je voudrais savoir à combien se trouve hua hin au départ de bangkok et comment on peut y aller.
Aussi je voudrais savoir si c'est un endroit que vous me conseillez?

On aura jamais assez de temps pour tout ce qu'on veut découvrir et comprendre dans nos voyages qu'on se le dise , Amis voyageurs .
Voici quelques précisions. A partir de la gare routière déjà citée, les bus partent de 6h30 à 21h. Le trajet en bus conditionné coûte 142 bahts (janvier 2006). Il prend environ 3 heures. Tous les taxis en ville proposent de faire le trajet pour 2500 bahts (prix annoncé). Le bus s'arrête non loin de la gare et donc ces deux solutions ne présentent pas de différence à l'arrivée.
C'est une destination familiale, envahie par les habitants de la capitale le we et bien plus calme en semaine. Je m'y rends depuis plus de 25 ans... serait-ce objectif de conseiller cet endroit?

En fait je pars avec mon fiancé et ma fille de 2 ans et demi à bangkok du5/08 au 31/08 et je voulais qu'on fasse des excurssions plages, mais à vrai dire je ne coonait pas les îles aux alentours je pensais à ko chang mais sur le retour il dise que le paludisme y sévisse plus qu'ailleurs et qu'il peut y avoir des courants en mer dangereux alors ça ne m'enchante pas trop.
Je voudrais un endroit sympa avec une belle plage mais avec de l'animation le soir (marchés, petites visites...) pour pas qu'on s'ennuit, alors si t'a des propositions n'hésites pas .

Attention Hua Hin, c'est pas une île. La plage fait 8 km. Il n'y a pas beaucoup de magasins, par contre le marché de nuit est très sympa. C'est en effet un endroit touristique. La Thailande est un pays touristique

Dans la gamme des hôtels à environ 500 bahts, tu as tout le confort : chambre double avec ac, tv5, eau chaude et piscine. Pour 200 bahts, tu auras une chambre avec ventillo sur pillotis, carrément sur la plage. Il s'agit d'anciens sèchoirs à calamars transformés en GH. Attention cela peut-être étouffant et la mer à marée haute.. c'est pas toujours évident si on a le sommeil léger.

Un très joli hotel c'est le Pattana. Bon il vient d'un LP mais après y avoir été et bien j'ai été très surpris, tous les batiments sont en Tek (enfin c'est ce qui est dit), c'est magnifique, ca fait très typique et pas du tout truc à touriste. La plage est juste en face et vu que tu aimes ca il y a pas mal de magasins alentours et le marché. (500 baht la nuit je crois)
Sinon mon avis sur Hua Hin, c'est bien un ou 2 jours, mais c'est vraiment blindé de touristes. Tu comptes y aller à quelle periode? J'ai lu que tu cherchais des tuyaux pour les plages d'après mes renseignements à Khao Takiap (7km de Hua hin ) la plage est tres belle et surmontée par une statue de Boudha. Bonne chance dans tes recherches fio

Vu la période à laquelle tu pars tu ne rencontreras pas trop de touristes et les prix auront fondu. Pour des plages sympas sans être très très loin de Bangkok (4 ou 5 heures de bus + 30 minutes de bateau), il y a Ko Samet, une toute petite ile au Sud-Est de Bangkok. C'est assez joli, très tranquille, et ce n'est pas défiguré par le tourisme (aucun building par exemple). De toute facon en Aout tu pourras aller partout sans rencontrer des foules de monde, il fera pas trop chaud, et les prix seront vraiment très très corrects.
Juste un petit conseil, lorsque vous allez sur une île, sachez qu'en Aout il pleut assez souvent, donc voyez la météo avant d'aller sur l'île. Cela dit la saison des pluies a ce gros avantage : il fait pas trop chaud, ce qui est agréable !!!

....sinon, juste avant Hua hin, il y a Cha-am qui est plus petit, plus calme, plus familial, plus "tourisme thai".......moi je préfére.......même si les plages par là bas (mais c'est pareil à Hua hin) sont pas terrible, c'est pas sable blanc et mer transparente..........
D'accord pour Cha-am, les plages c'est vraiment pas terrible, en revanche pour découvrir ce que font les Thailandais de Bangkok en weekend c'est vraiment typique. A faire 1 seule journée. Les plages de Hua Hin sont nettement plus belles, en bas du Sofitel le sable est fin et blanc à souhait et l'eau très propre. Rassurez-vous, pas besoin de loger au Sofitel pour en profiter 😉

Je ne vais pas t'expliquer comment aller à HUA HIN c'est déjà fait.
Nous y allons depuis 15 ans et nous aimons beucoup.
Il y a une immense plage très plate et sans aucun danger.C'est une destination familiale et très tranquille.
Il y a quelques marchés de nuit beaucoup de restaurants et de boutiques.C'est aussi là que le roi a sa Résidence d'été.Il y a bien quelques bars, mais c'est très calme rien à voir avec certaines autres destinations.

