de gros bus VIP qui font Chumpon -Hat Yai 4 fois par jour pour 355THB (Depart 8h30 9h30 11h30 21h00 durée 7h30). Le départ de ces bus est à coté du Amazonas Cofee&Tea (rue Nawaminruanja) qui est à 150m de la gare ferroviaire en sortant sur la droite. L'office de cette compagnie de bus est presque à coté du départ de ces gros bus.

Ma derniere visite date d'il y a 4 ans et j'etais en voiture de location ...donc je ne suis pas le mieux placé pour repondre concernant les transports en communs.
Par contre je suis preneur car j'y retourne avec cette fois les transports en communs.
Merci... Mais le souci pour visiter les alentours de Chumphon, c'est l'absence de transport en commun... Pas simple... Si vous n'avez pas de voiture ou un 2 roues ( le mieux.. ) c'est galère..
@accolade . Alors pour les ''bons plans'' c'est toujours difficile de répondre a ce genre de question surtout quand on y habite car on n'est pas forcement intéressé par ces derniers... D'autre part, qu'est-ce qu'un bon plan???? pas forcement la même signification pour tout le monde.... Du ''pas cher'' ? Alors là sans problème dans les environs a 400 bahts on trouve, mais il faudra, un peu comme partout, se contenter d'un confort et/ou d'une déco un peu sommaires..
Il y a aussi des homestays ou des maisons un peu plus ''luxueuses'' avec des services.
Au choix..
MAPS.ME : L'an dernier en Thaïlande, une voyageuse m'a fait découvrir MAPS.ME le logiciel de repérage gratuit qui fonctionne hors réseau, et j'avoue que ce fut une révolution, réellement un « plus » pour se repérer en ville, à la campagne, n'importe où, et pour trouver ce que l'on cherche... 🙂 🙂
On arrive à un endroit inconnu, MAPSME nous indique exactement où l'on est sur la carte et la distance, le chemin pour aller à l'endroit que l'on cherche... Mieux on suit notre progression sur la carte, les éventuels erreurs de direction... En bus, en train, on peut suivre la progression du véhicule sur sa route, et ainsi être sûr de ne pas manquer son arrêt.
MAPSME fonctionne uniquement avec le GPS du téléphone, sans connexion réseau, sans consommation de données mobiles, sans abonnement à un opérateur, et est entièrement gratuit. Avant le départ, ou avec le wifi de l’hôtel, on télécharge la carte dont on a besoin (gratuit), 3 cartes pour la toute la Thaïlande, et c'est tout ce dont on a besoin.
Bon c'est un peu hors sujet, et sans doute beaucoup d'entre vous connaissaient déjà ce logiciel depuis longtemps, 😛 je vous demande d'etre indulgent, 😉mais ce fut pour moi une telle révolution/simplification pour me diriger en ville, en vélo, … que je le partage. Maintenant on n'a plus d'excuse pour se perdre...😉 😊

Nous avons fait Chumpon-Surat Thani en train je ne sais pas si dans ce sens cela t'interesse;
Express de Chumpon à 5h59AM (100THB) gateau compris offert dans le train. Arrivé à 8h15 à la "gare ferroviaire de SuratThani" qui est très loin de la ville et pas vraiment à SuratThani, un gros vieux bus rouge part juste après en sortant de la gare sur la gauche. Il nous mene au centre ville de Surat Thani en 30minutes (15THB) à Talad Kaset1 ("Bus station downtown") après etre passé par la grande gare routière ("Bus Terminal") exterieur de Sura Thani.
Voila un autre moyen de faire Surathani -Ranong, avec un stop à Chumpon, mais en direct, selon Travelfish il n'y a que des minivans, et j'ai rien trouvé non plus ni sur busonline, ni sur easybook... 😐

Mes infos datents un peu. Plusieurs fois le trajet aller retour mais en van depuis la gare routiere de surat en ville. Un par jour et il part quand il est plein :). superbe route dès lang suan pour le passage a l ouest. Pas de bus. ++
J étais juste partie prendre un taxi de la gare mais avec toutes ces adresses de restaurants je vais prendre le bus et me ruiner ☺️en restau

