Je me présente : Emilie, 28 ans, Designer Graphique dans la pub depuis 6 ans (et aussi cavalière - j'entraine des chevaux de CSO et CROSS)... Je suis en NZ depuis septembre 2008 avec mon partner avec un VVT. Nous cherchons à rester vivre en NZ... Notre VVT se termine en septembre (mais nous allons le faire prolonger jusqu'à décembre).
Nous savons que pour rester, nous avons plusieurs options :
1) Obtenir un contrat de 1 an et faire une demande de résidence (nous avons déjà fait la pré-demande : Expression Of Interest et avons été retenus... Il nous manque "juste" le contrat !!).
2) Obtenir un contrat de 1 an et faire une demande de Work Permit.
3) Créer sa propre entreprise (self-employement) et obtenir soit même le Work Permit...
Est-ce que si je me mets en Freelance, et si j'obtiens le Work Permit de 1 ou 2 ans, est ce que mon partner (statut defacto en NZ - not married yet :)) pourra rester en NZ avec moi (même s'il ne trouve pas dans l'immédiat un contrat de travail) ??
Est-ce que certain d'entre vous sont en Freelance (dans quelques métiers que ce soit) ? Comment ça marche ?

Oui, puis on est encore qu'en avril, d'ici Septembre, voir Decembre, votre situation peut évoluer dans beaucoup de sens... donc faut essayer, comme tu dis, et si ça marche pas comme vous le voulez, vous n'aurez pas de regrets au moins!
Sinon, pour ton homme, j'ai une idée tordue qui me traverse l'esprit afin de gagner quelques mois supplémentaires... si il prend un VVT avec l'Australie, est-ce qu'il ne pourrait pas passer 3 mois de plus en NZ du fait des accords Australie/ Nouvelle ZElande (si ils existent...).
Je te dis ça, mais si ça se faut c'est irréalisable et contraignant...
Sinon, est ce que l'on est limité en nombre de visites "touristes"? Parce qu'il pourrait cumuler les allers retours Australie/ NZ tous les 3 mois comme ça!

oui a priori, si toi tu arrives à te dégotter un work permit alors ton partner pourra de facto faire une demande pour en obtenir un
je ne connais pas les formalités exacts, mais une agence de recrutement ma confirmé ce matin que dés que mon partner changera son working holiday visa contre un work permit (dans son cas parcequil a trouvé un permanent job) alors je pourrais faire la demande à mon tour.
bref c'est pas trés clair, mais en gros : ya moyen que ton partenaire reste en NZ ...et moi aussi!

J'aimerai que ce soit vrai mais j'en doute fort !! J'attends une réponse du service de l'immigration concernant cette question, mais sur le site, j'ai cru comprendre que ça n'était pas possible. Si on avait été MARI et FEMME, no soucy, mais DE FACTO c'est différent pour eux !
De plus, l'immigration vient GRAVE de resserer les boulons à cause de la crise, avec les visiteurs voulant s'installer ici !!!
Donc méfiance !!!
Renseigne toi bien aussi car ça serait dommage que ton partner reste et que tu ne sois pas en droit de rester sans un contrat de travail, toi aussi 😉
Je me suis renseignée pour monter ma propre boite en tant que Graphiste Freelance. C'est très très dur et très long et SURTOUT très cher : environ 10 000 dollars et environ 6 mois d'attente.... Donc nous sommes assez pessimiste quant au fait de rester vivre en NZ. Nous avons déjà mis en vente mon cheval et planifié l'après NZ !

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area.