Hua Hin est une petite ville bien sympa mais la plage n'est pas top. J'y ai passé une semaine l'année dernière avec mon fils de 2 ans. Il y a peu d'ombre sur la plage, l'eau est assez trouble et prévoir des chaussures en plastiques dans l'eau (surtout pour l'enfant ) car beaucoup de petits rochers qu'on ne voit pas. Il est toujours délicat de conseiller un hotel quand on ne connait pas les budgets mais le PP Villa Guest House à 50m de l'entrée de la plage est très bien : grande chambre clair avec balcon et très grande piscine où mon fils s'est éclaté ( moi aussi je dois dire) pour environ 800baths.La plage, j'avoue, on l'a gardé pour les balades, plus que pour la baignade.

J'ai pas d'action au Hilton, mais en l'occurrence ils n'ont rien construit. Cet hôtel appartenait à la chaîne Melia. Avant que l'Hilton ne le rachète la décoration était bien plus vulgaire. Il se situe juste à la pointe Hua Hin et que l'on regarde vers Cha Am ou vers Khao Takiep a perte de vue il y a des hôtels et des condomnium. Il faut bien que la Thailande loge les 13 millions de touristes qu'elle accueille par an. Pour ma part, je préfère ce que Sofitel a fait de l'ancien hôtel railways, mais le batiment de départ avait déjà pas mal d'allure. Pour ceux qui ont vu le film le Sofitel a servi de décor dans "Killing Fields". Bonne découverte Véro

Je suis allé à Hua Hin en janvier, au départ de Phuket (à moto) en 2 jours. J'y étais déjà allé, il y a quelques années pour une après-midi et une soirée (ville d'étape, d'un voyage Bangkok - Phuket à moto) et j'avais trouvé le petit (même très petit) marché de nuit très sympa !
C'est pour cette raison que j'y suis retourné cette année, mais cette fois pour une semaine sur place. Quelle déception ! Si tu veux les plages, bonne chance, car je les ai cherchées, ou plutôt j'ai essayé d'y arriver à moto. Quelle galère, car elles sont presque toutes des plages d'hôtel et ce n'est pas évident, si tu ne loges pas dans un hôtel du bord de de mer, pour y arriver. De plus, le week-end, on se croirait dans une ville d'Europe, tellement il y a des embouteillages !

il y a un membre qui a dit que c'est la résidence du roi en ete, , ( comme si cela fait bien ), , et bien cela fait au mois plus de 10 ans que il n'a pas dormi a hua hin, , il passe en coup de vent, ,
et des palais il en a partout, mais son préférer acculent, , est simplement a bkk, , en raison de son âge, , )

Pour moi aussi, HUA HIN = moche de moche ... Plage moche, eau + que trouble, mégères (commerçantes, masseuses, ...) et crottes de cheval sur la plage ... Seul bon point pour le petit marché de nuit et ses succulents petits plats ... Mon conseil (il n'appartient qu'à moi peut-être...) : oublie si tu veux voir les beaux plans de Thaïlande ... et ils sont nombreux ...

Salut Hua Hin cest vraiment pas beau..pas grand chose è voir et à faire mis à part le bazar de nuit. Je te conseille définitivement d'aller ailleurs au sud!

Hua Hin : je suis allée 3 années de suite au départ de Bankok il y a quelques années en arrière le 1ère fois mon fils avait 10 ans puis 11 ans et 12 ans (il en a maintenant 22)... donc mes infos tardent sans doute :
afin d'éviter de la fatigue et des attentes en train (la gare de Hua Hin est très jolie) nous prenions un taxi avec la Thaï Limousine, c'était très rapide et guère plus honéreux que nos 3 billets de train...
Mais bon les années ont passées... à votre retour, si vous le pouvez merci me m'envoyer vos impressions nous partions alors en août, et en famille c'était super sympa

Je cherche donc un autre endroit au départ de bangkok (là où se trouvera notre appartement) pour aller passer quelques jours à la plage.... Ko samui???? ça fait peut-être un peu loin de BKK....

il est vrai que ceux qui connaissent un peut le coin ou a la recherche non seulement de une plage, , hua hin a beaucoup changé et hélas non en bien, , ce qui ne fut pas le cas, , il y a bien longtemps, , mais je ne veut pas citer la ville balneaire il y a pire, , un petit détaille de hua hin qui n'a pas été mentionner, , c'est également une ville balnéaire pour la hi et middle class de bangkok ils ont pas mal de maisons et appartements, , et ils sont bien imbuvables, , il faut le reconnaitre, , aucune communications, , mais il y a une plage a 5 klm sud connu par les thais, , elle se trouve dans un une basse militaire ( ouvert au public ) la les plages sont belles

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!

The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before: - Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary. If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.

For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. Sandakan → Sepilok: No app for this one—you just hop on bus #14 at the local terminal (pay cash on board). But where do I catch it, and where’s the stop??
Sandakan → Semporna: From what I’ve heard, it’s the Sida Express company (great name, right? 😄). Can’t book online, but apparently, you *have* to because there’s only one bus at 8 AM. Where do I board, and where does it drop me off?
Semporna → Tawau: Found this via AI—is it legit? No online booking, as far as I can tell. Minivans leave from a stop in the Jalan Hospital area, near the Milimewa supermarket, supposedly???? And when you arrive, does it drop you at **Sabindo Square** in Tawau?????