😉 de toutes façons je ne me souviens pas avoir vu un seul vrai taxi (voiture) à Chumpon, mais uniquement des motos taxis un peu chers (qui nous demandaient 300THB par personne et par voyage pour aller à la gare routière Bus Terminal !! contre 40 THB pour le petit bus collectif de la gare routière du centre ville précédemment mentionnée page1.)
Pourtant il doit y en avoir, des taxis (voitures) mais ils sont vraiment rares... ! Thera pourra nous en dire plus 😉
BanKrut-Chumpon en train:
De BanKrut on peut acheter à l'avance les billet pour l'Express (300THB, 1h10) mais pas ceux de l'Ordinary (23THB, 1h45) qui sont vendus un peu avant le départ à la gare. En prenant l'Ordinary nous sommes arrivés à Chumpon à 17h00.

L'an dernier, je me suis rendue à cette plage en tuk tuk; Je venais de Ranong en bus qui nous a déposés en plein centre de Chumphon et là il y avait UN tuk tuk qui attendait. Vu la concurrence, on a pas eu le choix mais bien contents de le trouver ! Je ne me souviens plus du prix mais c'était raisonnable.

Un songthaew te conduira jusque Thung Wualen, pour une somme modique dont j’ai oublié le montant exact.
Les motos taxis connaissent, si en cas tu en prenait un depuis la gare ferroviaire
Thung Wualen, il y plusieurs options d’hébergements. Le premier sur la gauche, avec une dame âgée comme réceptionniste est une bonne’ option économique.
Il peut être intéressant de loger à Chumpon et d’aller parfois a cette plage.
À plusieurs reprises, j’ai été incommodé par les mouches des sables. Aussi j’ai trouvé le rapport qualité/prix des resorts plutôt désavantageux.

Nous avons trouvé le bus pour ranong grace à vos infos départ demain matin merci
Pour le retour nous avons prévu même compagnie ranong bangkok.
Départ 20h 20 de ranong, arrivee au petit matin 5h pouvez vous me dire ou nous arriverons à bbk, la gare routière me semble loin du centre... j ai pas envie de galèrer le dernier jour

Il y a 3 compagnies de gros VIP qui font Ranong-Bangkok, (New Mitr, Choke Anan, et X), tous les bus des 3 compagnies passent par la gare routière sud de Bangkok, Sai Tai Mai Southern Bus Terminal, et la plupart des bus de ces compagnies (les 24places, les 38places, ...) ont pour terminus Sai Tai Mai Southern Bus Terminal.
Cependant, pour le bus 32places de la compagnie New Mitr Tour, ce bus après être passé par la gare routière sud de Bangkok, après avoir déposé une partie de ses passagers, repart et a pour terminus le centre de Bangkok à l'office de la compagnie au 365/6 Phra Sumen Road, à cet endroit sur google map sur le lien ci dessous (Dans la photo, cadre gauche haut, on peut voir le gros bus 32 places stationné dans une ruelle juste à coté des bureaux de la compagnie):

Ce lieu (bureau, arrivé et départ du Bus 32places de la compagnie New Mitr tour), est à 550m à pied de Khaosan road, ou de tel autre quartier ...
Pour la compagnie de bus Choke Anan tour, (la compagnie que tu as choisie) je ne sais pas du tout si l'un de ses bus a pour terminus le centre de Bangkok, ni le quartier de Bangkok où serait ce terminus. Mais il est fort possible, (comme pour la compagnie New Mitr) que l'un de ses bus a pour terminus quelque part dans le centre de Bangkok, après être passé par la gare routière sud de bangkok (Sai Tai Mai Southern Bus Terminal). Il faut que tu demandes à la compagnie où est ce terminus, et leur dire que tu veux descendre à ce terminus et pas à Sai Tai Mai Southern Bus Terminal.
A Ranong: L'office, et le départ des bus Choke Anan et New Mitr Tour sont à 50 metres l'un de l'autre dans cette rue de Ranong: j'ai représenté le chemin pour se rendre au bureau de ces compagnies du Marché central de Ranong, (là où s’arrête tous les pick up de la ville). Le départ et les bureaux de ces compagnies ne sont qu'à 600m du marché central.:

Le départ des gros bus de ces 2 compagnies est juste à l'arrière de leur bureau, dans un immense hall où sont stationnés les 3 bus (24places, 32places et 38places), ces bus passeront ensuite à la gare routière de Ranong avant de poursuivre leur route sur Bangkok.
Par contre, pour le bus que tu vas prendre de Chumphon, le Chumphon, Ranong, ... Krabi, de Choke Anan Tour, vu que ce bus a pour terminus Krabi, à priori je penserais que ce bus a pour terminus la gare routière de Ranong et pas le centre ville, gare routière qui est à 1km300 du centre ville.
Voila si tu as l'info d'un terminus dans le centre de Bangkok, pour le Ranong - Bangkok de la compagnie Choke Anan, fais nous un retour, ce serait très sympat 😉 pour compléter le topo ci dessous "se rendre de Bangkok à Ranong" et vis versa 😉 Merci

Je recommande aussi chaudement le Palmy Home essayé voici 5 ans déja pour me rendre à Ko Payam. Attention les proprios et le staff ne sont pas vraiment anglophones 😏.

Complément d'infos sur Ranong-Bangkok en gros bus VIP:
Précédemment j'ai dit que seul le gros bus VIP 32 places de la compagnie New Mitr Tour a pour terminus le centre de Bangkok près de Khaosan road (exactement à 550m de Khaosan au365/6 Phra Sumen Road), et que les autres bus (24 et 38places) s’arrêtent à la gare routière sud de Bangkok (Sai Tai Mai Southern Bus Terminal).
Cependant, il est quand même possible de voyager dans le 24 ou 38places et d'avoir pour terminus le 365/6 Phra Sumen Road, en le demandant avant le départ à la compagnie, au staf du bus New Mitr ; lorsque votre bus arrive à la gare routière sud de Bangkok (Sai Tai Mai Southern Bus Terminal) vers les 4 heures du matin, les employés du bus transporteront vos bagages dans le 32places de la compagnie et vous terminerez votre voyage dans le 32places jusqu'au 365/6 Phra Sumen Road.

Il est possible qu'avec le bus de ta compagnie Chok Anan, il y ait un procédé similaire, un de leur 3 bus qui a pour terminus un endroit du centre de Bangkok.
RANONG: Le départ des bus VIP de Chok Anan Tour, et les bureaux de la compagnie (la compagnie dont tu as le billet) sont au 226/6 Tha Mueang Road, Tambon Khao Niwet, Amphoe Mueang, Ranong, 85000 GPS Location: 9.960664, 98.626670. Tu peux aussi attraper ton bus à la gare routière de Ranong, puisque tous les bus y passent.
Les bureaux et le départ des bus de Chok Anan Tour, 226/6 Tha Mueang Road, sont à 50m mètres de New Mit tour dans la même rue (Thanon Phelkasen Road, désolé il y a une ambiguïté sur le nom de la rue de Ranong), ou pour se repérer à 50m de la GH Casa Theresa qui est excellente pour les chambres de catégorie supérieure avec un décor à la Balinaise.
Si le terminus de ton bus est la gare routière sud de Bangkok (Sai Tai Mai Southern Bus Terminal), le plus simple ensuite est un taxi pour ta destination finale.

Casa Theresa: plusieurs catégories de chambre, si j'ai trouvé ses chambres avec salon et cuisine supérieures à celles de Palmy Home, par contre ses chambres premiers prix n’étaient pas bien.
Beaucoup d'humanitaires y louent des chambres au mois.
Car si Ranong est en Thaïlande, plus de 60% de sa population est birmane, des birmans parfois venus avec leurs enfants et les enfants birmans ne sont pas scolarisés par l'état thaïlandais. Alors plutôt que de les laisser à la rue ou qu'ils ne se retrouvent exploités par telle ou telle entreprise, de nombreuses organisations humanitaires leur fournissent une scolarité, des écoles.
Ce peut être l'occasion de visiter l'une de ces écoles en centre ville, par exemple Marist Mission Ranong. Chaque année des volontaires viennent apporter leurs aides, (enseignement anglais surtout) et aider les prêtres catholiques (philippins, et australiens) de la Mission.

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:

Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.

Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...
