Je me rends en Inde du 16 juillet au 3 aout. Je suis en train de planifier mon itinéraire et voudrais savoir quelles régions de l'Inde (nord ou/et sud) il faut privilégier au niveau de climat en cette période ?
ce sont toutes les plus grandes villes indiennes; tu cliques sur l'une d'entre elles et tu as températures et pluviometrie mois par mois et année par année; ce qui te permettra de voir que mises à part les régions "en hauteur" (extrême nord essentiellement), il fait très, très chaud en juillet dans toute l'Inde.
Seul avantage : peu de touristes, donc possibilité de discuter les tarifs des hébergements

bonjour la pluie qu'il faut regarder, car juillet n'est pas un trés bon mois, pour ma part nous partont le 10/07 pour mumbai et je pense que l'on se dirigera vers le tamil nadu mais 2 jours avant de partir je consulterai la météo en inde afin de voir ou en est la mousson et modifier mon itinéraire si il le faut

Ce n'est pas parce que tu iras au nord du pays qu'il fera moins chaud au contraire (sauf dans l'Himalayas où il pleuvra énormément et sauf au Ladakh mais c'est une petite région très particulière). En effet le nord a un climat continental donc très chaud en juillet/août. Je confirme au Tamil Nadu il risque de faire caniculaire et très sec. Les meilleurs températures seront sur la côte ouest y compris sur sud mais il rusque d'y pleuvoir beaucoup. Sur le plateau du Karnataka, c'est peut-être un bon compromis entre chaleur et pluie. Il y a quelques années je suis passé par Delhi fin juillet, je crois que je n'ai jamais eu aussi chaud de ma vie (sauf une fois en passant par le désert du Baluchistan 😉, en juillet justement).
Une bonne solution serait de prévoir un séjour entre Karnataka, Keraka et Tamil Nadu et en fonction du climat (l'an dernier il paraît que la mousson était très supportable au Kérala en juillet, c'était cerrtainement exceptionnel) et tu modifies ton itinéraire en fonction de la force de la mousson.

Le problème c'est que je ne vais pas pouvoir bouger tout le temps, je veux trouver un ashram, m'y poser 10 ou 12 jours et ensuite visiter un peu la région de l'ashram que je vais choisir, car nous avons que du 16 juillet au 3 aout. Et comme je comprends vous me conseiller de modifier evenuellement l'itinéraire juste avant le départ s'il faut... ça sera assez compliqué, car en manque de temps pour bouger d'une région à l'autre, il faut qu'on trouve quand meme quelques points concrets de séjour..

Voici mes souvenirs il faisait chaud mais les pluies de la mousson rendaient la vie plus agréable
D'abord il ne pleut pas toute la journéé sauf au Kérala et encore à part certains jours c'est très supportable et le soleil brille plusieurs fois par jour ailleur
Le Sud Est est très agréable il pleut très peu ce n'est pas la saison des pluies
Au Nord Ouest monter à Manali et faites en autocar la route jusqu'à Leh elle est impressionnante et ne peut être faite qu'en juillet août
Ailleurs vous jouerez à cache cache avec le soleil avec un grand parapluie indien mais la pluie quand il fait chaud c'est agréable

as-tu concretise quelque chose pour juillet? J ai une amie qui me rejoind en juillet a Chennai (tamil nadu) et on s etait plutot fixees sur le sud, kerala, karnataka, sans trop savoir par rapport a la mousson et avec les contradictions qu il y a, on reste la dessus.

je crois qu'on va aussi choisir le sud : kerala, tamil nadu... On voudrait prendre l'avion : Mumbai - Bangalore - Mumbai, et descendre de Bangalore...pour le moment rien de précis.

hello! surtout ne réserve pas d'hôtel sur internet, pour les mêmes hôtels, c'est 2 à 3 fois plus cher que sur place. En juillet, pas de pluie (ou très peu) au Tamil Nadu mais très chaud...comme partout en Inde je crois!!hihihi

La mousson au Kerala ainsi qu au Thamil Nadu n arrive qu en septembre. Un conseil d un vieux routard qui connait bien le pays. Du coup nous on est a Chennai et la chaleur est carrement supportable, il fait 30 degres et on en ressent 35 avec l humidite.
Je ne sais pas vraiment pour le Karnataka mais j entends que la mousson est vivable.

La mousson arrive au Kérala début juin et se termine en septembre (le gros des pluies c'est juin/juillet). Elle vient de la mer d'Arabie (du sud ouest).
Une autre mousson, plus faible, venue du golfe du Bengale (donc de l'est) arrive sur le Tamil Nadu à partir de fin septembre.
Cela explique qu'en juillet il pleut beaucoup voire énormément sur le Kérala et que la température y soit clémente (autour de 25°C) alors qu'au Tamil Nadu c'est "heat and dust" (canicule et poussières).
Ceci étant dit les western ghats ne sont pas toujours infranchissables et il arrive que les nuages débordent. 😏
Je téléphone régulièrement à mes amis qui vivent à Alleppey, en ce moment il pleut de superbes averses de mousson mais de temps en temps dans la journée, pas de façon continue comme cela se produit parfois. Et il fait autour de 25°C (à Alleppey). Donc un climat tout à fait acceptable pour un mois de juillet. En montagne je ne sais pas, un de mes amis chauffeur de taxi promène une famille française en ce moment entre Munnar et Thekkady, je saurai demain ou après-demain le résultat des courses (ils descendront sur Alleppey).
Pour info le 17 juillet il y a des fêtes à Thrissur et du côté de Palakhad. 😎

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?
I’m worried about ending up in the middle of a natural disaster with my two young kids, given recent events.

This year, 2026, I can only get away in April and May. I never travel during these months usually, and from what I know, they aren’t the best for India. But in such a big country, there are always spots that are better than others weather-wise.

Just giving you the quick context: A group of friends and I are planning a trip to South Korea (Seoul/Busan) at the end of June/July next year. It falls right in the middle of the monsoon season, but we don’t really have other availability options.😕
I’d love to hear from people who’ve visited the country and these cities during this period—basically, is it not as bad as it sounds, or should we just cancel our tickets (we don’t mind the heat, it’s mostly the rain that scares us).
I know there are plenty of indoor activities, but do you think we’ll still manage to get a few sunny days, or will it be torrential rain for our entire 2-week trip?
The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
If you’ve got any great tips like this, why not discuss them in this thread and share addresses or websites where the people in charge have realized climate change is real and are adapting? 😊
